1212365 tn?1329968536 My daughter of 2yrs old has cellulitis and the DR. prescribed her clindamycin she started this treatment 3days ago and all of a sudden her hair is starting to fall out. I tried looking for the side effects but it was telling me basic stuff and it stated that it had more to it I just needed to ask a doctor. So now I'm asking....
Avatar m tn however, an MRI scan was interpreted by my podiatrist that I had a bone infection (cellulitis) on the tip of my big toe bone. I now have been taking antibiotics for about a month, about 10 days of keflex with a 5 day break, 10 days of cipro, and 3 days break before another 10 days of cipro. Am now taking a 10 day round of both clindamycin and bactrum to treat it.
Avatar m tn Afternoon. I have had cellulitis in my nose for over a month.... took Bactrim, Clindamycin, and another 5 days of Bactrim.. which didn't help in the first place... but... i have this swollen membrane (i guess) from the tip of my nose about 1/2 inch back... it always feels like it is going to swell up again.... with no insurance another 125.00 is not what I want to pay since it seems like none of that helped anyway... anybody have any thoughts on this one???
Avatar m tn My right foot got burning itching and hot on Monday's night. I thought it's athlete's foot and got the athlete foot cream in Walgreen on Tuesday, but didn't help. It got swollen and hurt on Thursday night and I went to urgent care on Friday's morning. The doctor prescribed me Clindamycin, but seems didn't help at all and the blister between toes got bigger(Only one blister). I followed up with him Today(Saturday) and he suggested me to go to ER.

Avatar f tn m having trouble posting it anywhere else. I recently had an outbreak of cellulitis on my leg that spread quickly. I went to the emergency room where they sent me home on erythromycin. A day later, is was much worse and had spread down my leg, up my buttocks and below the knee. I went to my GP who then prescribed me clindamycin on top of the erythromycin and codeine for pain. When I was only taking erythromycin, my stomach was hardly upset, if at all.
Avatar m tn My 2 year old got a Stye last week and my husband took him to the Dr. He was prescribed Clindamycin. This seems very strong to me and I don't really see much on the internet as this being something prescribed. Can you tell my why this might be prescribed by a doctor in a pediatric patient with his first stye? Thanks so much.
Avatar m tn since that day, i sweared that i will not prescribe clindamycin(or at least with 4timed daily dosing!!!!
72351 tn?1281992542 it does sound like an infection, but in my opinion, it is too risky to give the baby the clindamycin w/ out taking him/her to the vet. Way too risky and clindamycin might not be the correct antibiotic for the kitten's problem. Please come back w/ an update. Wishing the best for the kitten.
Avatar f tn I took bactrim and after 5 1/2 days had an intense allergic reaction of a burning sensation, needle pricking and numbness. They put me on clindamycin. I continued to have reactions, so guess they couldn't tell if it was the bactrim still in my system or also being allergic to clindamycin. Anyway, I was on some sort of antibiotic for 71/2 to 8 days. It's been 2 weeks since I stopped the 800mg/160mg 2x a day bactrim and the burning sensation is still there but much milder.
Avatar f tn So on the 19th, My wife was in a world of pain and really swollenafter 5 days of antibiotics. She’d taken amoxicillin and clindamycin and neither helped. She went to the surgeon and he did an I&D and extracted the tooth. He switched her to augmentin. By Monday the pain was worse, she couldn’t swallow, the cheek was bigger and she’d developed cellulitis so we went to the ED. They admitted her and on Tuesday they did another I&D and extracted 2 more teeth. They put a drain in as well.
Avatar n tn Clindamycin side effects diarrhea that is watery or bloody; fever, chills, body aches, flu symptoms, sores in your mouth and throat A side effect is usually regarded as an undesirable secondary effect which occurs in addition to the desired therapeutic effect of a drug or medication. Side effects may vary for each individual depending on the person's disease state, age, weight, gender, ethnicity and general health. dear, drug side effect shows at theraputic dose not in doctors mistake.
Avatar n tn I do not wish to alarm you, but you may be developing a cellulitis especially if there was no drainage into the tooth with an abscess that has been present for quite some time. Amoxcillin is a good antibiotic, but I find that with more aggressive strains of bacteria, Clindamycin 300-450 mg every six hours for a week is required.
Avatar f tn odds are this is a hsv1 infection on your breasts. if it's a new infection for you, it might not show up on the igg blood test for a few weeks or months ( if at all ). odds are this is a newly acquired infection - from your lack of prior history of similar symptoms on your breast. it would've come from your husband's mouth whether he had an obvious cold sore or not ( or if he can even recall ever having had one ).
Avatar m tn ve went to the doctor last Sunday (July 31st) and have been taking antibiotics (Clindamycin) for the past 10 days (still taking them) and I just got my recheck today (August 9th). I feel way much better. No pain, no fevers, etc. The abscess is really small, like dots. I asked if it was contagious when I was there and the person I asked told me "as long as you're getting better, it shouldn't be contagious".
Avatar f tn Today I decided to get a second opinion and went to Doctors Care and they took one look in my nose and without hesitation diagnosed me with cellulitis (staph infection). I was prescribed Doxycycline Hyclate 100MG tablets and also they administered a shot of antibiotics and gave me a prescription for Bactroban nasal ointment. Seems this is a really serious infection that can spread to your brain if not treated and thanks to my own gut feeling I got a second opinion.
Avatar m tn I presented with only one sore at my cheekbone and was given clindamycin orally for 14 days and Bactroban ointment for topical use. The sore was believed to be an early indication of MRSA. I quickly developed cellulitis and swelling near, but not touching, the apparent abscess, as well as blisters in my nose. I used the mupiricin.(Bactroban) to keep the nasal blisters moist. Now diagnosed with post-herpetic neuralgia, but I still have blisters in my nose treating with Bactroban.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone! I've had cellulitis for a many months now. My doctor first put me on Bactrim, and I had a rash all over my body and developed a fungal infenction as well. This was on day 8 of 10 on Bactrim. The doctor switched me to Keflex, and this time, that same day I got another rash all over my body. Then, she gave me a cream call Muciprocin, but i've been using it for over a week and see no improvement, although no rashes. Has this happened to anyone?
Avatar m tn However I used Bactroban + gentamycin + tumeric powder applied abundantly on the meatus then cover it up with a condom...Did it every 4 hrs after urination / beofre sleeping for the night. After 2-3 weeks, the cellulitis changed into episyphellas then fading away... In the mean time you have to ake Azithromycin 2g first day, 1g the next 3 days along with 4 weeks of vitamin C + doxycycling 2x100 mg/d...Or clindamycin 2x300 mg/d for at least 2 weeks... Good luck.
Avatar f tn i was on treatment of 2500 mg of antibiotic for 10 days for cellulitis...during treatment i was having diarrhea, nausea which i was told it was from treatment. i completeed treatment 1 week ago and i am still having nausea occasional vomit of mucous, loose stools and occasional severe abdominal cramps.. some days worse than others. could all of those mg of antibiotics have done damage to my stomach or intestant?
Avatar n tn i just found out she has these acne like spot on her face and shoulder. She say it body ance. I read the bottle of cream she uses and its Clindamycin. I looked it up and it say it is use to treat acne and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. Is methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus common in people who are hiv + ? She also has vigoligo. Couple week ago i broke out with the same kind of acne she has. I have test neg in june .
Avatar f tn I went to the ER, and was given clindamycin 150mg x12 a day. After 3 days, it was twice the size it was before, and very painful. I had an appointment with my doctor, and he took me off the clindamycin, and put me on penicillin. By that night, my jaw was 2 times the size it was that morning. I went to ER, and was told it was an abcess. They admitted me, and gave me iv antibiotics. My jaw kept getting bigger until the ENT came and did a I&D, which provided much needed relief.
Avatar n tn the next day the culture came back regular staph--not MRSA, but ER doc though cellulitis looked worse and called surgeon in to take a look. he poked around, said it was fine--and they had me start goping to wound care the next day. the cellulitis moved another inch down my arm after the surgeon poked around. I have been going to wound care for 2 1/2 weeks. I ran out of septra, but was still running a fever and still draining pus.
Avatar n tn has given me 10 days of clindamycin to be taken 3 times a day at a dose of 450 mgs. this is fine, i can take clindamycin with no ill effects. HOWEVER, i have read that this drug is not commonly used to treat std's as there are so many better options. Is clindamycin going to work??? Thanks.
Avatar m tn Hoping that Clindamycin will work...If the Clindamycin does not work...is there another medicine that could do the trick?
