Adderall for menopause

Common Questions and Answers about Adderall for menopause

adderall

i have been taking adderall for over three years on and off and i lost 30lbs in just 2 weeks the first time i took it. My friend is taking it and she hasnt lost a single pound either and she has been taking it for almost 1 year now so i dont know what to tell you about the weight loss part. It helps if you have an active lifestyle too i am a cna and all i do is run around so it is easier to drop the weight off when you keep yourself busy all day long.
Would it be better to just increase the Effexor XR for my body weight? Or is too early to do that? Does the generic Adderall have the same effect as dexedrine? I felt nothing the day I took the Adderall, so did not take it again. The rest of the week I was really snapping at my students. Is there a rebound effect from the generic Adderall? My other choice is Wellbutrin for the Limbic ADD.
I have been taking Adderall XR 30 mg in the a.m. and 20mg mixed amph. salts in the early afternoon. I recently have noticed this swelling which does not entirely go away overnight. Exercise is somewhat helpful. I have not found anything in my reading which suggests that this is a side-effect after about 1.5 yrs of use. My MD has tried me on other meds for ADD but this most recent regime seems to work the best.
I have been on adderall for 7 years. I started at 19, but about one year ago at 25 I started noticing some new side effects from the adderall. Some days it worked, some days it didn't. My tolerance continued to go up, but I refused to take more than 20mg in one day. Exercising became frustrating and scary because my heart rate would race to 200+ in about 10 minutes, and I would consider myself to be quite fit.
The problem is that I am taking the Adderall for ADD and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I would rather not take any of the meds I take, but the contact and exposure to the toxins I was breathing caused irreversable endochrine disruption. I got to where I could not even drive my car safely. I had two accidents in less than a year and a whole bunch of other problems. Doctors kept telling me I was depressed and I knew that was not right.
I've finally started 90 mg of Cymbalta which has put in a decent mood for a change. 30 mg of Adderall a day has at least slowed the thoughts down so I can TRY to figure things out. Is Adderall supposed to help with organization? Procrastination? randome thoughts.....
My eyesight is also getting worse and worse monthly. I am so tired despite the fact that I take 80mg adderall er and 60 regular adderal. My mood has also changed, I once was the life of the party, until I got the flu about 6 years ago and ever since I am going downhill, I am so negative and sad all the time. I suspect that is from the pain. I have seen 8 doctors and no answers.
I took 5 different antibiotics for UTI's, i've had a transvaginal ultrasound, pelvic exam, and everything said I was fine. I have been feeling better, but every now and then, I have this tingling feeling in my groin area, and it is very uncomfortable and will last for days, then go away. I saw a urologist, who did a cystoscopy and he said everything was fine, my bladder was fine, and my urinary tract was fine, and that as a urologist he could no longer help me.
i had a complet e hystrectomy in 1996 was put on hormones and took for years till proberly 2001,the years have been hard and i suffer with depresson and anxiety...i feel i still need hormones,,i stopped then because i ran out of insurance.....went to a dr todfay and i have to get a mamogram before she will think about prescibig them and then i have high colestaral so i dont know if she will give them to me or not.........
Look up "magnesium deficiency symptoms" on the internet. It's a common deficiency. It would account for your above symptoms! Hope this helps!
Hello all, My wife has had addiction problems in the past with pain killers and then methadone (poison, in my opinion) I personally loathe the pharmaceutical industry and the doctors who have become their legal drug-dealers. Anyhow, my wife has Lso been on adderall for what she claims is ADHD. the thing is, it has NEVER helped her in any way. She has all the same problems she claims it helps her to manage.
Im going on 43 so drs just checked me for pre-menopause. And i am at the mid point of it. But i am concerned now because i cannot concentrate on anything. I feel lost and dumb founded most the time. I have always felt i was the normal "smart" . Always A & B student. but now i will run across different things that i used to do- examples...independant, was able to learn new things, remember things and now i cant get out and go to the store. I feel as if i am locked in my own house.
You are too young for this to be related to menopause or perimenopause, (unless early menopause runs in the women of your family. Ask them!) but have you noticed if this happens more around your cycle than not? It could be a hormonal imbalance not just from your periods but possibly your thyroid. Have you ever had yours checked? It might be worth a visit to your doc to see where your TSH levels are.
Hello. The tiredness is not related to a possible beginning of menopause. The tired feeling may be a symptom of chronic fatigue. This is evident from the fact that you are willing to work more, but the body does not allow you to. If I am not too intrusive, can I ask if there is any work related stress ?
• heat intolerance and out of control sweating (actually seems like general temperature control problems but it is hot now) • swelling in lower legs/ankles and hands (tightness in hot weather especially) • increased acne - including carbuncles/boils/cysts on the face • difficulty concentrating (I have been diagnosed AD/HD and have been on Adderall for a year and a half) • dry dry dry and papery/peeling skin (with acne!
So at 31 I take no Synthesis 200mcgs, at one time for 3 months, because Medicaid did not cover a doctor. I now take Geodone, Cymbalta, and Lithium for depression. Adderall for ADD and Kilinopin for anxiety and Elicit for sleep. I have a rash that has developed over my body that looks similar to that of bed bugs, which I am sure I don't have, and swollen feet! What the heck?! Can anyone help me, oh and I wax afraid of gaining weight too from the Synthesis but my worst fear has become a reality.
Update- dr thinks that a lot of my symptoms are because of adhd-perscribed me adderall..
Have you tried those ThermaCare pads for period cramps? I've used them for back pain, bad period cramps, and the hand ones for my hand, and I do find them somewhat beneficial.
All fluid...my dr has me on adderall for orthostatic edema but I think adderall caused my fluid retention even though it was supposed to cure it! Anyone know how to lower aldo? Do u find research on vit d to lower? I also try sea salt but think this makes me retain more fluid. Do u have high pulse when standing?
I understand that the best medical attention I can hope for is from a doctor who evaluates me in person - not the internet - but after seeing doctor after doctor, and no one has answers... I feel I must do what I can on my part to find additional help. I have been patiently suffering for 4 years, scratching... So this might be a little more information than necessary, but I want to thorough. I am currently seeing various doctors and I am going to see an acupuncture specialist on Friday.
to try and address my forgetfulness and difficulty concentrating Trazadone: otherwise I have complete insomnia (lately I have had insomnia despite taking this) Hydrocodone: the ONLY thing that gives me even a brief period of relief from my headaches Propranolol: just started as another option for addressing headaches My headaches and exhaustion have been over the top this last 1-2 weeks, where the Hydrocodone is providing relief for shorter and shorter periods of time.

Oh yeah, happenns in your 40-50's too, it's called menopause, LOL.
They definitely worked, Doc seen great improvement except for the endurance. Many test for every other possible aliment, The thyroid gets checked every 3 months. Its normal!, I have discussed taking the synthroid even though the bloodwork is normal. The last test did show my body was fighting a virus but the gastro said it just comes with the territory, He said, nothing to be concerned about. They did cytokine test but there is nothing that I found to treat/supplement.
I sure hope you are all having a nice Holiday. Welcome to the room those who are new. Thank you so much for finding us. I know you can do this!
