Why is my systolic blood pressure still high when I am taking Altace. My diastolic blood pressure is normal when I take Altace. Why the difference. Could I have angina since I have had pain in my chest around the heart area and in the middle of the chest. Also, could I have arterialschlorsis from the high systolic blood pressure? Common medications in this class of drugs are commonly used medications such as captopril (Capoten), fosinopril (Monopril), lisinopril (Prinivil or Zestril), perindopril (Aceon), ramipril (Altace) and trandolapril (Mavik). It should be noted that this research was not done as a clinical trial but rather an 'observational study' where older adults with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia were being studied. Never had a heart attack. The Cardio put me on Metoprolol ( 50mg); Altace 2.5 mg and baby aspirin in addition to Lipitor 20mg. Sep. 2009 he took me off the Metoprolol and increased the Altace to 10 mg. My Blood potassium level at the time was perfectly normal at 3.6; after the spike in the ace-inhibitor my potassium level has risen in two months to 5.6, which I believe is an unsafe level. My family doctor has now asked me to go back to the 2.5 mg dosage and get re-tested after two weeks.

I was on Altace and had problems. Then they put me on the Lopressor (metoprolol) along with the Altace. The altace lower my blood pressure too much, so I stick with the beta blocker and leave out the ace inhibitor. That works for me. But man oh man, I cannot run out of the beta blocker without servious side effects. Maybe in this case using both would help more.

ve been on this medication dosage for about a month now. I startedout on the2.5mg about in may. Just wondering if with the increase that im feeling this way and with the twiching now is normal with taking thos drug.

, and have had the side effects of weight gain, slow metabolism, high cholesterol, and insomnia, and would like to know if I could just increase the dosage of the ace inhibitor -altace that I am also taking for this? And then maybe slowyly getting off and away from the beta blocker completely!

I take Toprol XL 200 mgs. and Altace 20mgs. and have for many years however recently I have experienced an increase in blood pressure. I have lost some weight and continue to diet as well as exercise. My doctor has tried two calcium channel blockers with the results that I become very ill and unable to continue these medications. Any suggestions?

My EF was in the 30's, and was slowly advanced to 25 mg Coreg twice a day, and 10 mg of Altace. My EF increased, but like you I had extreme fatigue issues, and I had several fainting episodes at night because of low blood pressure. The Coreg was reduced to 6.25 X 2 and the Altace reduced to 5mg, and I'm getting along fine.

My cardiologist has me taking 75 mg, of Lopressor, 360 mg, of verapamil, .4 mg nitroglycerin patch. And now he wants to add 10 mg of Ramapril ( Altace ) a day, my recent cardiosrams have have shown sinus bradycardia. That's before starting the Ramapril , I'm just very leary about starting the Ramapril in first of all the highest dose there is, and second of all it could further lower my heart rate and send my heart in to an AV Block that could lead to many things not good !

Latley his depression has come back (not as bad as before). His MD has increase his dosage by 150 mg.(has not started yet, med is being filled) , can people build up talorance to this drug?

I heard the effectivesnees of accutane is increased with a twice daily dosage. True? I will be taking 40mg a day, once a day. Would it be better to take 20 mg twice a day? well a pulse of 48-50 does sound like bradycardia,but maybe it was just intermittent?i got my ablation a week ago and i am getting the odd thumping sensation ,i think palps are normal for a while after the procedure but not sure about the pulse rate.........

Hi there. For the past 10-12 years I've struggled with forms of anxiety. In turn this has created a big problem when it comes to getting/maintaining an erection during relationships. During my last relationship in 2014 i relied on Viagra and Cialis. This seemed to do the job. However i have recently just met someone and these tablets don't seem to be taking effect. started me on 40 mg. of Nexium once a day, we had to up the dosage to 40 Mg. twice a day to see results. I have been maintaining this dosage for 2 years, and in the last few months my discomfort has seriously increased. I feel as if I constantly carry around a 5 lb weight where my stomach used to be, and upon eating ANYTHING...even so little as a few bites of food the "heaviness" in my belly doubles. There is no burning or indegestion, just heaviness and misery.

I take it that even though the anesthesia will help to relax a patient during such a procedure, I wondered is it still okay for a patient to take their hypertension medication (such as IC Cartia 360 mg, Atenonlol 12.5 mg and Altace 10 mg.)? Would the pressure go to low with the anesthesia or go to high without the hypertension medications?

Hi: I used to be on flecinade for 3-4 years and it worked great - basically it was akin to nitro - when I went into Afib it would quickly help restore sinus rythm. I'm now on sotolol and altace (blood pressure) which seems to help keep my heart rate down but it feels like a war as my heart wants to race. I'm not sure of any side effects as I have several issues but it does work to keep my heart rate below 100's and most often in the 60's - 70's.
