Arthrotec works well but is useless as most nsaids are during a R.A flare. If you are only having mild RA pain and just need something to keep it under control I highly reccomend trying Arthrotec. I am not a physician so of course speak to your RA Dr before using arthrotec dont want any issues with contradicting other meds you may be taking. Of course only you know what your pain level is and on major flare days only strong narcotics will help sometimes.
From what it sounds like is maybe Fibromyalgia. Did you only get tested for RA? I've been tested for Lupus, RA, Lymes disease, B12 def. (which was low), Ect... If you have been tested for everything else, I would assume Fibro. Can you ask your Dr. for a referral to a specialist?
Hi... I was diagnosed with ostearthritis & fibromyalgia a few years ago...and have been taking mobic since then, which has worked. About a month ago, the mobic didn't seem to be working as well.. my hands were hurting a lot at work... so I went back to my dr & he changed my medicine to relafen for the osteoarthritis & lyrica for the fibromyalgia. Although the lyrica seems to work, I'm not liking the side effects, puffy hands & feet & eye twitching...

Thanks for writing in. The common risk factors for non union of humerus fracture are open fracture, highly comminuted fracture pattern, significant displacement of the fracture fragments, smoking, diabetes, NSAID’s, infection and hypothyroidism.
In your case, smoking could have aided in non union of the fracture, but there is a need to rule out other causes as well.
I cannot sleep longer than for 2 hours. I was given Tramadol and Arthrotec for the pain. I now take Arthrotec and paracetamol after suffering a vomiting fit. My question, already posted in part, is: is there any downside to steroidal injections which I am told may be up to 4 times a year. I have stopped, cold turkey, taking dilaudid which I have been on for over 4 years. (Resection in 2006 and ACD&F's (2) in 2008 (C5,6 and C6,7), Problem is, not ony am I concerned about the down side (everyone talks about rebound effect from Cortisone) but I am ideating about ending it all, I am so tired of being in pain.
i am on very high doses of morphine, oramorph, tramadol, dihydrocodeine, baclofen, arthrotec & some paracetamol for a bad back. I also have osteoporosis & take calcium tablets for this too. This has gone on for 5 years since i fell off the back of my old works truck. Oh & 2 lots of pills for high blood pressure.
DOGS CANNOT TAKE DECONGESTANTS!!!! They cannot metabolize them. If your dogs ears are that bad they are in need of antibiotic and antifungals. You can ask your vet to prescribe an antibiotic like cephalexin and an antifungal like fluconazole both which can be called into a walmart in your area and they are on the $4 generic list so it keeps cost down. As for itching they can have antihistamines WITHOUT DECONGESTANTS in them.
As far as I'm aware, benadry is safe for quite a long time in dogs. The general doggy dosage is 1 mg/ per pound, so that's what your vet has prescribed - most people tend to go too low on the dosage. Using it for only the summer months should be no problem at all. I had a dog who needed it a good 8 months or more of every year and it never caused any trouble. Hope it works well for your Bostie!
Are there painkillers for dogs that are safe? Tramadol caused my 11 year old chow chow Emily to have seizures after two days 4 pills and the Rimadyl side effects I just read here are equally as bad. Both were give to her by her vet of six years. If anyone has any ideas please contact me at ***@****. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your concern and advice. I moved to a new city where I don't know anyone except for my sister who is over an hour's drive away (but thank God for her, still). I am unable to find a doctor who is accepting new patients, so I would have no choice but to go to the ER - and wait forever.
s previous medical records that I like to have titers ran first, before I vaccinate my dogs for other diseases. He told me that I was wise and explained to me that, because of the research and his own personal testing on this, he has started to recommend to patients to check their pet's titer first to make sure that they don't need an unnecessary vaccination. I can only tell you that every time I've done this, my pet's titers were always within normal range.
I have been feeling pretty rotton for a few months. Really draged out, sleeping a lot some nights, even into the afternoon, but not sleeping other night. I've had a lot of sinus pressure and a cough off and on. Sometimes a get that weird feeling just before you get a colf or flu, not really an ache in the body, but almost like your skin is sensitive and... oh i dont know how to explain that feeling. I guess it is achy and jumpy.
Someone asked for suggestions on what to feed itchy dogs/dogs with allergies, though I couldn't find the original question. Anyways, I had suggested grain-free dog foods with limited ingredients, (as most allergic reactions come from food). I just came across another one, by **** Van Patten, "Natural Balance" "Limited Ingredients Diets" which is grain-free and (comes in a purple bag, Sweet Potato & Venison formula).
