Sometimes I have a weird sensation that my heart is beating too slow. The only other meds I take are an ocassional Klonopin for anxiety and Flonase for nasal allergies.
I take the Bystolic 5mg daily with my breakfast and by lunchtime, I'm exhausted. I called and left a message w/ my Doc to see if I should continue - pharmacist says, yes! you can get sleepy. I was just looking for some thoughts amongst ya'all. Be well - feel good!
Blockers are not first choice treatment for hypertension but bystolic is okay, so a bit puzzled with your comment. And as you may know some people find a substantial decrease in panic and anxiety attacks when their hypertension is brought under control.
However, if you are not comfortable with it there are different classes of medicaitons that are prescribed specifically for anxiety. Also, we are already nervous and can tend to focus on the potential side effects much more intently, in my experience with anxiety. Keep us posted!

I looked the medicine up as usual and it said on one of the websites not to take Bystolic if you have an irregular heartbeat(I know I shouldn't have been searching the internet) Does anyone have any exerience with this? Also he gave me Lexapro to help with that anxiety over these anyone had sucess with this, I heard it can be quite nasty. Thanks!

I hope you find the info you want regarding Coreg and Bystolic and that you will share it with us once you figure it out. My doctor also started me on Coreg due to VT and he says it is also prophylactic for my focal cardiomyopathy. I'm curious, why do you say beta blockers shouldn't be prescribed for high BP? I don't take them for that, but know many who do. Thanks!
In fact, after I ate out the other night, my panic/anxiousness increased (maybe to a 4 on scale of 10) and my little brain made a connection between the food and the anxiety. I immediately started to fixate on my digestion process and noticed many small burps. I started to think I had diabetes! I had a bit of caffeine but nothing carbonated to drink at dinner.
I have always had very mild anxiety, but the PVCs have really made my anxiety soar and now I am having panic attacks. For me, the anxiety has been reduced by maintaining my blood sugar (eating regularly), and taking some vitamin supplements (magnesium, Fish Oil with Black Currant Oil, and a regular multi). I have also found that drinking OJ or taking a vitamin C when I start feeling PVC's helps. I have had an echo, blood work, and a holter. Everything is normal minus PVCs.
I will call my doctor in the am to speak to him and see what I should do but I wanted some thoughts on this. I feel as though my anxiety is high because I am stopping this drug and don't know what to expect so maybe the B/P is a little elevated from the anxiety I feel. Thanks.
I stopped Lisinopril on Tuesday (Dr said OK) and Bystolic two days ago and anxiety even worse. Only way I can get to sleep is drink myself to relax and then I only sleep for two hours. Is this a case of the Lisinopril giving me anxiety when I used it and the Bystolic now because I am not? I think it should be out of my system shortly. Doctor out of office for weekend.
My blood work has been normal. I have been prescribed Bystolic 10mg once a day and Xanex whenever I feel that I need to take it. I have a 12yr old to raise, lost my husband at the age of 39 with Ishemic Heart Disease and now I am really worried all the time. Should I be concerned or is it "all in my head?
Everday I had severe anxiety and bouts of depression mild to moderate and racing thoughts. Since november I am seeing a psychologist but it is not helping so much. I decided to take the medicine route for my anxiety (and depression) but I had to arrange an apointment with the psychiatrist first. About 2 weeks ago I went to my GP and he gave me 1.5 mg of Bromazepam (Lexotan; a benzo) for the anxiety and reffered me to a psychiatrist for further evaluation.
maybe its from the bystolic i was breaking the pill and taking like a 1/4 of a 5 mg pill thats not much and if it ddint work i would later take another 1/4 the nurse said i was proberlu doing more harm than good..........
However whenever I do any cardio my heart rate shoots up and stays there for hours on end, making me feel dizzy and sick; even walking to and from my classes at university causes this. Reading that sinus arrhythmia is supposedly a good thing in young people I am worried that perhaps something else is wrong with me. I just want to be able to get outside and be active again, is there anything special I should be doing? Thanks!
The last was bystolic and cardizeam. The meds were not working and the side effects from the bystolic were horrible....The cardiologist took me off all meds. My symptoms are worse. I have now started fainting and very light headed. The palpitations are constant. I am always tired. Now I have a squeezing in my chest with pain. The cardiologist wants to do another ablation. He dismisses my pain as heart burn and Im telling you its not Heart Burn!
Oh I was also on a new BP med, Bystolic, and I thought that could have caused the chills and fatigue. Now I am suffering anxiety disorder from reading too much info and I promise not to be stupid ever again! I have read that studies on oral sex showed mixed results from zero to ?eight percent transmission rate in MSM. 1) Can acute HIV symptoms happen only after 4 days? or mines are more likely a cold?
Have been having anxiety and panic attacks with tachycardia and skipped beats for about 1 year now. I am really sensitive to meds now but never before that. I have only tried to be on thyroid meds for for the past 3 weeks but am really afraid of them now they make me feel really wired out. Thank you for your reply and any info you can give me.
for the past 2 weeks,i have been going to walmart walgreens and rite aid and have been sitting down for 5 minutes and then putting my arm in the cuff and measuring my vital signs. my systolic blood pressure was always 160-180 and i never had a reading lower than 160. my diastolic was anywhere from 99-105. my heart rate was from 110-128 all the time. i have had many lab tests and everything is fine..metabolic panel and thyroid and i had a cardiac workup which was fine too.
Does anybody have a better Beta Blocker to suggest for just lowering the heart rate and with out so many of the other side effects ....especially the breathing and anxiety problems. I dont need it for BP....which is ok by itself. Right now Im in Beta BLocker hell. I see my doctor in a week. Again this is for heart rate only....not for BP. Im having a lot of breathing difficulties on the metoprolol.
When I start getting the hunger feeling I worry that my blood sugar is low and that sends me into an anxiety attack. The pain also sends me into an anxiety attack because it hurts so bad and I don't know what's going on. The lack of sleep, no exercise, weight gain, constant eating, and inability to go out are ruining my life and making my anxiety worse. I've been taking 40mg of Pepcid AC every day for a month and I don't think it's helping.
besides synthroid i take celexa, prevacid, and bystolic. i take them over the course of the day. and sometimes i take allergy meds and antibiotics. anyway that is why i take the iron at night. and its starting to work just a bit, i have a little more energy.
now its not for everyone but if your dr suggested it , it should be ok to try it. im on celexa and it does nothing for my anxiety. and im on synthroid and i hope one day to have energy. i hope you feel better soon.
Most likely it is anxiety, I have generalized anxiety disorder my BP was in the 160s as well in the doctors office he did a thorough round of tests and determined i have white coat hypertension and anxiety i am on two anxiety medications and my BP is always normal at home. I am 20, and my doctor basically told me given my family history and such there was almost no way i actually had hypertension at my age.
I recently stopped the flecainide and have had no significant a-fib that I can discern, although some skipped beats. I do continue to take bystolic and azor for high blood pressure. However, since discontinuing the flecanide, I have had what I would describe as a pounding heartbeat (not rapid), dizziness, and consistent blood pressure readings of 140s/50s.
About 3 years ago this night mare started a flush then rise in blood pressure and rapid heart beat pounding out of my chest, the docs tried to say it was anxiety, gave me ativan lexapro and zannex, and told me I would feel better in the morning, all that did was make me feel worse, went to emergency rooms so much that they wanted to put me in a mental hospital, I told them it was not anxiety, then a cardiologist took me off all that stuff, ran all the test couldn't find anything that was causin
