antihistamine

Avatar n tn i have on my right shin what looks like a red rash under the skin that has been there for 6 months or so . cause for concern?
Avatar m tn erythromycin about 3 to 4 weeks later for pimples on scalp about 4 to 5 days after the stopping the erythromycin due to bad stomach upset (going to toilet 5 to 6 times a day) my wrists went very red and sore (worse on right hand) dominant hand and also my hands constant flushing/hot/sore (could not even but hands in jean pockets so sore) Was given antihistamine shot and 3 days’ worth prednisone tablets in ER which seemed to calm skin within a few hours but once they wore off it came back.
Avatar n tn In addition to this, my back now has red spots on it and it itches viciously at times. I am curious about all of these problems and the possible solutions.
Avatar n tn Then 2 days ago she seems to have the blotchy red rash on her feet. I have taken her to the doctor and they said it is not hand foot and mouth. They think it's eczema. However, the entire family seems to have this sore hand symptom with some bumps but not the redness or blotchy areas.
Avatar n tn ve had something similar in the past. Just red blotches appearing on skin and when I scratch it too much, it spreads and turns into a large welt. I don't really know how to describe it. Do you guys know what to do about this or what it is? Will taking antihistamine help? We have a lot of those since our family is prone to allergies...
Avatar f tn Anti-itch drugs, often antihistamine, may reduce the itch during a flare up of eczema, and the reduced scratching in turn reduces damage and irritation to the skin. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone or desonide), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide). Let us know if you need any further information.
Avatar f tn I have this red rough and itchy patches on my face on and off. It will get better and seem to go away only to come back. I have tried to see if I was allergic to something but I cant figure it out. It itches and burns and nothing I put on it helps. The doc put me on antibiotics for 10 days and it helped alittle but came back. My skin will flake after it starts to get better and then it will start all over. I thought maybe rosacea but I am not sure.
Avatar n tn Just noticed that my husbands armpits are very red and the skin is peeling, kinda like a sunburn, it causes him no pain and no itching and I was just wondering if anyone knows what this could be. Thanks.
Avatar n tn You may live in a cold climate and it may cause your skin to have red eots about a millimeter wide and about a centemeter apart.this is caused by being in the cold for too long.try to stay warm and stay.inside with the heater on.Or you may try reducing your medication or any skin care products your taking.if this does not work try consulting your doctor or someone who has medical knowledge.Stay warm...stay healthy.
Avatar f tn Hi, It may be possible that you were exposed to the poisonous sap of some plants such as poison ivy, oak or sumac. The usual symptom of poisoning is a severe itching of the skin. Later, a red inflammation and a blistering of the skin occurs. In severe cases, oozing sores develop. The rash spreads by the poisonous sap or urushiol, not as the result of contamination from sores.
Avatar n tn They come and go in redness, but have lingered for over a month now. When the redness goes, my skin becomes dry and peels off. There is no discharge and I have yet to find any pictures or publications that look simlar to or describe what I have.
Avatar n tn I have had eczema and dry skin since I was a child and it has been largely controlled. I don't know what my current situation is but my face has been getting more red. The redness also seems to stand, at times, in stark contrast to patchy, blanched areas of white around my eyes. The skin is smooth to the touch and not bumpy, just red with white patches. It's really annoying and causes me to be extremely self-conscious. Any idea?
Avatar n tn Dove beauty bars for sensitive skin are widely recommended by dermatologists. And are you on antihistamines? That may help as well.
Avatar n tn I came out in some large red spots on the side on side of my face a week ago. The doctor gave me some hydrocortrosone cream but did not say what the rash was. It is now spreading to my neck & chin. It is very itchy & sore. Any ideas what it could be?
Avatar n tn it started yesterday and my left upper eye lid was swollen aswell. today the skin around both eyes is red, dry and burns when \i put moisturizer on it. i thought it might be eczema cuz of the cold but why would it start only now?

Avatar n tn About a month ago I suddenly noticed these little patches developing around my stomach. They were pretty pale at the time and didn't think to much of it because I was spending a lot of time in the sun. In the last month the patches have become pink and have spread to my chest and my upper thighs. When I'm sweating or really hot they really flare up and are very red and noticeable. They aren't itchy and are very small.
Avatar n tn You could take some oral antihistamine or antiallergic medications like loratadine or cetrizine and see if it helps with your symptoms. Apply calamine lotion at the site of the lesions to help soothe the itching. Have you had allergic reactions in the past? Are you allergic to any specific substances?
Avatar n tn I have the red bumps that appeared a few days ago and have been spreading ever since. I had just switched detergents and got a new kitten so I'm wondering if one of those two things or something more serious. Thanks in advance. btw, its not acne.

Avatar n tn Last 3 or 4 years I have occassionally got these round, red, circles of dry skin. about 4 or 5 times. They are a little raised, and the outer circle is red. They do dissappear after a few days of putting moisturizer on them. Have always been on either my shin, or calf area. Currently have on on top of back leg, below buttock. Could this be a fungus, or just dry skin?
Avatar f tn I just went to the Dr today cuz I had the same problem..the Dr said it was just an allergy rash and to take benadryl and use a over the counter antihistamine?? it's kinda helping but I'd ask your Dr just in case it's something else??
Avatar m tn You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can give some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used, whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid which are available under prescription. Eczema can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. Use good quality moisturizers to prevent moisture loss from the skin.
