Avatar n tn This was during allergy season in the spring and I was having sinus congestion and being treated for allergies so I found it unusual to get a cough like this( I have had that in the winter from time to time) My first doctor tried to treat me with several rounds of antibiotics which did not work. I ended up in the ER and was told that it seemd to be asthma. I was put on Advair. Within a day of starting treatment I felt cured and the coughing stopped.
Avatar f tn Morning Everyone, Lately, I become increasingly sick whenever I eat any dairy products. I have been on this new "Paleo Diet" which requires me to ONLY eat protein. Maybe this has something to do with it?
Avatar n tn Hi, ItchyM could be right about you being allergic to any of the products you are using. try stopping the products and also using products approved by your skin specialist or dermatologist. Have you started using any new products recently or changed any of the products you were using otherwise? How are you doing now? Is there any improvement in your symptoms? have you been to see an allergy specialist yet? Let us know if you have any doubts. Regards.
Avatar f tn Your doctor may suggest allergy testing to identify your allergy triggers. In some cases, starting allergy shots (immunotherapy) may help control future bouts of sinusitis. Sinusitis medications. Decongestants and medications that break down mucus secretions (mucolytics) can be helpful for sinus relief. If you experience symptoms of sinus infection for more than 10 to 14 days, your doctor may prescribe an antibiotic.
Avatar f tn I have NEVER had an issue with dairy products. However through my pregnancy I feel as though I'm almost developing a mild intolerance to it. It wasnt bad in the beginning, but now at 37 weeks any time I take in dairy it upsets my stomach. Kinda makes me afraid that my little one may also have an allergy to dairy then since I plan to breast feed. Any one else ever encounter this??
1900997 tn?1321659956 Hi, For some time (ever since I had my gallbladder removed in 2008, in fact), I have been having problems whenever I drink milk: a couple of hours later, I get ferocious stomach pain and flatulence that smells of milk, quite often also diarrhoea. So I switched to lactose-free milk, but this has not brought about any improvement whatsoever. Skimmed milk is just as bad as full fat, so it can't be the fat content either.
Avatar f tn I now have a patch of eczema under one eye. I tried special products, control creams, cortisone (in small amounts-I have to be careful since it is around my eye), vaseline...the list goes on. If anyone has any ideas, I'd welcome them!
490398 tn?1319940717 Once it is under control, think about getting allergy shots because they will greatly help your allergies (completely got rid of mine - including blood and skin tests went from +4 (cats) and +2 (dust mites) out of 5 to negative results. If your asthma is mainly allergy based, it would greatly help that as well.
Avatar f tn Or it could be contact dermatitis (skin allergy) caused by a product change. Changing hair products, soap and laundry detergent or perfume could all cause a skin allergy.
Avatar n tn -200 hours after I drink it. Well I did the allergy test and it had about 10 things I am allergic. Not dairy. One thing is geotrichum. I looked it up and it said it was found in dairy products ect... I am moderately allergic to it. Does this have anything to do with me feeling sick when I drink milk and sometimes when I eat cheese on stuff?
Avatar n tn I never did have a sinus infection though, just allergy to pollen, dust, perfumes, cleaning products, etc. Antihistamines would lessen the swelling and congestion but did not help my thinking at all. I have solved this problem for the past 15 years by following the blood-type diet Eat Right 4 Your Type. For the first three weeks I just eliminated the six foods said to be the worst for my type, and I knew I had a solution to my problem (my brain was working).

Avatar m tn I was officially diagnosed with the allergy to said nut after allergy testing when I was in my early teens. I subsequently had a few more allergic reactions throughout the next 20+ years, all similar, some also with breathing difficulties, always only with ingestion of coconut or with it touching my tongue/mouth/face. I am not allergic to any other nuts or seeds.
Avatar n tn It is more likely that you are allergic to something your clients are putting on their hair or, more likely, allergic to something that you are applying to their hair. You could remove the products you routinely use on people's heads one at a time. You could also use a nasal steroid spray, prescribed by your doctor.
Avatar n tn I recently underwent the bloodtest for latex allergy. It came back negative but doc said I was positive (level I ) for bananas and kiwi. I saw the allergist b/c for the last several years I believe I had a latex problem. It began w/ noticing problems w/ condoms. I suffered what I thought were countless urinary tract infections, but when I would get tested, bacteria would never come up in the urine, but still docs would put me on an antibiotic.
Avatar m tn Three years ago, I went thru this test and everything was okay but I had some sort of allergy after one day with quite some swelling on face ( Edema) and had to take a shot of steroid and Allegra 180 for 3 to 4 days. I was givena lot of pressure lowering medicine as part of procedure. Is this kind of reaction known ? If I have to test again, what should I do. I also learn that it isnthe same dye used in Angiography ??? I am not heart patient now.
Avatar f tn I had a hysterectomy 9 years ago (ovarian cancer but no chemo) and have since developed chronic migraines + headaches, allergy to cat hair that was treated with allergy shots over 2 years, and an exacerbated dust allergy that did not respond to shots. My migraines involve great sensitivity to odours and sounds. You are well within your rights to ask people around you (at work or school) not to wear perfumes because most of the new perfumes are chemical-based.
Avatar m tn Hello, I have this condition where phlegm accumulates in my throat to the point where I must clear it while making unpleasant hawking noises. It feels like a lump is stuck to my throat which remains even after clearing it - although the unpleasant feeling does lessen. I've been having this issue since I was a child (I am 25 now). I've been to several ENT doctors, and even a few allergy and lung doctors.
Avatar f tn There are labels warning of products that are not peanut products that say that they are made on the same equipment as where peanuts were processed. Be on the alert for this, depending on how severe his allergy is. I'm sure your son's pediatrician or allergist must have also tested for all other nut allergies. Be on the look out even if he tested negative for the other nut allergies. People can have sensitivities that tested negative for allergies.
Avatar m tn Hi my name is Tony and i'm 23 years old.I've been putting together the pieces of this fatigue problem i've had as of recent. For the past three months or so i've been exibiting allergy type symptoms such as: red itchy eyes when i wake up, clear/white mucous from the nose and sometimes phlegm. This has been the 1st year I have had any allergy type symptoms. Preceding these allergies was a year of little sleep, excessive caffeine usage, and some alcohol use.
Avatar f tn Hello and hope you are doing well. It could be an allergic reaction. It is possible to develop allergic reaction to substances, to which we did not exhibit a reaction before. We can develop allergies to different things throughout our lifetimes as the allergy develops in response to a repeated stimulus. If you haven't undergone formal allergy testing, that might be beneficial. In the meantime for relief from your symptoms you can take OTC antihistamines.
Avatar n tn Symptoms of contact sensitivity and ulceration from oral menthol/peppermint-containing products improved with discontinuation and avoidance of these products. 61 Following ingestion of 40 drops of peppermint oil, a patient with no known allergies reported mucosal burns and edema of the tongue and oral cavity. 52 Excessive consumption of mint-flavored sweets caused stomatitis with oral papillary hypertrophy. Avoiding it might be wise.
Avatar f tn Recently I started receiving weekly allergy shots for pollen and pet danger, and noticed I was breaking out. I'm concerned due to never having a breakout to this extent while growing up, but the occasional pimple here and there. I mentioned it to the doctor and he dismissed this, said it could not be a reaction to the shots. Would there be anything other reason to this happening since the shots? ....
