Common Questions and Answers about Compare nasonex to flonase

nasonex

Avatar n tn He put me on Nasonex, a steroid nasal spray, to reduce the inflammation. I also hear my heartbeat in my ear at times, and he's hoping that a month on Nasonex will stop that. If not, he'll do a CT scan and other work to see what's going on. Here's my question: Are any of you using something like Nasonex or Flonase? I do have a headache behind my eyes and feel tired a lot, but I had that before too.
Avatar f tn I took Flonase it seemed to be doing the same to me, thanks for sharing!
Avatar m tn s what competition is supposed to do. But noooooo... I went to CVS today and the price was $218 for Nasonex. That is a total ripoff... Why did the price go up? So what's the difference between Merck, the manufacturer, and a robber with a gun on the street? Answer: The gun. Merck robs you without using a gun. Very clever, taking advantage of peoples' medical conditions.
Avatar n tn Your mouth "filled with blood"? Whoah. Assuming that this is related to the Flonase is exactly that -- an assumption. This should be taken seriously and examined.
Avatar f tn t think much of it because I used Flonase before with no issues but I wanted to see if this would be more effective. After about a week of usage I started feeling "off". Every day it got worse and worse. I experienced head pressure (to the point I thought I had a brain tumor), mood swings (would just burst out crying for no reason), panic attacks, weird vision, vertigo, anxiety, depression, brain fog, etc. Just before all of this happened I was an incredibly happy, healthy person.
Avatar f tn P.S. I'm also using Nasonex and I believe it is helping. I have been on flonase for the last 5yr's since this all started and it never helped. What is the difference between Flonase and Nasonex?
Avatar n tn Everything that the doctor already suggested does help, but I still have to use allergy medicine. I use Benadryl and Nasonex. Nasonex, because it is fragrance-free. Flonase isn't fragrance-free and I could taste that one going down the back of my throat through the nasal passages connecting to the throat. That affected me negatively in other ways, too. I'm glad my doctor changed my prescription to Nasonex.
Avatar m tn Told me not to use it every day, to try backing off to every couple of days and see if that helped. I still use it once in a while but I try not to swallow it, I try to spit it out when it starts running down my throat.
Avatar n tn Today the doc decided to start testing me for allergies to try to get to the root of the fluid and swelling in my ears. Your results sound interesting. I have in the past from time to time has what I think are fever blisters around the corners of my mouth. Is there a test for Herpes simplex 1? I may mention this to my ENT next time I go there.
Avatar m tn We have an air filtration system as Specialmom recommends, as well as an air humidifier to add moisture to the air (if your climate is similar to ours). I also am very careful to thoroughly clean my son's room every other day....I damp sponge the walls and all the furniture and try to keep any sort of "dust collector" (stuffed animals are bad ones) out of his room.
Avatar f tn t been on the Flonase long enough to provide control. But I am not wheezing...just stuck in the yellow zone anywhere from 360-390...after my rescue inhaler I can push it up to over 400 but it doesn't last for long. I am only slightly more winded with an occasional cough. My question is this....What do I do...When I go to my PCP they are unimpressed because I am not wheezing but I am in the Yellow Zone.....
Avatar f tn After internet research finally tried using Nasonex and that seems to be the only thing that helps, usually it helps, and usually it helps the most if I use it soon enough with the start of symptoms. New development in last 3 weeks. After several airplane trips and ears not clearing after the 3rd trip, and a lot of fullness in the ear, (symptoms not as usual...not nearly as painful, but full and uncomfortable.
29837 tn?1414534648 My allergist gave me a sample of Nasonex, which I used for about a week. Unfortunately, it did not help my symptoms and I had frequent nosebleeds. Maybe try the spray for another couple of days?
Avatar f tn I was on nasonex spray prn or I take 1 puff each nose at times for few years= 4 years. Now I noticed hair thinning and loss. I have stopped the nasonex now. Will my hair grow back as usual? I am so worried. Iam not taking any other medication. But on hair supplements- zinc, vitamin E and multivitamin. Started my hair massage!
Avatar f tn I'm wondering if anyone has had the endoscopy surgery for removing the mucus retention cyst in the maxillary sinus. If so -- what was the outcome? Was it successful? I've had reoccurring sinus infections (3 in the past year). I no longer have the infection but I have CONSTANT post nasal drip. It happens everyday, particularly in the afternoon/evening. When it gets really bad, I get a sore throat or feel nauseous and my voice is always hoarse. One ENT suggested it was allergies.
464237 tn?1315670793 t want the infection to get even worse. How is it ok to use flonase for bacterial infection? Have any of you used flonase for infection. My infection is not allergy related, it came from a cold that was going around. Thanks so much for reading. and yes I have been using nasal irrigation along with all of the other home remedies I have found on the internet.

Avatar n tn s unfortunate when medication costs so much sometimes that we have to find an alternative. Flonase and Astepro are likely the right names. Flonase is a corticosteroid spray and Astepro is an antihistamine spray. Dymista is a combination medication so it makes sense that the doctor is suggesting the two medications will work as the Dymista did. Let us know how it goes.
Avatar n tn I am a 30 year-old healthy female. I currently take Levothyroxine for a thyroid disorder. I am on no other medications. For the last year I have had fullness in both my ears. It is getting to be very uncomfortable and bothersome. The feeling reminds me of when you change elevation and need to clear your ears. I have tried to get them to "pop" but it doesn't work. I am a singer and now when singing my voice even echos in my ears.
1236313 tn?1295726268 I have tried Nasonex, Flonase, etc. I started allergy shots about 8 months ago. The only relief I get is from Afrin, and that doesn't even last the 12 hours. (I don't want to hear about how you shouldn't take it for more than 3 days either!) My family doctor had put me on the Z-pack and Biaxin and it works for a SHORT period of time, if at all, and then I go back to the congestion. I have had a CAT scan that shows some inflammation, but does show that I am draining.
531684 tn?1216745984 I have to admit It was scary. Deep down, I think it is most likely a symptom of my using Nasonex. The reason I feel this way is because I typically wake up in the morning with a nose caked in dry blood and sometimes blow it out when I'm blowing my nose. Is this a typical symptom? Should I stop using Nasonex? The reason I'm asking is to feel secure, I will certainly see a Doc, but I don't want to worry all day if this is normal.
