Hi guys. I had a large colon resection on April 1st. So: it has been 17 days. I am tender around the area of the resection site. (lower left). It hurts when I move certain ways and also when I press in on it. Is this just part of the recovery time? My surgeon has very few office hours, so I thought I would ask you, my new pals, what you think.

Last April I had a colon resection after a tumor was removed. Stage 2a. I am on adjuvant therapy till Thanksgiving. I often get flat stools. Could this be due to scar tissue at the resection site, or should I worry about an extremely agressive cancer coming back since April? please advise.

I will be recieving oxaliplatin and I have read that it always causes some toe and finger numbness. Does anyone know if this can affect the use of the computer keyboard? I am also an artist and piano player. Will holding a small paintbrush or playing the keys be a problem?

It can also cause diarrhea (but to a lesser degree than Fluorouracil or Capecitabine) and neuropathy (numbness and tingling of hands and feet). All three drugs can cause a decrease in red blood cell, white blood cell and platelet counts. Use of the three drugs can also result in some degree of hair thinning, but you don't usually go bald with these medications. The above side effects are temporary, and symptoms usually disappear a month or two after the last chemotherapy session.

I will probably begin an adjuvant therapy with Folfox in 3 weeks. (port infusion). 1 day in the clinic and then two days with home infusion thru port. this will be every two weeks for 6 months. (Whew). My question is this: after the 3 day infusions and a possible "bad side effects day or two", will I feel a little better and more chipper towards the next no-treatment week? Thanks so much.

Okay ive been haveing this problem for like 2days now when i poop theres blood on the toilet paper but none in the stool or in my poop should i freak?lol or is it something minor???/seriously its freaking me out could it be just a small cutt if it is do i just let it heal up or do i go to a Docter???

It found last month while I was on Synth. I switched to the Armour 31/2 weeks ago and It made me hyper? Feels awful, I want to switch back toi the synth. ....? Do you think it influenced the Nodule? Thanks.

Had comp. thyroidectomy 2/9, began Synthroid right after. Body does not tolerate Synth. SEVERE muscle pain & weakness, nausea, diahrrea,headache, terrible GI upsets, no appetite, body either feels very cold or constantly sweating, no enegery left to even crawl out of bed. Have seen 4 local Endo's and all say problems not the result of Synth. They all began within 1 week of begining Synth. (started at 100 mcgs. Usual TSH around 12-30) Dr.'s want to raise dose to 125mcgs.

Hi i m male 29.weight 95 kg.my question is regarding my blood sugar.5 days ago randomly after heavy dinner i checked my bs and home gluco meter said 225 after almost 2 hours.then i checked half hour later and it was 182 after 3 and half hours it was 103.225 was high so in morning i went to lab with gluco meter and they picked blood from vein and tested on gluco meter ist it was 103 and in lab 87.lab technician told me that go home eat drink tea with sugar and come back after two hours.

So I checked my blood sugar and it was 79, I had just had a fruit smoothie. The medical assistant at work told me it was low, and then another told me it was slightly low. My question is does anyone know what it should be? I go to the Dr tomorrow so I will ask him, but I'm just curious.

Anything with carbs is going to spike your blood sugar. If your trying to stabilize blood sugar, I would recommend eating lots of protein and vegetables. As for carbs, choose the healthy carbs or brown rice and more slow digesting carbs. That way your blood sugar won't rise as high or fast. I'm type 1 diabetic and pregnant, so u have been testing blood sugar like crazy for a good amount of my life.

Is 130 high for blood sugar?

Has anyone else had extreme blood sugar drops? Mine gets to where i lose vision and cant walk or almost hurl everywhere:'( i already struggle with hyperglacimia would pregnancy make it worse??

For the past week or so there has been a couple of times where I feel very weak and my hands start to shake. I know it means my blood sugar is low so I will try to hurry up and eat something. Its sometimes when I first wake up and there are times when its in the middle to late at night. I'm 36 weeks and 4 days. Hypoglycemia/ low blood sugar would be considered blood sugar levels less than about 70. Your result of 103 is normal, not hypoglycemia. It is likely that your symptoms may be from other causes. Sometimes headaches can be a sign of not drinking enough - so a glass of water and a few minutes to relax / be quiet - may help a lot. Hope this helps.
