Avatar m tn I occasionally have a small amount of blood in my stool. It appears to be due to irritable bowel syndrom - which does not show up in a colonoscopy. Usually diarrhea goes along with that. Possible causes of abdominal pain that is associated w/ blood in the stool. - colitis, chrones, diverticulitis, and irritable bowel. I would think the first 3 have been eleminated through the colonoscopy. It sounds like they need to do a CT (cat scan).
Avatar n tn but they just diagnosed me with a tortuous colon. My next step is to get the colon transit study xrays to see if my colon is working or not. If it is not I might be getting my large intestine removed. I too am looking for feedback on this surgery and if its worth it and if it is better then what I am going through now. The pros and cons etc. Also anyone that has had the surgery have they had issues with sexual intercourse after the surgery?? And what about medications and vitamins?

Avatar n tn For some insight there are various types of MVP and broadly it can be classified as classic and nonclassic.... In its nonclassic form, MVP carries a low risk of complications.... In severe cases of classic MVP, complications include mitral regurgitation, infective endocarditis, congestive heart failure, and—in rare circumstances—cardiac arrest, usually resulting in sudden death...worst case scenarios. If serious you would have shortness of breath with very little exertion.

Avatar f tn Your body needs bacteria, especially good types. The good types of bacteria are called “probiotics” and they include Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium, E. Coli, and Acidophilus.
