Common Questions and Answers about Colon hydrotherapy for ibs

colon

Avatar m tn t know much about colon hydrotherapy or how they were able to test your feces for pin worms, but that alone would prompt me to see a doctor right away. I'm not sure if that could cause your lymph nodes to swell (maybe from inflammation), but if you have parasites you will probably need treatment for it right away.
Avatar f tn Is there a reason why more people will not do the colon hydrotherapy detox? Wouldn't this make more people healthier?
Avatar n tn please see a urogynecologist...you most likely have pelvic organ prolapse! I developed this after my hysterectomy and also look into pelvic floor dysfunction...I understand your misery as I have been living since 2005...went from laxatives, to mag citrate to enemas to colon hydrotherapy...dr's saying I was addicted to the above methods...after a 6.5 hour surgery correcting my anatomy I went from the above methods to going 4-8 times a day...
Avatar n tn I have suffered from IBS/constipation for 15 years. I have tried every over the counter med possible, I have been prescribed medications, I have tried accupuncture, massages, changed diet, and currently I have a colonix once a week. I get so backed up that my stomach swells up to two inches. I am told the reason I am so constipated is because I have no muscle control in my colon. A highly recommended specialist from UAB, formerly from the Mayo Clinic, said I had two options. 1.
Avatar f tn My GI doc thinks it is from the IBS and That I have sensitivity still in the colon. He has put me on Bentyl and fiber. I have also seen a colon-rectal surgeon and she agrees with him. Any other ideas?
Avatar n tn I have IBS. Havent moved my bowels in 3 days. I eat a high fiber diet. I am stressed. Should I take some laxatives? I eat all bran buds for breakfast every morning. I have lazy bowels. I eat apples, oranges, plums. I dont know what i am doing wrong. I am in alot of pain right now, being backed up with feces. Please help me!!
Avatar f tn Have you consulted with a GI doctor and had any testing done?
Avatar f tn I have Redundant Colon and IBS-C right now - it used to be IBS-D But changed. I started have severe pain issues a couple of years ago. Hubby researched the internet and found Heather's Help for IBS website - you can Google that name. This lady has had IBS since she was 9 years old. She's not a doctor, but probably knows more about IBS than any doctor out there! I got her Acacia Senegal powder - an organic substance - and her double enteric-coated peppermint & fennel gel caps.
Avatar n tn The part about the redundant colon (basically, an extra length of colon) explains the constipation, and the spastic colon points to IBS...weird they can tell during the procedure. I've also been keeping a bowel journal, and found that certain foods were linked to it (beef, milk, corn, broccoli, soy).
Avatar f tn Hello and welcome to the forum. Thanks for your question. It sounds like you have been working with your doctor which is perfect. You've had some testing done. You are young but if you or they have concerns, a colonoscopy is usually recommended. Your medical care for concerns sounds to now have been a while back though so we suggest a follow up appointment. Start with a primary care doctor who then, if warranted, can refer you to a gastrointenstinal specialist.
Avatar f tn No, it's not normal to have worms in your guts! But it is true that a lot of people in the world, but not so much the U.S., get them because of stuff like bad water, bad septic removal, trash everywhere, that kind of thing. The only right way to take care of worms is have a physician test you, to see if you've got them. If you do, they'll give you a strong medication to get rid of them. That's all there is to it.
Avatar m tn The pain and the bowel symptoms could be due to IBS. But IBS is a diagnosis of exclusion, i.e. once all other diseases of the colon like colitis, infections, tumors etc. have been ruled out, then the diagnosis of IBS is made. Please consult your doctor, who may ask for blood tests and sometimes a colonoscopy to rule out these conditions. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn About a week ago I posted a question about colon hydrotherapy but I received no response. I had this treatment done and since then I have gone more than usual. I am scheduled for another treatment but I would like to know if this is accepted by the medical field as a safe and effective method of colon cleansing. Or some comments from others who have been through this before. Please respond.
Avatar m tn if your intestines and bowels are still weak, i recommend colon hydrotherapy. it helps. if you know of anyone with a bi-resonnance machin it helps. this is sent from a person who was terribly sick and has started coming back to life. take care buddy.
Avatar f tn On the other hand, colonoscopy evaluates only rectum, sigmoid colon, descending colon, transverse colon, ascending colon, and terminal ileum (very end of small bowel).
473493 tn?1236836912 I also followed up with doing colon hydrotherapy to cleanse my system so that I could go to the bathroom regularly. After the session, I lost a whopping 7lbs! Now this is not typical, I just had a lot of gunk in my colon that needed to come out. I also used a natural appetite suppressant that helped curb my appetite. It worked wonders for me and it could help with your problem as well.
Avatar f tn any way of getting rid of IBS forever? I have had it for years with constipation. I am looking for a fool proof natural herb medication & diet to correct this.
Avatar n tn Thanks for advice, I have been adding alot of fiber to my diet. Like I sd I had IBS for yrs & have gotten a colonoscopy a few times but I think I will go for one again to be sure. I've always had a very stressful like & it does a job w/IBS. I'm in my 60's.
Avatar f tn Many of the symptoms, like the spasms in the colon and the bouts of BM that aren't normal sound like IBS, but I would ask a doctor to explain what they're talking about with the "'smooth muscle spasms' in the diaphragm'".
Avatar m tn No he is treating me for the tortuous colon. He hasn't diagnosed with IBS, which is what I thought I had. There isn't a generic for the medication but he has prescribed me something else that my insurance will cover. I will start it today and see how it goes.
Avatar f tn It is a small enteric coated pill and will help with upper or lower gas. IBS (I prefer Spastic Colon instead of IBS for the name, because I can feel my insides spasming and twisting) it's a terrible disease causing so much pain and grief. Most times I feel like I have no life. It was not so bad when I was a younger woman, started getting worse in my mid forties, then got better after a few months, until I started taking PPI drugs.
Avatar f tn re describing happen to me quite a bit, since this is where the descending colon is located. People with IBS get this pain often. And, IBS is often irritated by food sensitivities and allergies. Also, when I am arround the smell of coffee, like the coffee houses or the coffee aisle in a grocery store, I will often start sneezing. I don't drink coffee, but I used to, until I figured out that it bothers my colon as well as my sinuses.
Avatar f tn I fit the symptoms of IBS, but wonder how you can tell the difference between IBS and colon cancer since the symptoms are so similar? I am a 47 year old female with no significant health problems other than these ongoing GI issues which have been going on for about three months. It seemed to start after a bad stomach bug that I had that never truly went away.
