After a sleepless night, the nurse told me (by phone) that this was Atrial Tachycardia, that the slow pulse was not a total indication of what was going on with my heart.and to increase my dose of beta blocker from 12 to 25 mg. Why is my systolic blood pressure still high when I am taking Altace. My diastolic blood pressure is normal when I take Altace. Why the difference. Could I have angina since I have had pain in my chest around the heart area and in the middle of the chest. Also, could I have arterialschlorsis from the high systolic blood pressure?

I'm sorry, I missed the Hashi's dx - my mistake. I don't see anything that indicates you had a thyroid ultra sound? Please don't tell me I missed that too, in spite of going back and reading again...........LOL
It's possible that you have nodules that are leaking hormone independently of the thyroid gland itself. This can swing you from hypo to hyper very quickly.
Thank you so much for the encouragement. I too have problems with just about every medication out there and am really hoping Cardizem will not cause any problems. I got a little worried when my cardio dr. told me he was running out of medications to put me on. This is the second day on the med and only last night I had a headache, but it could have been because I was tired.
t doing well and you raised them on your own to see if it would help which is never a good idea? What is the dose that you are taking? What dose did you take today? I could give you some more information then. But more importantly if you are starting to feel sick then you might have taken above what is the reccomended maximum dosage and clearly you are encountering some side effects.
Never had a heart attack. The Cardio put me on Metoprolol ( 50mg); Altace 2.5 mg and baby aspirin in addition to Lipitor 20mg. Sep. 2009 he took me off the Metoprolol and increased the Altace to 10 mg.
My Blood potassium level at the time was perfectly normal at 3.6; after the spike in the ace-inhibitor my potassium level has risen in two months to 5.6, which I believe is an unsafe level. My family doctor has now asked me to go back to the 2.5 mg dosage and get re-tested after two weeks.

I take Toprol XL 200 mgs. and Altace 20mgs. and have for many years however recently I have experienced an increase in blood pressure. I have lost some weight and continue to diet as well as exercise. My doctor has tried two calcium channel blockers with the results that I become very ill and unable to continue these medications. My cardiologist has me taking 75 mg, of Lopressor, 360 mg, of verapamil, .4 mg nitroglycerin patch. And now he wants to add 10 mg of Ramapril ( Altace ) a day, my recent cardiosrams have have shown sinus bradycardia. That's before starting the Ramapril , I'm just very leary about starting the Ramapril in first of all the highest dose there is, and second of all it could further lower my heart rate and send my heart in to an AV Block that could lead to many things not good !
If you have a 20 mGy exposure, then that is the maximum dose any tissue in the path of the radiation can recieve. In reality that is the dose exposed to at the skin on the beam side, and the dose decreases with tissue depth as some of the radiation is absorbed at each level as it penetrates tissue and is therefore gone and cannot expose the deeper tissues.

however, there is a new lower maximum recently released that states 2,600 mg per day is the maximum. The maximum single dose of tylenol that can be taken safely is 1,000 mg.
The oxycodone-acetaminophen that you are taking contains in each pill 5 mg of oxycodone and 325 mg of acetaminophen (aka tylenol). Make sure that you tally up the acetaminophen in each pill you take over the day and make sure that you don't exceed 1,000 mg in a single dose and 2,600 mg per day.
