Common Questions and Answers about Colonic hydrotherapy benefits

Avatar m tn With colonic hydrotherapy you see bile? I never heard that and I seriously doubt that it's bile you see. When the bile ducts are blocked the bile doesn't get into your gallbladder and from there doesn't get released into your intestines. Bile is what colors the normal stool. When there is a blockage of bile the stool can be pale or nearly white in color and the serum bilirubin becomes elevated. Bile is not white so whatever you are seeing I doubt very much that it's bile.
Avatar m tn About a week ago I posted a question about colon hydrotherapy but I received no response. I had this treatment done and since then I have gone more than usual. I am scheduled for another treatment but I would like to know if this is accepted by the medical field as a safe and effective method of colon cleansing. Or some comments from others who have been through this before. Please respond.

Avatar f tn I am starting to wean myself off of my back brace and will begin hydrotherapy soon. My doctor wants to start me with hydrotherapy first and then progress to the ground physical therapy. Should I expect to feel sore after my therapy sessions? The hydrotherapy sounds like it will feel good, but since I've never had any kind of back trauma or surgery... I welcome any input from others. It's interesting to know that a change in atmosphere brings on an arthritic type of pain.
Avatar f tn Hi, Colonic inertia is a condition in which the nerves and/or muscles of the colon do not work normally. As a result, the contents of the colon are not propelled through the colon normally. The cause of colonic inertia is unclear. In some cases, the muscles or nerves of the colon are diseased. Colonic inertia also may be the result of the chronic use of stimulant laxatives .Please consult a neurologist for the review of the EMG results and get a nerve conduction study done .
Avatar n tn There is no clear cut association between hysterectomy and colonic inertia. Some of the causes of colonic inertia include inadequate water intake, inadequate fiber, lack of physical activity, increased stress, hypothyroidism, eating large amounts of dairy products, irritable bowel syndrome, neurological diseases and depression. Avoiding dairy products, warm liquids, fruits and vegetables and drnking plenty of water helps.
Avatar f tn Has anyone tried colon hydrotherapy ? I’ve done 3 treatments back to back already and it has decreased the symptoms but I don’t think it’s permanent. I started the treatment 3 days ago. It’s a machine that cleans out your colon for 45 min. It’s a good way to detox. I noticed after the first treatment I had less cravings for sugar. I pretty much forgot to eat for a whole day after the first treatment bc for some reason I didn’t feel hungry (I don’t recommend not eating).
Avatar f tn I have been told that regular colonic hydration is good for cleaning out the diverticula in a person with diverticulosis. How accurate is that? I have been wanting to go to a CCT, but was worried about it. Has anyone out there tried it? What was it like, and did it work?

5153051 tn?1364441441 I am a 28 year old female who has never been pregnant, but who has had a long battle with constipation. After having some real problems with constipation in early February, I have been diagnosed with pelvic organ prolapse including a moderately large rectocele and enterocele seen during defecography. The enterocele actually causes the colon/rectum to collapse, obstructing complete defecation.
Avatar n tn Hello first I apologize if my English is not good I just moved in USA. I have had problems with constipation since I can remember my self.

Avatar m tn I have also tried PT, traction, epidural cortisone shots, acupuncture, massage therapy, hydrotherapy. The later three give temporary relief but nothing long lasting. If I watch what I do my pain level is between 0 and 3, that is if I do nothing. If I am active the pain can be between 3 and 8 but may be time delayed by 12 to 24 hours. My Neurosurgeon wants me to consider a neurostimulator and I am looking for input for anyone that has one or has dealt with them.
Avatar n tn ice packs, heat pads, massage therapy, physiotherapy, yoga, meditation, hydrotherapy, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), spinal cord stimulation, radiofrequency ablation, other types of neurolytic blocks, aromatherapy, Reiki, acupressure and acupuncture, guided imagery and biofeedback. Usually a combined approach of a pain killer and a non-medication therapy helps give best pain relief. Please consult your doctor regarding this. Take care!
Avatar n tn m sure... such as deep warm penetrating hydrotherapy. I have extremely powerful jets in my hot tub designed for the feet. It's non obtrusive form of therapy that uses water pressure that will not cause bruising to the skin. I take care of my mom who is 83. Her legs tend to go purple if they don't get enough circulation. The hydrotherapy helps her immensely and I also use blue light!
Avatar n tn Not sure why you think you have colonic inertia because your doctor had a hard time performing a colonoscopy. Colonic inertia is extremely rare and indicates that the muscles of the colon do not function. It has nothing to do with the shape of the colon. You also do not develop this as a complication of surgery. I have colonic inertia and had my colon removed because of this 6 days ago. I am sitting in my hospital room as we speak.
Avatar n tn I am unsure if i have IBS but closest topic. I had a colonic irrigation last week to help reduce bloating, it wasnt serious bloating i just thought that i might acheive a flatter stomach. However immediately after the colonic irrigation and ever since i have experienced severe bloating, especially after a meal, i look pregnant and it feels hard with such pressure that it is very uncomfortable to move and i feel like i have to take deeper breaths.
