Bumps on tonsils

Common Questions and Answers about Bumps on tonsils

bumps

Mine have all kinds of crevices and bumps. Is that normal? 3. I had my tonsils checked out 3 years ago because I noticed a little bump on the right tonsil that wasn't on the left tonsil. The ENT I went to saw it too and wasn't really worried but sent me to get a cat scan anyway. Everything came back fine on the CAT scan. I was just there again for a sore throat that was lasting a little over a week so he checked them again.

I looked in my mouth to see if anything was noticeably wrong, and I noticed about five little bumps - two on one side and three on the other - on either side of my tonsil [ I mean the thing that hangs down in the back of your mouth]. They are the same color as the rest of the inside of my mouth. The last time I gave oral sex [I am female] was about 4 months ago, and that was my first sexual partner.
I had a sore throat yesterday and after I took some medicine it was fine. I took some medicine again today and my throat is in no pain. Is it still strange that I have white spots on my tonsils?
I've had swollen tonsils for about 2 weeks now and they haven't seemed to have gotten any smaller. The left tonsil is a bit larger than the right one which makes it a bit painful to swollow, simply because it's swollen. I don't actually have any pain at all, rather than my left ear hurting a bit, it's more annoying since I can feel that it's too big. I've been taking the typical advil liquids to try and calm down the swelling, and sucking on throat lozenges to ease any pain I do have.
I am wondering if anyone else (especially those that I discovered suffer with disgusting white bumps all over their tonsils) has by some strange means discovered huge holes in their tonsils?
MY tonsilS LOOK THEREY DIFFRENT FROM ONE ANOTHER and there are like bumps around the tonsil im just as copnfused as you might be plz help
Does anyone have an idea to what these tiny bumps could be all over both of my tonsils? While the right tonsil is much larger, both have these odd bumps on them. I found an on-line post that I did which stated that my right tonsil became enlarged in May of 2004. Over 2 yrs ago.
Two days ago I got a scratchy pain in my throat a few times in the day on the right side (usually when my throat was v dry i.e. just waking up on morning). I had a look in my mouth and the back of my throat was a bit red on the right side that was scratchy, not the tonsil but the bit just infront and neither tonsil looked swollen. It doesnt feel like a sore throat usually does, not sure if this is anything to be concerned about?
Would ARS cause severely inflammed tonsil with white bumps/pustules on them? I am trying to figure out if I have Mono like the doctor's say or if its actually ARS which I suspect it to be.

Hello and hope you are doing well. The bumps could be due to an infection or sometimes it could be simple cysts. If there is accompanying swelling, redness or pain, it could most probably be due to an infection. If it persists consult your doctor for an evaluation. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
I looked in the mirror after my strep was gone. My tonsils had flesh colored bumps going around them. Last week I have had a sore throat and my tonsils are swelling up again. The bumps aren't going away and I don't know what to do about them. Are they herpes? Or am I getting strep again? Please help.
Hi, I just wondered are tonsils perfectly round or are they shaped like cauliflowers with bumps on, I recently noticed that I have a white / fleshy coloured bump on my tonsil, but not the on the other tonsil, is there anything to be worried about? Should I have these checked out? What do tonsils usually look like? any pictures, information or advise you could give me would be much apprechiated, thank you. Peter V H.
Also, my tonsils do not hurt and are still swollen, thats why i'm worried because i've never had anything like this. About the bumps on my lip can they be warts or oral thrush of some sort?
I have had bumps on the base of my tongue on the lateral edge for some time. these bumps have white dots near them that expand into thing white rings. these bumps are most prominent at the base /back of my tongue. last year i went to my doc and told him i thought it was thrush, he didn't agree and told me it was nothing. at this time, i was tested for diabetes and hiv - both tests came back negative.
For the past 2 months I've been freaking out after reading about the link between high-risk HPV and Oral/Throat Cancer and this has been intensified by finding small, painless bumps under and on the far backside of my tongue and on the back of my uvula, along with losing my voice all in the past week. My bite is also now crooked, which could be from my lack of wearing a retainer after braces removal, the months of uvula swelling, or the fact that i grind my teeth when sleeping.

I am a 32 year old male.I have had small flesh colored bumps on my uvula for months now. I recently had my tonsils removed due to an enlarged tonsil. Biopsies came back negative for malignancy, negative fungal and negative HPV. I was told it was due to chronic infection. The bumps on my uvula were there before surgey and are still there now. they haven't really changed in size but I have noticed that there may be more appearing.
I ignored it until yesterday and found I just had a few red dots on it; the sensation was as if I had drank too much orange juice (which I just started to have a large glass every AM for 2 weeks prior to the bumps - since stopped this). When I had a better look, I seen that the large taste buds at the back of my tongue were raised quite a bit more than normal as well.
Hi there, yes this could well just be a virus or bug passing through your system and your tonsils are designed to filter these. Have you checked to see if you can find any small white/yellow bumps on the tonsils or coughed any up. These are called tonsil stones and are quite harmless but can cause the tonsils to enlarge slightly apparently and its basically food getting caught in the crypts on the tonsil surface.
When I took a closer look in the mirror, I noticed tiny clear bumps on my lips. Does anyone know what this is and what caused it? Also, how can I get it to go away?
I was tested back on December 22, 2009 and it came back that I ha Chlamydia and he got tasted to, and he told me he hasn't been with anyone since then. But now I have these white bumps on my tonsils and it looks to be further down my throat. It's also a little sore. So my question is, do I go get tested again or could it be something else?
I now have red lumps in the back of my throat. I still have the other symptoms. Inflamed tonsils, bump on gum, earache in left ear,and hoarseness. How does one know if this is throat cancer or allergies?
Sore throat and bumps on your tonsils does not mean you have HIV. However, because you engaged in unprotected vaginal and anal sex, you do need to be tested for HIV and other STDs. A test at 6 weeks will be about 90% accurate. A test at 3 months will be conclusive. In the meantime, you should see your doctor about your throat infection if it does not improve in the next few days. This will also give you an opportunity to speak to him/her about your encounter and what he/she would advise.
I had a swollen bump behind my ear for the last two days, when I woke up this morning there were two. I have also notice a bump on the back of my head that feels the same and hurts like the other two do. Anyone have any idea what's going on? I've heard about swollen lymph nodes behind the ears but nothing on the back of the head?
Does anyone know what would be the cause of white bumps on the back of the throat?
