Antibiotics and tanning

Common Questions and Answers about Antibiotics and tanning

antibiotics

I've had pimples on my back since I was 10 years old, (It's somewhat of a curse.) and I have medication for my face that I try to use on it but I can never reach it all, and it's to expensive to put it on the whole surface of my back. So anyway, My dad who's a Big "beach guy" says to "get some sun" and that will clear it up. Is this true? Does tanning, or exposure to the sun help to clear away pimples? If so, would tanning salons work? Thank you.
First I used the 5% but this didn't have much of an effect so I (not a smart move I know) started using 10% BP on my cheeks. This did work for the acne but my dark tan (which I naturally have) faded. I became very white on my cheeks so I stopped using BP after a month or so. First I thought it was just because all the darker skin cells came off but after a month my cheeks are still very white.
It's possible to get an allergic reaction to suntanning, and also you could have a problem from tanning if you are on certain antibiotics. I hate to second the notion that you have already rejected, but it's kind of crazy to tan. Based on how my mother-in-law's arms looked, tanning a lot early in life gives you cooked-turkey looking skin later in life, and at 19 you look beautiful enough without the help of tanning.
My son tans really well...he is four...i rarley have to put sunscreen on him...he's been swimming all summer... and his skin has been fine..recently he was on antibiotics ...and recently started having blotchy white spots on his chest and back...could it be peeling without looking like peeling? what causes the white blotchy spots? Does it have something to do with being on antibiotics? will is go away? should i take him to the doctor?
I have tanned in bedsat a salon and never broke out i just baught my own bed not new but iv cleaned it with alchol and im breaking out on my back and top off stomac area with red bumps that almost look a little maybe blistery but not and oh they itch bad.
It's been treated repeatedly by different doctors, depending on where I'm living (originally from Southern California, but had to commute to the Caribbeans over the past 2 years). The treatments usually included an antibiotic eyedrop and a topical steroid. I have developed a left nasal-sided pterygium (is that correct?) from constantly rubbing it, according to an optometrist visit back in December.
I went tanning in a tanning bed for the first time a few days ago and got burned real bad on my stomach, upper thighs and chest/breats. My first thought was okay, no big deal, it will go away. but yesterday i went into our hot tub (BIG mistake) and my skin felt like it was on fire. When i woke up this morning, the underside of my breasts were bright red/purple. This is an area thaht never sees the sun so it got burned REALLY bad.
Last year while tanning, I began to get these rash like tiny red bumps between my breast. They are almost like blisters. when my bra rubbed against them it turned into this scabby like area. This year they are starting off a lot worse and even on the upper part of my stomach. It itches a little but mostly not pleasing to the eye. They also burn a little. What do I do to get rid of this??? Its not an allergic reaction to lotion or cleaners.. I have eliminated those things already..
Ok. This is the deal. I have a tanning bed, and have had it for quite some time. I am fair complected, and use it so that I do not burn when I go out into the sun, this way I can work my way up slowly: 5 minutes, 6 minutes, etc. I have never had any problems. This year, I have a TERRIBLE rash on certain parts of my body: arms, back of my knees, neck and chest. It is driving me nuts! It itches pretty bad, and you can actually see the little bumps.
what can cause these red bumps that itch after hours after tanning?
the last two time's i went to the tanning bed like 2-3 hours afterwards i get these little red bumps, they itch a little bit but they kind of hurt too. I've been reading alot of other discussion boards that alot of people get them after going to a taning bed. The only place I get them in between by boobs and under my boobs. everywhere else is tanning just fine with out a problem. I was curious if anyone is still having these problem's and have your found any way to make it better?
Ive recently started visiting tanning studios. I make sure I dont overgo as its not the healthiest. Once a week is enough, I think. I only go in for max 5-6 minutes. Ive recently went in about 3 days ago and used a tanning lotion for a faster darker skin achievement. I used it once before and was pretty satisfied. But this time I noticed I got red spots/pimples right after the sesion. Could be an allergy that only appeared now?
Hi, Although I'm new to Lyme and am going to start antibiotics soon, I fear having a problem, like you do, of not tolerating the antibiotics because I don't tolerate most drugs and supplements now. Allergies often start immediately, but actually, you can develop an allergy suddenly anytime to something you previously tolerated just fine. How are you detoxing?
a bit of irish always had lightly oily skin skin is natural light tan in winter and while I never get really pale I never look like I have indian or any darker skin color in the winter somewhat healthy considering the some minor abuse "cigarettes and such" took acutane at 20 for 3 months for acne on back, never had it on face bad, and it totally cleared me up.
Since then I have had 1-2 bms daily of heavy, soft, tan-colored stools w/ a visible white mucus/fat that is mingled into the stool and small white/yellow bits that float; at times when I flush the stools completely breaks apart.
When the rash started I had just started working out at a local gym but not showering there.
What Tan didn’t realize is that her experience about 18 months ago was perhaps only the strangest manifestation of what has since been diagnosed as late-stage Lyme disease—an illness she believes she had contracted two years earlier but that continued to cause neurological damage, thanks to several misdiagnoses by doctors unfamiliar with or even hostile to the possibility.
I was wondering if this is due to the indoor tanning because I have experienced this once before while indoor tanning, but not to this extent. I was also just on an antibiotic not too long ago and I did go tanning while on it. I am also on birth control so I have a feeling that is what caused these bumps to appear. Any suggestions?
Overall it’s not helpful to treat someone without a disease.” Stricker recently changed Tan’s antibiotic medication to Flagyl (metronidazole) from doxycycline. He says recovery is usually progressive: “Usually when they feel better, they stay better, though there’s possibility of relapse. Sometimes it requires months of treatment for a complete cure,” he says. “Sometimes it requires years.
After 8 months of severe diarrhea, colonoscopy and labs I was told I had C-Diff, probably from the different antibiotics I was given when I had Pneumonia. I was given Flagyl and as long as I continued to take it I'd be ok. But it would always return, off and on for almost 4 years, usually within days of completing my prescription. I finished my last course of Flagyl about 4 months ago and so far so good! But now, about a month ago, something new started!
acnes develops in 50% of individuals following treatment with both topical and oral antibiotics .Tan, Goh, Yeo, and Tan (2001) found that the rate of P. acnes resistance corresponds to the length of treatment. P. acnes resistance to erythromycin is the most common followed by tetracycline, doxycycline, and minocycline.
Avoid direct exposure to UV light; sun, tanning beds and lamps. Less commonly, oral antibiotics (and some birth control pills prescribed for acne) cause hyperpigmentation of the skin if over-exposed to UV light. Eloise.
or hurt but i have never got them before and iam worried will it just go away ?
stay away from the tanning solons the tanning beds will dry your skin out and you will age long before your tme.also can irritate the skin and causing you to break out.vitamin e works well on those kind of skin blemishes.
Some of us are more sensitive to UV rays than others, I cannot use tanning beds at all and have spray tans instead. Hydrocortizone is usually effective at clearing allergic rashes and what you have may be more like sunburn. Use a bland cleanser such as Eucerin, La Roche-Posay or Lutsine until your skin is no longer fragilised. Clinique make a Redness Relief Cleanser and an urgent relief cream for when your skin has reacted badly to products or procedures such as waxing.
I naturally tan, my body at least. I get a golden tan and my body does not burn easily. However, my face does burn. I have some acne, not bad, just little red dots on my forehead. I am wondering if that could be the cause of my face getting red instead of tanning like the rest of my body? and is it possible that as i get older (am currently 18) my face will begin to tan like the rest of my body?
