Avatar f tn This works well to control my tachy....but, has bad side effects of anxiety, restlessness and agitation. I lookd up Bystolic..and it has none of these type side effects listed. 1933354 tn?1323362834 I am on day 7 of the beta, I do feel a huge difference, a lot less anxiety, all my physical symptoms of anxiety are gone. However, I am noticing some effects of the beta blocker, such as heavy legs, really tired, tightness in chest. Some people are telling me this can't be the beta blocker, and that I should stick out my 30 day regiment. Has anyone experienced this medication for anxiety before? I am debating if I should get off this or not.
1217309 tn?1267050177 i went to the doctor today and he switched me Metroplol XR to Bystolic 5mg for my PVCs. I looked the medicine up as usual and it said on one of the websites not to take Bystolic if you have an irregular heartbeat(I know I shouldn't have been searching the internet) Does anyone have any exerience with this? Also he gave me Lexapro to help with that anxiety over these anyone had sucess with this, I heard it can be quite nasty. Thanks!
Avatar n tn What could be causing this? Could it be the bystolic? My former doc put me on bystolic because it is not suppose to caused ED issues. Could it be psychological reasons i'm having ED? A combination of both psychological reasons and the Bystolic? It is hard for me to imagine that my ED would be due to low testosterone or some physiological cause. I am in excellent shape and after all I am young (27). I get health insurance through my new employer February 1st. of this year.
Avatar m tn I also felt bad joint pain and gained a significant amount of weight during the month I was on Bystolic (about 10 to 15 pounds). I researched Bystolic and found that all these symptoms occur in other people who take Bystolic, and so I decided to get off of it (with the permission of the other doctors). I gradually weaned off of the medicine over a period of a little over two weeks. I stopped taking it on June 16.
Avatar f tn until they finally hit on a new medication by Bystolic! I hit the jackpot, it was like night and day! I take 20 mg in the morning with 125 mg of magnesium taurate then 5mg of Norvasc for HTN then take 10 mg of by Bystolic at night with 125 mg of magnesium taurate in between I take .5 Xanax in the morning and at night I have not had one PVC in the last three years I feel like a different human being!
Avatar n tn I recently stopped the flecainide and have had no significant a-fib that I can discern, although some skipped beats. I do continue to take bystolic and azor for high blood pressure. However, since discontinuing the flecanide, I have had what I would describe as a pounding heartbeat (not rapid), dizziness, and consistent blood pressure readings of 140s/50s.
Avatar m tn The tachycardia is bad enough that I take bystolic 1.25 mg daily. If I didnt I would have days were just sitting up in bed could make my heart beat faster. Going for a walk could make my heart race really fast. So Im glad bystolic works. Today however I have been lifing some moderately heavys stuff and I get palpitations so Im now considering a little more Bystolic. I would like to hear from others with IST, to hear how they cope, and if they also get anxiety when the pulse is racing.
Avatar n tn My experience during the past couple of months with BYSTOLIC (5 mg) are excellent heart rate control, no gastro issues, anti anxiety effect and good sleep. The negative effects have been knee pain, stiff and heavy legs, especially when using stairs, low libido (loss of morning erections), and fatigue. I 've also experienced some weight gain, higher cholesterol, and my blood pressure is not being controlled too well.
Avatar f tn Palpitations, it is my understanding, are pretty normal for everyone and happen often due to anxiety. You are being treated for anxiety. So, it could be because of the anxiety and not the buspar. How ARE your anxiety symptoms, by the way. We aren't seeing a huge impact for my son. However, it COULD be the buspar. This article suggests that buspar can raise blood pressure through activation of the sympathetic nervous system. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.
Avatar f tn (on Bystolic, normal HR around 85-95 for 20 years, now running around 120-130 off the Bystolic. Need to come off Bystolic due to having severe burning/tingling in legs). I have sleep apnea, TMJ and teeth grinding, Hypoglycemia. Shaking/feel like my entire body is shaking, Starting in Oct/Nov 07 what the Dr.
Avatar f tn I've been on bystolic for about a month and a half. I've had some dizziness and a little fatigue. No problems sleeping or anything like that, though. I was previously on metoprolol and had awful nightmares, way worse dizziness and light headedness, heavy leg sensations, etc. Bystolic has been way better for me. Best of luck to you!
Avatar f tn My husband has been having night time episodes for the last 4 months. He is a 25 yoa male. He wakes up feeling like he needs to take a deep breath. He then notices that his heart is pounding out of his chest. I've seen his pulse range from 90-160 during these episodes. His blood pressure also increases ranging from 140/80 to as high as 200/100. He then started having a resting HR and BP that were higher then average. He only has these episodes at night.
Avatar m tn My Cadiologist Recently prescribed Bystolic 5 Mg tablets I per day . I have since begun having dizzy spells Can they be a side effect from the Bystolic?
Avatar m tn •Have a slow heartbeat or your heart skips beats (irregular heartbeat) I'm guessing that my doctor thinks my heart palpitations are not considered an irregular heartbeat? I'll ask him but I found this a little scary.
Avatar n tn I do not feel as bad on Bystolic as metoprolo, I seem to have more dizzyness on Bystolic. I do get some chest discomfort while on Bystolic that the metoprolo kept at bay.
15256956 tn?1439425231 Aaaaah! I feel like a walking Irwin Allen film. 39 year old Male, overweight with high blood pressure (controlled), sleep apnea and under constant barrage of PVC's and PAC's. I'm 242 lbs. Back in 2010 I had a nuclear stress test as a routine investigation into my heart and it came back abnormal so off to the hospital I went for a Heart Cath. I was very much relieved when the Cardiologist there said my arteries were clean and normal. No heart disease.
Avatar f tn I have severe POCS, thinning hair, Dry Skin/Dry, Brittle Hair/Dry Scalp, Starting in Oct 07 shaking/feel like my body is continuously shaking, Starting in Oct/Nov 07 what the Dr. thinks may be Anxiety and/or panic episodes, (I wondered if it's not thyroid or hormonal issues), HBP (taking Cardizem 240), high heart rate (on Bystolic, have had heart rate around 85-95 for at least 20 years, but now running around 120-130 off the Bystolic.
Avatar f tn My doctor recently switched me to Bystolic - and I was given "samples" for a month but no instruction sheet or counter-indications as far as drug interaction. Would there be any problem with the above that I am taking and this drug? Also, I just lost (and want to continue to lose weight) 16 pounds on a diet program and don't want to regain that weight! Does Bystolic cause weight gain?
Avatar m tn s office were done by a human. During my visit with my Doctor, he changed my BP medicine from 50MG of Atenolol to 5MG of Bystolic. Since a few days after the change, I often feel very flushed in the face, forgetful, confusion, seem to lose my train of thought more frequently, change in bowel movement.......With all that said, I guess my major question is are these some of the side effects when taking Bystolic? Should I go back to my Doctor and request he put me back on Atenolol?

Avatar n tn Recently my doc placed me on the Beta Blocker Bystolic. Week one was 5mg. Week 2 was 10mg and week three was the final ramped up dose of 20mg. I was fine on the 5 and 10 mg tablets but felt like crap in the morning after taking the 20mg tablet. The doc allowed me to cut the 20mg tablet in half until our next apt at which time he prescribed Carvedilol 25 mg twice a day. Anyone have any insight as to why he might have done that?
Avatar m tn Hey guys, whenever I read about acebutolol in treating pvcs and bystolic, I hear mainly positive things. Is anyone on here on these blockers !!, if so whats your experience. I aked my cardio Dr. about Acebutolol, he said its something he wouldnt usualy prescribe for pvcs because it doesn't slow down the heart and the common belief is a slower heart induced by a beta blocker is supposed to reduce pvcs,, but people claim that this stuff works.
Avatar n tn I am a 63 female taking 10 mg Bystolic once in the evening. I have been taking it for a year now and lately have been feeling light headed and slightly dizzy in the mornings when I wake up and then throughout the day. Is this a side effect of this drug? It was prescribed mainly for the rapid heart beats.
Avatar n tn Bystolic is a blood pressure drug. I have been on Bystolic for 2 yrs and have never had a problem with sweating. It can be a heart related problem.
