treated with doxycycline by end of june for 1 wk. started on avelox end of july for 1 wk. then given levaquin for a wk. by last wk doc said she didn't think was infection cause levaquin shoudl have killed anything, even though I was still having gobs of green phlegm coming down the back of my throat and out of my lungs. she sent me to the asthma and allergy clinic where i was tested for 27 diff allergies all negative for.
I have had asthma for a every long time and my throat is swollen so it is even harder for me the breathe in this weather which temperature is up to 90 degrees F. It feels like i have something stuck in my throat and no way to get it unstuck. I also have a very difficult time swallowing, and every time i drink any type of drink my throat seem to get dry and it is very annoying. If there is any fast cure please post a to this.

Went to see a couple of doctors and they think it is sinus infection - so went on two anti-biotic treatments (Augmentin 10 days - which did not work, then Avelox 14 days). Just finished the Avelox course, but still having some post nasal drip and sore throat. But generally feeling better. Question: How would you assess the risk of this encounter for STD's and HIV in particular? Does female ejaculate fluid contain the HIV virus? What about other STD's?

I have had walking pneumonia for 3 weeks. I took two Z packs and I'm 5 days into my Doxycycline and I still feel bad. I have no energy and my throat still hurts. I can't take Avelox or anything in that family because I am allergic to them. How long does it normally take to start feeling better on Doxy? Maybe I just haven't been taking it long enough? When do you think I'll start to feel normal again?
I have had a round of Avelox a few weeks ago and recently Omnicef 600mg/day for 10 days and still have discharge. Question,
wouldn't these antibiotics be affective against NGU, Chlamydia or Gonnorrhea? Thanks for the help.
After trying Doxy, Azithromycin, and Flagyl, the only antibiotic that finally worked was Avelox. The question now is what I should treat my partner with. I know from my experience that my NGU was passed sexually, and she needs to get treated before we can have sex again. The problem, is that she said she is allergic to Avelox. Another problem, is that since it is NGU, we cannot test to confirm if the bacteria is cured, and she is also asymptomatic.
I have tendonitis as a result of taking Avelox. Is this a condition that can be treated like other tendonitis and what is the prognisis?
Avelox... I went yesterday and saw a lung specialist, he calmed me down and told me that i only have a little pneumonia in my lower left side it's nothing to be worried about. It's the bronchitis that's causing a lot of pain in my chest and back that I did not have prior to the antibiotics.
I recently developed an upper respitory infection and bronchitis and one of the medications was AVELOX. Within 3 days the severe pain in my shoulders was GONE. How is this possible? Was it a viral infection causing my pains and if so could it be a form of Lyme Disease?

I feel completely miserable and I cannot figure out why I am so sick again so soon. Is this common after a bout with pneumonia?
May 17th developed swollen lymph glands in neck and sore throat. Sore throat got progressively worse over the next 3 days. No fever, no headaches.
4. May 18th noticed a white spot on back-center of roof of mouth. White spot turned to a red spot the next day. Red spot continues to expand on roof of mouth. Currently the size of a dime.
5. May 21st took an HIV-1 DNA PCR. Result was negative.

The pain was in the upper part of my rib cage left side only and back into my back under my left shoulder. The pain is not too bad but is constant. The pills help a bit my throat is not longer burning and the stomach is not as bad as it was.

About a week ago I was having cold-like symptoms. You know, the onset headache and scratchy throat. After getting the beginning symptoms I ran out to the drugstore and bought ZiCam. Took it for about a day and a half and it really did nothing because by Friday afternoon I had a tremendous ear ache in right ear.
