anyone else have side effects AFTER STOPPING augmentin after the full 10 day dose? I have been off for two days and have awful sweating and hot flashes. I am male, and in relatively good shape. bp has been in the 140/70 range for three days. odd stuff. Ive usually had plain ole amoxicillin, but this stuff takes the cake.
On Monday I went doctor since I had some fever and sore throat, he said it was tonsillitis and prescribed me Augmentin 500g (amoxicillin/clavulanate potassium) and paracetamol. Okay now I don't have fever anymore and I don't feel the pain, it's getting better so I've stoped with paracetamol. But since yesterday I've started to have diarrhea. It's painless, I just notice some sounds in my stomach and a sudden need to go wc.
just a quick question if anybody can answer it for me dose a dose increase in fluoxetine (prozac) cause any side effects? I'm going from 20mg per day to 40mg tonight due to the fact i'm feeling the 20mg isn't working as good as it has done for me.
Now 2 days in I have diarrhea. Should I discontinue the augmentin? If not, what is the best way to treatthe diarrhea?

A few weeks ago I found a hard mass/lump in my lower back on the left side and a smaller lump on the right side. It has been causing pain relating to lower back pain (stiffness, pain "slouching", pain straightening my back). This lump seems to feel approx. 1 - 1.5 inches on the left and a .5 inch on the right.
On a side note, the past few weeks (starting a 2 weeks before noticing this back lump) I have had a sore area in my throat (not a sore throat!
So today my Celexa dose was upped from half a pill to 1 whole pill and the side effects are coming back like when I first started... Sweaty, can't sleep, headache, stiff neck, clenching teeth... Etc. I don't know what to do. I tried taking stuff for it, including an Oxy but still no change. What can I take to make these side effects not so bad? I don't see the dr till Thursday, so I can't ask her... If anyone has any suggestions?
The diarrhea could be a side effect/adverse effect of the Augmentin. If it was present prior to use of that medicine, you could have had a gastroenteritis going on and that could explain why you still have an axillary lymph node enlargement. Have you recently had a diet change (added something that you never had previously). Have you increased dairy in your diet? Increased amount of fried foods?
Has anyone had any side effects from Clomid? I took it June 30-July 4. For the past week, my breasts have been sore, I have night sweats from hot flashes (or almost more like cold chills), and I have been bloated and had diarrhea for over a week. At first, I thought I might have salmonella because of the abdominal pains, cramping and diarrhea. When I noticed the breat soreness, I realized it must be from the Clomid.
Yes, I had one day fever 100.5 and very sore throat and developed full blown cold but fever I suspect was symptom for inflammation coming on. Because following mild neck/back/ shoulder pains, I was attacked with unbelievable painful locked shoulder joint which I believe was delayed adverse reaction from Augmentin. Never will take it again although I had it before and didn't have problem then.
4 days on augmentin 825 for a chronic dental infection (now a bone infection), I started having major swelling in my hands. This is new, I've never had swelling like this. Yesterday my one hand looked freakishly red and swollen. It was so swollen, that when I straightened out my hand (which was difficult), everything turned white, inbetween the redness.
Anyway, I tried going off the augmentin (I'm taking it in conjunction with clindamycin), and today I feel much less swollen.
These type of side effects are often worse in the beginning but often improve over time. Make sure to inform your psychiatrist about this
and they can tell you how to proceed. Part of it may be the interactions
between the various medications. Are they in the process of transferring you from one medication to another? Lamictal requires a very slow titration rate but only a psychiatrist would understand the clinical specifics and
how they apply.
I was prescribed augmentin for a sinus infection and I had no side effects while taking it. I finished it 4 days ago. Starting yesterday afternoon I had clay colored stool. I thought it would pass, but it hasn't. I have very slight stomach cramps. Is this normal and my body is just recovering from the antibiotic or should I be concerned?
Also, the infection has been treated with numerous antibiotics (amoxicillin, flagyl, omnicef, augmentin, clindamycin), and all seem to help at first, but only clindamycin has lasting effects. Not even augmentin worked. Any idea on what kind of bacteria would respond to clindamycin but not augmentin?
t really have to be put to use in my body and get rid of an infection that is not really there, the side effects are worse and more prevalant, hence the joint/muscle pain and diarrhea?
2) Is it also possible that taking the antibiotic reduced the initial symptoms of HIV and that why I do not have a fever, or rash, or anything else, but the muscle aches/joints and diarrhea was just a few symptoms that still occured that the antibiotic was not able to reduce or stop?
However, I do know that I have had similar side effects from other drugs. He can look at the drug insert and see if this is one of the side effects. But even if it's not, it may be worth trying one of the other oral medications for diabetes. As always, have him talk to his doctor about this to rule out any other problems and to see waht else he may be able to try.
