Avatar f tn I notice there is a white head on the tip as well. really dont know what is it.. I have been taking antibiotics (a week) and cetirizine (one month) and isotrotinoin (few months time) for a while. That is strange as I assume cetirizine should help anti-allergy as doctor prescribed to me when I had other allergy on my skin - it occurs when my skin have pressure on it and it goes red and itchy, when you scatch it, it swells a big piece.
Avatar n tn I checked my favorite drug site and they are the same. OTC Zyrtec is essentially the same medication. Some people say that Xyzal is a more 'purified" form of the chemical. You can try Zyrtec to see if it works as well. Take care.

Avatar n tn Hives are usually allergic (food, medication and insect stings) but may also be due to infections and stress. Many a times no specific cause for them is ever found. They usually go away on their own, but sometimes oral antihistaminics such as cetirizine or loratidine (available over the counter) may be required. If your symptom is still present or bothering you, you should consult a doctor. Take care!

Avatar n tn Hi Hives are usually allergic (food, medication, cosmetics and insect stings) but may also be due to infections, heat, cold or stress((emotional/physical). Many a times no specific cause for them is ever found. They usually go away on their own after sometime, but in a few cases persist and medicine might be needed. The most commonly used oral treatments are antihistaminics (such as cetirizine, loratidine, benadryl available over the counter).
Avatar m tn For over a year I have been suffering with a changing rash. Several months before this all started I was stung fifty plus times on each arm by Asian Tiger Mosquitoes. two to three months later the rash broke out on my arms and legs, I had what appeared to be poison which went away and then reappeared. I did have contact with some bushes in the yard a week before the outbreak.

Avatar f tn My allergist from Cleveland clinic here in Coral Spring FL prescribe me CETIRIZINE 10MG 3 tablets a day for a month and then bring it down to 2 a day. I began with the treatment on March 2021 as today July 27/2021 I can tell you that I'm feeling 85% better before was every single day going to hell, today I'm not completely free, but feel much much better. Try it. CETIRIZINE is the same as ZYRTEC, but less expensive if a Dr. prescribed it . Good luck.
Avatar n tn My daughter is 5 years old and has ADHD. She recently went on Concerta, multivitamins, then her PCP prescribed cetirizine as well for hay fever that I didn't even realize she had. A month later, the PCP scheduled a cardiology check for the Concerta meds; the pediatric cardiologist discovered my daughter had PACs. None of the other doctors/nurses noticed the arrhythmias on previous exams which surprised the cardiologist.
Avatar n tn Hello there, Welcome to the allergy forum. I see you joined Med help this month. You say you have taken the xyzal tablets for 5 years. That's a long time to be taking a medication. Here is what I would suggest. I would make an appointment with the doctor who prescribed the xyzal tablets for you. I would tell your doctor what you just shared in your post. That if you do not take the tablet for more than a day, you experience itchiness all over your body especially on your arms and legs.
Avatar m tn You can take non-sedating antihistamines such as Cetirizine(Zyrtec) or Loratadine(Claritin) to get symptom relief. Sedating antihistamines such as Chlorphenamine(Benadryl) is used at night to get urticaria control. Short courses of oral cortisone or steroids are taken for short periods (one to three days) to settle more severe symptoms. You may take Vitamin C and apply calamine lotion on the rashes.

Avatar f tn Hello, I have an issue with itchy bumps that turn into blisters. It began a bit over a week ago, and I thought they were mosquito bites at first, but I kept getting more and never noticed a single mosquito. After a few days the bumps turn into small blisters that slowly grow until they're a 1-3 mm (not sure yet what happens later), or if they break they just dry up and leave a little mark.
