Avatar f tn I am also taking Aromasin for bc. Stopped alendronate (I am osteopenic due to 30 yrs of prednisolone and Arimidex) in case this caused the oesophagitis. Would appreciate your advice.
Avatar f tn I took my first dose of Alendronate and then experience significant muscle pain for the next 4 days. Does anyone know if I should expect this to happen each time I take it or is it something to happen for the first few times until my body adjusts to the medicine?
Avatar n tn Do you mean Fosamax (alendronate)? If you do, its for treating bone problems like Osteoperosis by adding bone mass and slows bone loss. I use it for Osteopenia.
Avatar m tn The prescription drug Fosamax (the generic is alendronate sodium) is a medication which has been prescribed to hundreds of thousands of postmenopausal women to treat osteoporosis and help increase bone mass thereby reducing the chance of spinal or non-spinal fractures. Fosamax has also been prescribed to increase bone mass in men with osteoporosis. Brand name Fosamax is manufactured in the United States by Merck Sharp & Dohme Corp., a subsidiary of Merck & Co., Inc.
Avatar m tn The authors examined the effects of high-dose oral alendronate (40 mg daily) for 6 months on 3 adult patients with intractable headache due to fibrous dysplasia of the skull. Each patient had disease processes not amenable to surgery. The patients underwent clinical follow-up at 1, 3, and 6 months. Their pain levels were documented at each visit by using a visual analog scale. All 3 patients demonstrated a significant decrease in pain levels and became independent of scheduled analgesics.
Avatar m tn Part of the problems we are having in this country, I believe, stems from the formal education we have, or don't have. Basically the public education system we have has not changed over the last century, so what changes would you make if you could and if added cost is involved how would you pay for it.
Avatar m tn Enroll your child in special education. It is free in the USA. The role of special education is to provide exceptional educational, behavioral, therapeutic and vocational programs to individuals with special needs, to give them the necessary skills to learn to work and live successfully with dignity and independence. It helps people with special needs to live a life of dignity and self-worth.
9067885 tn?1415002692 So I have been seeing so many girls get bashed for asking dumb sex questions. The only problem is, maybe those questions aren't dumb to them. Maybe they haven't had the same access to sexual education as the rest of us. Maybe their parents didn't want them to learn so what might sound naive to us could be them trying to learn and make smart decisions. I get it, it definitely is annoying seeing these posts in this particular forum but there are several options left to us mommys. 1.
Avatar n tn what sex education should i give to my 8 year old daughter ? how should i describe to her?
Avatar f tn can somebody explain special education? My grandson has ADHD, mild depressive disorder, SID and emotional problems. He was removed at age 3 from his parents due to neglect by the parents who were heroin addicts. At 15 months he tested positive for being exposed to opium, benzo.... basically everything except marijuana through a hair folicle test. The mother was using drugs and breast feeding.

Avatar f tn Osteoporosis medications like Raloxifene (Evista), alendronate (Fosomax), risendronate (Actonel) and ibandronate (Boniva) all can cause flu like symptoms in individuals that are taking them. I am not sure what medications you are on, but this could be your problem.
Avatar f tn I really hope at least we can teach people over here not to get freaked out and stop their education....or at least medical health care.....I've seen it for real and I was so ashamed to ask for that test ( healthy people wanting to check their stomach and liver trouble were there and my voice was low.....I also wanted to leave and come back when the nurse if free to take me...). They all look so..but so strange.
Avatar m tn t just infiltrated hospitals and clinics -- it has taken over the medical education process too. You see, each year, doctors must take refresher courses to stay abreast of the latest "advances" in medicine. And these courses are funded almost solely by Big Pharma. Even worse, in most cases, drug companies get to pick and choose which courses they want to pay for -- and they usually opt for ones that promote their products.
Avatar n tn Hello to everyone viewing, I would like your advice and input on what I should do. I'm 18 a Senior (12th Grade) in high school, I reside with my grandmother and sister. My family is far less than wealthy you could say, and lately we have been having finance issues, clearly noticeable as my grandmother always fusses about it. Well recently I applied for employment at Wal Mart and was hired, I was so happy I was. Until they told me my hours of work would be 4PM - 1AM. Even on weekdays.
Avatar n tn Also, would it perhaps be possible to add some alendronate, or something else to help her bone density and still be able to benefit from the thyroid medication? Thank you so much!
