My good friend has a son that keeps buying cough syrup and drinking it like water. He tells his mom, (my friend) that he has a cold, but she says he doesn't seem sick and wonders if he is drinking the stuff to get a high. Her son is 16 yrs. old. She asked my advice, but I don't know much about it, so I told her I would do some research.

I took robtussin dm for diabetics and I was around that many weeks when I took it.

Halls cough drops and Robitussin dm the yucky syrup. I know it ***** but it helped me and I had a haggard cough with some nasty mucous.

Chest congestion and coughing- robitussin DM, Trind-dm, vicks cough syrup. Sore throat - cepastat lozenges, cepacol. Allergies- benadryl, claritin. My ob gives out this list of over the counter. Hope this helps.

I think Robitussin DM is okay. I have a pvcs's and pac's and svt and can take it. My doc told me to take that. You can always call the pharmacy and check too.

My dr gave me a list of meds that said i can take sudafed, dimetapp extend tabs, plain robitussin cough syrup or robitussin dm for a cold n cough

You can take robitussin cough syrup, just the original though no "DM" or other extra stuff. Zyrtec, claritin, and sudafed are all ok too.

No, but now I take Rondec-DM (rx), I think it's a mind thing, kind of replacing one with another...I was on that Alka-seltzer for YEARS...it's a wonder my heart didn't explode with all the aspirin and sodium alone..combined with heavy drinking and other assorted stuff...

The robitusson to use is the type that has absolutely no other active ingredients. No DM, no anything...just plain old robitussin. And make sure you stop it as soon as you O. Lots of luck!!!

t find any that just use brown rice syrup or maple syrup. I realize there might be more expensive and might not be at supercenters, but I will go whereever I need to to find the food I want to eat. I'd really really appreciate it. Thanks !

If cough present, Robitussen DM only no others from them, just DM.

re not trained in natural substances, so finding the exact answer to your question is difficult and probably would require some research given the large number of ingredients in the syrup and the large number of drugs you're taking. m not sure if the ingredient list above is accurate to what is in your cough syrup. If you post those ingredients and if it says what they are for ex. expectorant vs decongestant etc. I would be able to give you a better response. Rule of thumb is that if the medication can cause dry mouth or drying up of other secretions then it can certainly dry up cervical mucus. If it thins others then it often thins cervical mucus etc.
