i would like to know if anyone can help, my husband had 5 stents fitted over thelast 6 years, after taking colplidogral tablets with asprin and several others for some time, he went in for a minor op on his leg (private) and was refused treatment due to the blood thinning tablets he was on, they said he would bleed to death on the operating table.
ve had arthralgia ,oseaophigitis,rashes and chest pain .
P, Clopidogrel U.S.P, Enalapril Maleate Tablets IP, Atenalol Tablets I.P, Tonact 40 and Alprax; from 2 months.

Regarding her bleeding ulcers, why don’t you suggest coated aspirin tablets and clopidogrel tablets to the doctors? It’s much easier to control the bleeding time with these drugs than with Warfarin, which also causes osteoporosis.

I had a heart attack last year and am on beta blockers, ace inhibitors, clopidogrel and also thyroxine tablets for underactive thyroid. My bp has now stabilised and is between 98/49 -145/68. My pulse rate however, seems to only flucutate between the high 50s to as low as 43. Is this normal. I am 67 years old and overweight which I don't seem to be able to lose.

Ive only heard of proton pump inhibitors reducing the effect of Clopidogrel (plavix) but only by a tiny amount. I do have to question though if Zantac is a proton pump inhibitor anyway? Isn't it just a H2 receptor blocker?
In the CAPRIE trial, clopidogrel (plavix) was equivalent to aspirin for patients with a recent (but not acute) MI. Some subgroups of patients with cardiovascular disease in this trial seemed to benefit more from clopidogrel than from aspirin: those with a history of bypass surgery, a prior stroke or MI, arterial disease in two or more areas, diabetes, or high cholesterol. Clopidogrel may be a reasonable choice for these patients.
Evidence is available from retrospective analysis of the CPARIE trial with clopidogrel that patients who have atherosclerosis in other vascular beds, such as prior ischemic stroke or concurrent peripheral vascular disease, benefit from receiving clopidogrel over aspirin. Some cardiologists have concluded that these patients, who are at higher risk of a subsequent vascular event, would benefit from combined therapy.

Hello; I have got one coronary DES stent implanted since two month ago ("Endeavor RESOLUTE RX"). I am on clopidogrel, aspirin, atorvastatin, carvedilol, enalapril and pantoprazol. Fearing about scars growing inside the stent's mesh, I have read that some people recommend vitamin E for cosmetic appearance of scars; well, my question is: Could vitamin E be of some help for preventing "in-stent restenosis"? Is it worth trying? Thanks!
