Common Questions and Answers about Cetirizine and benadryl together

zyrtec

Avatar f tn Did they disappear? If she continues to have them, I'd consider doing allergy testing on her to see what caused them. Benadryl works for a lot of people. It agitates me/activates me so I can't take it but it works pretty well for hives.
Avatar f tn I notice there is a white head on the tip as well. really dont know what is it.. I have been taking antibiotics (a week) and cetirizine (one month) and isotrotinoin (few months time) for a while. That is strange as I assume cetirizine should help anti-allergy as doctor prescribed to me when I had other allergy on my skin - it occurs when my skin have pressure on it and it goes red and itchy, when you scatch it, it swells a big piece.
Avatar f tn Last wek I got red and itching eyes, since then my entire face has become red, itchy and burning with some swelling. My neck now have become red and blotchy and is starting to itch. I've chanaged to new cosmetics incase something was old or wrong with them, this has not helped. Last year I had an allergy test and was told I wasn't allergic to anything. My diet has not changed. Please Help. Thank You!
Avatar m tn I found that the All Day Allergy pill 10 mg is working because it is Cetirizine and it works for 24 hours, but I also found at my home that we have Zyrtec also. But it is Cetirizine HCL 10 mg. What is the difference?
Avatar f tn He told me to take one a day but i been taking them for two days and i feel a little better and some has gone away but my hands and feet got very swollen and hurtful. i dont know what it is and its scaring me because I've never been the type of person that has allergic reactions?
Avatar n tn The most commonly used oral treatments are antihistaminics (such as cetirizine, loratidine, benadryl available over the counter). The condition will most likely resolve after a few hours of taking these medication. However, if the symptoms persist or increase in frequency or intensity or you experience any difficulty in breathing or sweating etc, you should immediately consult a doctor. Do write in if you need any other information.
Avatar m tn I read somewhere that vitamin c helps boost the immune system and have been eating oranges on a daily basis since the rash, I used benadryl for a day and a half and it did make me stop itching momentarily but did not knock off the rash completely, I still itch.
Avatar n tn You should try moisturizing lotions and some over-the-counter antihistaminics like cetirizine or loratidine. Anti-itch creams such as diphenhydramine (benadryl) may provide relief. If a rash still bothers you, go see your doctor. Take care.
Avatar f tn I told my doctor about how I itch at night and he said I should try Benadryl to help but one pill didn't do anything on the box it says I can take two but idk if I should being pregnant pease help and soon itching driving me crazy!!
Avatar m tn ok so for the past week every morning when I wake up my feet start itching, then the back of my calves itch. I usually spot a couple of small bumps which then spread all over my legs and turn into hives. Around my knees the hives are clustered and raised and flat. And on my thighs my skin becomes discolored and there are white splotches everywhere with a hive in the middle. I'll usually take a benadryl and it'll go away, but I'm sick of taking it.
Avatar n tn The most commonly used oral treatments are over the counter antihistaminics (such as cetirizine, loratidine, benadryl available over the counter). The rash should however not be scratched or tampered in any way as this may lead to secondary complications such as infections. However, if the symptoms persist or increase in frequency or intensity or your daughter experiences any difficulty in breathing or sweating etc, you should immediately consult a doctor.
Avatar f tn These medications include fexofenadine and cetirizine. But they should always be taken under medical supervision. Moreover you may try calamine lotion on the rash. You should also maintain hygiene and try to keep the area clean and dry, wear loose-fitting cotton clothing. Also use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove.Avoid deodorant / cosmetics. You can also steroid creams after a doctor’s guidance and also consult your doctor regarding alternative drugs to Cymbalta.
Avatar n tn Sometimes double conventional doses of these non-sedating antihistamines such as Cetirizine(zyrtec), Loratadine(Claritin) and Fexofenadine may be needed to get symptom relief.Apply mild corticosteroid cream like dermacort on the rash.It should help. If the symptoms still persist then pls contact your doctor as oral steroids may be needed. If you have any respiratory difficulty, palpitation or wheezing along with, then pls contact ER immediately. It could be anaphylaxis.
Avatar f tn Woke up 2 hours later feeling like my body was being poked by pins,it was hot and terribly itchy on my back, leg and head and I was wheezing. Used my inhaler took Benadryl and Allegra and used the hydrocortisone 1% cream all over. Bingo, I must be allergic to the tramadol. I am stopping it today!!!
Avatar n tn Hives (medically known as urticaria) are red, itchy, raised areas of skin that appear in varying shapes and sizes. They have a tendency to change size rapidly and to move around, disappearing in one place and reappearing in other places, often in a matter of hours. Many cases of hives are "idiopathic," meaning no cause is known. Others may be triggered by viral infections or medications.
Avatar n tn Hence, Systemic antihistamines (injection is preferred) and antipruritics such as hydroxyzine or cetirizine against prescription may be helpful. Even addition of corticosteroids has possible benefits. I suggest you to consult dermatologist for further evaluation and treatment. Take care and regards.

Avatar n tn I used the bathroom while I was out there and now my groin is itchy and is slightly reddish. the skin on the left side of my scrotum has becom wrinkled and feels thick. Under my left eye it is slightly red and puffy with itching. I dont have any blisters or anything like that but I believe it may be just a mild reaction from the leaf. Am looking for advice on what this could be.
Avatar n tn I take a 24 hour allergy pill each morning and by the time I go to bed at night I am too itchy to sleep so end up taking a benadryl. I have allergies to dust, mold, trees, grass, ragweed, etc. and know I do have some food allergies that I hope to uncover soon. The one I have found is shellfish which makes me oh so itchy beyond what I normally am. I did do a diet that a Naturopath put me on to eliminate yeast from my body (no dairy, sugars, yeast, wheat, gluten) and I did feel better.
Avatar m tn They usually go away on their own, but in a few serious cases, medicine might be needed. The most commonly used oral treatments are antihistaminics (such as cetirizine, loratidine, benadryl available over the counter). However, if the symptoms persist or increase in frequency or intensity or you experience any difficulty in breathing or sweating etc, you should immediately consult a doctor. Also use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove.Avoid deodorant / cosmetics.
Avatar f tn This afternoon I noticed a rash on both of my hips and the top of one of my legs. Several hours later, the rash has progressed across my stomach and almost down to both knees and now I also have places on my arms, back and neck. At first the rash didn't itch or have any other symptom, but now as it spreads it has an intense itch and there is a buring degree with it.
