It is highly likely that Augmentin in the dose and duration I just recommended would abort incubating gonorrhea -- which almost certainly you didn't catch anyway. You can safely take the drug then continue unprotected sex with your wife.

Your wife is pregnant, though, and I understand why you are worried. After you've been off the augmentin for 3 weeks, test for all STIs to be able to put this behind you.
The rate of hiv infection in the US is overall very low. It's up to you if you feel that testing again at 3 months is worthwhile or not. No reason to continue testing for 6 months though.

UTI, fatique and mouth sore since long by antibiotic it was not controlled. Did all test CBC, Urine culture, HIV 1&2, Hepatetis B and VDRL. All all clear. What will be the reason. I had a un protected sex three years back. At present all are clear, is there any chance of HIv in future.
I searched online for what this was and I found thrush, I found that some patients with hiv experience this. Scared I called my doctor, yet he told me that it is a side effect that is common with the high dose of augmentin I recieved. Immediate care says either strep or tonsillitis and gave me Augmentin. My common sense says one week is too early to be sick from HIV and that I probably got sick from the airplane. so I took my STD test but before I got the result I panicked thinking of gonorrhea or syphilis and took Augmentin for 3 days. Well your risk for HIV is there, can't really tell you how high, but worth testing for at 8 weeks and then follow up at 3 months.
Because I had been previously diagnosed (and treated with 1000mg Amoxicillin three times daily) with a sinus and left ear infection about a month earlier he suspected that I could possibly have some type of resistant sinusitus and prescribed Augmentin XR (1000 mg) 2 pills twice a day. I had oral sex again with the asymptomatic guy again on 4/11. I was informed by the guy who developed gonorrhea of all this today, 4/14, and have not had sex with him since before his symptoms began.
I was wondering if anyone else has taken Augmentin. I was prescribed it for a double ear infection. Originally I was given acetic acid drops but they aren't working.
I plan on calling my OB in the morning to double check. They are pregnancy category B. Although they are thought to be safe not many studies have been done on them. I'm nervous about everything. This is my first pregnancy and I am only 18.

I feel very stressful about HIV and my parents said I am received black magic from other and they took the religious scholars to take the magic out of my body. Now I'm taking Anti Acid drug but I feel very tired and difficult breathing and short breath with wheezing. My doctors suspected Heart Disease or respiratory problems; pneumonia. I'm not sure if I was clear. The intercourse was not oral but rather virginal in it's entirety. To be clear we had sex more than once but during the same the condom broke on 1 occasion. The unprotected sex was brief but the overall encounter was not (we spent several hours together). During the remaining period I wore a condom.
My main concern is, assuming I am infected with HSV2 by this individual, the increased risk I would have in contracting HIV.
Aside from that, is there a time when your body will stop producing detectable HIV antibodies? Are blood tests more reliable than the oral tests? Why does it seem like they are recommended more? Thanks again everyone.
5 I went to have a full STI and HIV test done, the results which are due in two days and I will also have another HIV test tomorrow (week 5.5).
I am so worried that i have gotten HIV. I literally think about it all the time and sweat and panic when I do. Is it possible that I contracted it? Also, will this HIV test be anywhere near conclusive? Are these symptoms from HIV?

m wondering if maybe I should try it again in conjunction with the Augmentin, since it may now have a better chance of working since the 2 teeth were pulled and the bone cleaned out.
My oral surgeon would like to try me on clindamycin again, but my infectious disease doctor says the Augmentin should be fighting all of the bacteria. But it doesn't feel like it is at all, the infection has been getting worse for the past 3 or 4 days.

was aware I had the seizure problem and prescribed cipro, which I had to call and tell them to send me something different. The one at the pharmacy now is Augmentin. Just need a neurologist`s expert opinion as to whether or not it is alright to take Augmentin with my myoclonic seizure condition. Do not want to start up any seizures. 9 June 2008: no improvement, went to ENT who thought it were my tonsils.

I got my CBC results back and i am very concerned.
6 weeks ago a had a what was described by doctors as a low risk hiv exposure. I have been tested every week and I'm getting -ve results. I was also tested positive for CMV IGG and HSV 1 IGG. I have been getting some joint and bone pain with some pain in the groin nodes but that all disappeared after a week. I had a random CBC and the results are confusing. Please Help. I also want to add that I took the blood test while on Augmentin 1,000.
Augmentin will affect your pill. The other one I do not know about. It probably takes a couple of days for the antiboitics to get out of your system. You might wanna use a second form of protection just in case.
Two days later I was treated for a sinus infection and was prescribed 875mg augmentin 2x day for 7 days. Exactly 5 days after the exposure I noted some mild burning and pain at the tip of my penis. I have a history of prostatitis and I believe that's what this was (perineum pain, mild tip of penis pain). No pain on urination and no discharge. The symptoms resolved after about 10 days.
