Alcohol allergy itch

Common Questions and Answers about Alcohol allergy itch

alcohol

Avatar n tn I asked for help on here a couple weeks ago for my alcohol intolerance/allergy. The first couple of times I ever drank I my forearms would swell up and break out in hives and itch very badly. I haven't gotten the hives in a while but my forearms still swell up and itch. Someone on here told me that I should take an antihistamine such a levocetrizine or cetrizine. I took 1 Zyrtec and I felt fine for a couple of hours but my arms eventually swelled up and started to itch again.
Avatar n tn Even a possibility to alcohol poisoning! Not worth taking the risk again by drinking alcohol for any reason (: Best wishes.
Avatar f tn for the last 4 weeks iv had really bad itch skin, feels like somethings crawling on my skin and after iv itched my skin feels like its burning, iv tried different moisturisers and allergy capsules even tried scabie medication can you help
Avatar m tn I know that there's something wrong with my liver. I been drinking for a very long time and afterwards I itch every where. My ears, head, armbits, and it's very irritating.
Avatar m tn Otherwise I would talk to your doctor about referring you to a psychiatrist they were really helpful to me and now I barely have the itch and when i do it is only mild and usually only in one spot
Avatar f tn I took him to the Vet for this itch and the vet said he has an allergy...and gave him a cortisone shot. The itch stopped for a year. Now I have no car to take him back in and he is always scratching under his chin and behind his head/neck.
Avatar n tn Sorry if this question has been asked many times before, but apparently I'm having red, itchy bumps all over my body; armpits, arms, neck, chest (including breasts), back, abdomen, legs, and around my private. Apparently none are on my face and feet. This has been happening for about four days now, and I've tried to use itch cream/powder.
Avatar f tn It definitely sounds like you could have some type of allergy to alcohol! I have a friend who has very similar symptoms after drinking but his normally starts within about 6 hours of having a couple of drinks. Alcohol allergies at some level is surprisingly more common than most people think. My advice, talk to your Dr. about it just to make sure its nothing more serious ie: liver issues. Good luck!
779797 tn?1263618235 s called intoxication, not allergy. None of your symptoms point to an alcohol allergy. I suggest you stay away from it. Why make matters worse? Have you seen a doctor for any of these symptoms? Something as simple as an inner ear problem can also cause dizziness. Allergies can pop up out of nowhere. Did you test positive for anything?
Avatar m tn Avoid wine and alcohol products if you know that they trigger an asthma/ allergy attack. There are already a number of wines without the preservatives that causes the allergy. But have yourself tested first with what you are allergic to.
Avatar n tn Thank you for the comment about the alcohol/red wine but I don't drink. Never have...but food allergy is interesting? I don't know that I have been doing anything different for the past year or so...when I first saw the blotches. I'll look for pics of broken capillaries but they look like small rasberries...if that makes any sense. I think I did look up lupus at one time but I am going to look again.
Avatar f tn It helps kill the itch and.break up the allergy going on under your skin making it easier for your body to.fight. If you are anti taking pills benadryl also makes a cream!
Avatar m tn It could be an allergy to alcohol, or certain types of alcohol, and totally unrelated to the mtx. Or the mtx is affecting your liver and kidney function to the point that it can't process the alcohol, leading to the itchy skin reaction. Either way, it sounds like you shouldn't be consuming alcohol until you find out the cause of your symptoms. This is something you don't want to test on your own, because allergies can be tricky.
Avatar n tn I have an itch that comes and goes over the years, there is no rash, but it just starts itching from under my skin, and it reoccurs in the same areas, my knees, my buttocks, may spread to outer thighs. the itch sometimes sting when triggered, when i scratch the area raises like welts, and get dark red. I a 37 year old female. it started six years ago, the longest period of rest before outbreaks is 1 year.
Avatar f tn I have these tiny tiny deep blisters popping up on my hands usually on the side or bottom of my fingers. The blisters are a dark color. They itch like crazy and don't pop unless I poke them. Then a tiny amount of clear fluid runs out. I have been to the doctor a few times and they all just guess one says contact dermatitis while the other says allergy, virus, impossible to tell. I get them on both hands sometimes in the same spots. Sometimes in completely new spots.
Avatar f tn My face is the only part of my body that never broke out. Itched sometimes. But because the face is oily, is doesn't usually dry unless you use soap on it. Do you? Use just a cotton wash cloth on your face. Strange thing is that many times when I touch my allergens with my hands, instead of my hands itching, I itch somewhere else on my body totally unrelated, and thus one would never know it was caused from what the hands were touching. Often the itch is on my torso and lower legs.
Avatar m tn I had an allergy to alcohol. It gave me asthma that once was so sudden and severe that I was blacking out. Luckily my dinner partner was a doctor. I was subsequently cured of the allergy. The throat problem certainly sounds like allergy, except for the delay in your reaction. It should be immediate. It seems more likely that alcohol or some additive in the alcohol is toxic for you. If that is the case you should never drink anything alcoholic.
Avatar m tn Itchy feet with tiny white blisters could be eczema, fungal infection, dermatitis, contact allergy with allergens like soap, chemicals, shoe material etc. If you itch between toes too, there are chances that it is scabies, fungal infection and sweat dermatitis. See if your feet come in contact with particular grass, shrubs, chemical etc. It can also be an infection under the skin or cellulitis. Do discuss this with a skin specialist as confirmed diagnosis is not possible on net. Take care!
Avatar n tn The symptoms of my allergies (grass, ragweed, dust, mold, cats and cockroaches) has always been itchy eyes, sneezing, congestion and an itch in my throat at the sides of my tongue about where the Eustachian tubes drain. For the past couple of months the throat itch has become more like an attack of pin jabs further down the throat that makes me cough until I gag.
