Also, we are already nervous and can tend to focus on the potential side effects much more intently, in my experience with anxiety. Keep us posted!
Avatar f tn Palpitations, it is my understanding, are pretty normal for everyone and happen often due to anxiety. You are being treated for anxiety. So, it could be because of the anxiety and not the buspar. How ARE your anxiety symptoms, by the way. We aren't seeing a huge impact for my son. However, it COULD be the buspar. This article suggests that buspar can raise blood pressure through activation of the sympathetic nervous system. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.
1217309 tn?1267050177 i went to the doctor today and he switched me Metroplol XR to Bystolic 5mg for my PVCs. I looked the medicine up as usual and it said on one of the websites not to take Bystolic if you have an irregular heartbeat(I know I shouldn't have been searching the internet) Does anyone have any exerience with this? Also he gave me Lexapro to help with that anxiety over these anyone had sucess with this, I heard it can be quite nasty. Thanks!
Avatar m tn Most likely it is anxiety, I have generalized anxiety disorder my BP was in the 160s as well in the doctors office he did a thorough round of tests and determined i have white coat hypertension and anxiety i am on two anxiety medications and my BP is always normal at home. I am 20, and my doctor basically told me given my family history and such there was almost no way i actually had hypertension at my age.
Avatar f tn My doctor recently switched me to Bystolic - and I was given "samples" for a month but no instruction sheet or counter-indications as far as drug interaction. Would there be any problem with the above that I am taking and this drug? Also, I just lost (and want to continue to lose weight) 16 pounds on a diet program and don't want to regain that weight! Does Bystolic cause weight gain?
Avatar f tn Blockers are not first choice treatment for hypertension but bystolic is okay, so a bit puzzled with your comment. And as you may know some people find a substantial decrease in panic and anxiety attacks when their hypertension is brought under control.
Avatar m tn for the past 2 weeks,i have been going to walmart walgreens and rite aid and have been sitting down for 5 minutes and then putting my arm in the cuff and measuring my vital signs. my systolic blood pressure was always 160-180 and i never had a reading lower than 160. my diastolic was anywhere from 99-105. my heart rate was from 110-128 all the time. i have had many lab tests and everything is fine..metabolic panel and thyroid and i had a cardiac workup which was fine too.
Avatar f tn until they finally hit on a new medication by Bystolic! I hit the jackpot, it was like night and day! I take 20 mg in the morning with 125 mg of magnesium taurate then 5mg of Norvasc for HTN then take 10 mg of by Bystolic at night with 125 mg of magnesium taurate in between I take .5 Xanax in the morning and at night I have not had one PVC in the last three years I feel like a different human being!
1272987 tn?1274671710 However whenever I do any cardio my heart rate shoots up and stays there for hours on end, making me feel dizzy and sick; even walking to and from my classes at university causes this. Reading that sinus arrhythmia is supposedly a good thing in young people I am worried that perhaps something else is wrong with me. I just want to be able to get outside and be active again, is there anything special I should be doing? Thanks!
Avatar n tn I recently stopped the flecainide and have had no significant a-fib that I can discern, although some skipped beats. I do continue to take bystolic and azor for high blood pressure. However, since discontinuing the flecanide, I have had what I would describe as a pounding heartbeat (not rapid), dizziness, and consistent blood pressure readings of 140s/50s.
116881 tn?1189755823 My Dr just took me off of Hyzaar and has put me on 5 mgs of Bystolic per day to control skipped beats and my HBP. Well, the skips are much better but my pressure is still up and my pulse is really low for me -- like in the mid 50's!!! I feel like garbage. I have only been on it for a week. My Dr wants me to stick it out a little longer. So her I am needing take one today for my BP but my pulse is sooooo low. ANyone else on Bystolic? Will this get better?
Avatar m tn So Im glad bystolic works. Today however I have been lifing some moderately heavys stuff and I get palpitations so Im now considering a little more Bystolic. I would like to hear from others with IST, to hear how they cope, and if they also get anxiety when the pulse is racing. I also suffer from dizziness but I dont know if this is related.
Avatar n tn My experience during the past couple of months with BYSTOLIC (5 mg) are excellent heart rate control, no gastro issues, anti anxiety effect and good sleep. The negative effects have been knee pain, stiff and heavy legs, especially when using stairs, low libido (loss of morning erections), and fatigue. I 've also experienced some weight gain, higher cholesterol, and my blood pressure is not being controlled too well.
Avatar f tn I have repeatedly asked for testing for Thyroid problems due to the multiple symptoms that I have. My labs (which my Dr.s usually only check the TSH level) usually are in the normal range, although, many times they are only a few tenths in range of what the labs consider to be the normal range. The TSH test (over 18 months ago) by GP (at my request and only tested TSH) came back .39 on a range of .35-5.0, retested 1 month later (by OB/GYN at my insistence and only tested TSH) results were .
Avatar f tn My husband has been having night time episodes for the last 4 months. He is a 25 yoa male. He wakes up feeling like he needs to take a deep breath. He then notices that his heart is pounding out of his chest. I've seen his pulse range from 90-160 during these episodes. His blood pressure also increases ranging from 140/80 to as high as 200/100. He then started having a resting HR and BP that were higher then average. He only has these episodes at night.
3086858 tn?1340852861 s impossible to give you a specific recommendation without looking at all your test, but in general it is extremely important to specify what type of tachycardia you have to justify a high dose of Bystolic. A high dose of beta blocker (BB) by itself (e.g. Bystolic) can produce extreme fatigue in some patients. If you have sinus tachycardia it should not be treated with BB.

Avatar m tn I take Bystolic too and I have also noticed a weight gain. I too haven't changed my eating habits. I am beginning to think it's the Bystolic because I usually can lose weight very easily, but I can't lose it now at all no matter what I do. You mentioned your systolic readings, mine do the same thing in the afternoons.
Avatar m tn My Cadiologist Recently prescribed Bystolic 5 Mg tablets I per day . I have since begun having dizzy spells Can they be a side effect from the Bystolic?
Avatar m tn I have been taking bystolic for several years and for me it seems to work much better than atenolol or lopressor, without all the side effects. I have had to up my dosage a couple of times and right at first my stomach will feel a little off and I may get a very slight headache but it goes away quickly.
Avatar n tn My wife took Bystolic and had a stroke the next morning. They put her on Clot buster so she didn't take it for 4 days. She took it and had another stroke.
