hello, last week I developed a mild sore throat (burning feeling in the back of the throat), it lasted 2 days, and then develpped a slight dry cough. The sore throat went away when the cough began, very few times had a little productive cough, but very few times, no runny nose, maybe a very little micro nasal congestion for a day or two. Did not get a fever nos muscle aches.
The cough lasted around 4 or 5 days, then nothing else. Please give me some insight in what this could have been.

About 3 days after that I started getting a tightness in my chest and congestion, but not really a sore throat. The day after I had sex with my TS friend I french kissed a woman friend. My woman friend is now complaining of a sore throat 4 days after I kissed her. Is it possible I got throat gonorrhea from my TS friend and gave it to my woman friend by kissing her? Yep right there with ya...lots if decaf lemon tea with honey...a spoonful of honey on its own helps soothe your throat..doesn't last long but feels nice at the time. Children's liquid Tylenol helps soothe the throat too. I take 15ml and then one extra strength tablet. I was told that other than saline sinus rinse I wasn't allowed to take anything for congestion. But everyone seems to hear different things depending on your doctor. If coughing gets really bad puffers can be taken.
Hi ladies, iv been in bedrest since Tuesday due to bleeding, but on Wednesday morning I caught a cold/flu. Symptoms range from sore throat, congestion (even though congestion I had from day 1) sore body now and then and creating a cough now too. That irritating dry one. Is it dangerous for my baby? Hi! Iam currently 32 wks pregnant with my third and I recently got diagnosed with a upper respitory infection at a walk in clinic (not by my o.b.). What medications are safe to take to help alleviate symptoms if a sore throat, cough, congestion etc? I've been taking plain tylenol, cough drops, using a warm mist vaporizer with the liquid vicissitudes medicine you can put into it to help you breathe and I've been rubbing bucks vapor rub in my throat and chest. Any other suggestions???
I am now 35 weeks with my first and I have managed to come down with a terrible cold. Chest congestion cough runny nose sore throat whole 9 yards. I feel miserable and exhausted. I talked to my dr and said to take some benadryl and that's about it. Any other suggestions? I am miserable and don't wanna go into labor being sick!
What it feels like is the chronic post nasal drip I have has caused congestion in my upper chest. However, the weird part is, I really have no cough, and the occasional cough has never brought anything up. In the past, if my chest begins to feel this way, it is followed by the painful cough and coughing stuff up. I would not call what I have sometimes as pain, it feels more like irritation. When I am active, as well as when I drink a lot of water, it seems to be much better.
The persistent cough, along with the possible presence of lingering congestion, could be causing your upper airways and throat to be inflamed and sore. My symptoms initially began as a cold with chest congestion, extreme throat pain, fatigue, and a fever for the first two days. Almost all of those symptoms went away within one week and now I'm left with the sore throat. I also have post nasal drip so I'm wondering if this is causing the pain. I then started taking the vitamin again and all the symptoms of my strep throat came back. Severe sore throat with swelling, hurts intensly when i cough. I now even feel pain in my chest.
