Avatar f tn IS IT OK to take hypertension medication (such as IC Cartia 360 mg, Atenonlol 12.5 mg and Altace 10 mg.) 5 hours before having an Endoscopy? Would the pressure go to low with the anesthesia or go to high without the hypertension medications?
Avatar f tn s stomach in time for an endoscopy if they drank a glass of water two hours before an endoscopy - say for example to take their hypertension medications and other meds? In addition, when one is on an IV for some hours, does the water (or fluid) from the IV enter the stomach, causing the stomach not to be empty if one needs to consider getting an endoscopy?
Avatar f tn I take Toprol XL 200 mgs. and Altace 20mgs. and have for many years however recently I have experienced an increase in blood pressure. Any suggestions?
Avatar m tn It has been working for me without questions. I am on Cholesterol meds and hypertension meds(Metoprolol, Altace and Norvasc) which I have been taking for the last two years. Recently I used some viagra two hours before an encounter with my date. I started drinking after the taking the Viagra. The viagra did not work....I took another one and waited awhile and it still didn't work...I took one more and waited a while with no results....
Avatar f tn Why is my systolic blood pressure still high when I am taking Altace. My diastolic blood pressure is normal when I take Altace. Why the difference. Could I have angina since I have had pain in my chest around the heart area and in the middle of the chest. Also, could I have arterialschlorsis from the high systolic blood pressure? This discussion is related to high systolic normal diastolic blood pressure?.
Avatar m tn What are all the types of treatment are available for coronary artery spasms? I am very young, 22 years old, and was diagnosed very recently.. they at first thought I had anxiety... It ***** because I was very athletic and stupidly abused stimulants some years ago... but I am still very much health oriented and I'm concerned that my condition will prevent me from exercise.
Avatar m tn Never had a heart attack. The Cardio put me on Metoprolol ( 50mg); Altace 2.5 mg and baby aspirin in addition to Lipitor 20mg. Sep. 2009 he took me off the Metoprolol and increased the Altace to 10 mg. My Blood potassium level at the time was perfectly normal at 3.6; after the spike in the ace-inhibitor my potassium level has risen in two months to 5.6, which I believe is an unsafe level. My family doctor has now asked me to go back to the 2.5 mg dosage and get re-tested after two weeks.
Avatar n tn For how long you should wait after taking tylenol for 15 days before starting to take it again
Avatar f tn Have you checked in with your eye MD?
Avatar n tn Hi. I'm getting very frustrated and don't know where to turn. Last night I awoke again with horrid spasms. Started in the back, down the shoulders and then landed in the chest. Stabbing pain in throat. I'm sure I have either coronary spasms, or small vessel disease and no dr will believe me because I had a clean cath April 09. I know that when I was on betas blockers the spasms were non stop. All the cardios said that beta blockers can't cause spasms.
15695260 tn?1549593113 ACE inhibitors showed a somewhat slower decline in memory and other mental skills than patients not on the drugs for some patients. Common medications in this class of drugs are commonly used medications such as captopril (Capoten), fosinopril (Monopril), lisinopril (Prinivil or Zestril), perindopril (Aceon), ramipril (Altace) and trandolapril (Mavik).
Avatar f tn ve been bed ridden from a car accident for the last 20 yrs. After a recent endoscopy procedure I started getting horrible pounding tachycardia that day. I:m already in a weakened state from being inactive and bedridden. Right after the procedure a week ago...I started getting constant tachycardia almost 24hrs a day. It gets worse when i eat. They hospitalized me for 1 day...did an ECHO....it was normal. My HR is still up most of the time even when just laying in the bed.
Avatar n tn ve been on this medication dosage for about a month now. I startedout on the2.5mg about in may. Just wondering if with the increase that im feeling this way and with the twiching now is normal with taking thos drug.
Avatar m tn I had an ablation for afib 9 days ago. After a week of relative quiet, I start to have bouts where I could feel my heart pumping but with a pulse rate of 48-52 bpm. No other major symtoms. After a sleepless night, the nurse told me (by phone) that this was Atrial Tachycardia, that the slow pulse was not a total indication of what was going on with my heart.and to increase my dose of beta blocker from 12 to 25 mg. This made me extremely lightheaded so I went back to my prior dose.
Avatar f tn I have started taking Norvasc for Hypertension and am having side effects such as nausea, headache, and it seems to be causing some eye pain and pressure. My concern is that I had retinal detachment surgery in March of 2008 and have not had any pain until I started taking Norvasc 5mg. daily. Is this a side effect that is normal and will it subside or is it a reason to discontinue this drug?
Avatar n tn My 79 year old mother, who lives in another state, is on medication for hypertension. She takes Carvedilol, Diovan, Dilitiazem, and Clonidine. Her doctor even talked about putting her on a fifth medicine. I'm not a doctor, but it doesn't make sense to me for anyone to have that many different prescriptions for one problem.
Avatar m tn Currently I am on multiple of 3 BP pills for 6 or more depending on how high my BP goes, and 2 of 1 relaxent pill. Is there any value in getting acunpuncture to lower my BP. I'm only having a problem with the stystolic number mainly ranging between 150 and 220. If yes, is there a good site to go for a qualified acupuncturist for hypertention in the Detroit area? Also, I've had all the tests listed on webmd and more for hypertension, nothing was found wrong over the last 15 years.
Avatar n tn I also have what appears to be refractory hypertension. One year ago, when hypertension was dx, an echocardiogram indicated only mild regurgitation of the mitral, aortic, and tricuspid valves. My physician, at this time (EP for pacemaker), said this would go away once BP was controlled. Over a year later, despite seeing a hypertension specialist and trying many different drug regimines, BP still remains high.
Avatar m tn Had multiple stents (4) placed four (4) years ago, two in LAD with no side effects and good nuclear and stress test results over this period. Am currently taking Plavix/Aspirin/Coreg/Altace. Need arthroscopic repair on knee but concerned over cessating of Plavix. One cardiologist recommended ending Plavix entirely, second (same practice) would rather wait for a large study about to be completed. Suggestions?
Avatar n tn I take Lipitor, Nexium, and Altace for high blood pressure, high cholesterol and heartburn. I had femoral artery blockages 13 years ago and was a smoker. Guys, I'm not making this up, somebody please advise if you ever heard of such a thing, this is very alarming. My penis has shrunk and appears to be continuing to do so. HELP!
Avatar m tn I certainly agree with is_,,, Trying to find the silver bullet, so to speak, has been a search since Heck was a pup, and Dante's Inferno has a place in hell for those who propose nostrums for profit reasons. I'd suggest you follow conventional medications, they have certainly extended my life beyond my expectations. Frankly, to disregard a doctor's prescription to follow an internet threat to me is reckless behavior. You have a serious disease and it is time to face it.
Avatar n tn ve got an explanation at hand for your symptoms (your HBP med), (b) your symptoms have only been present for two weeks and do not sound urgent, and (c) all your labs are normal. Did your neuro do a complete neurological exam and document the weakness in your legs? What did s/he find on the neuro exam? Your neuro is probably wanting to wait to see if your symptoms resolve on their own before sending you for an MRI.
