I have friends who are RN's and that is one tough, stressful job. I can't imagine what it would be like without RNs around.
I am probably off beat here, but I would be remiss if I didn't throw this out. You were diagnosed at 19. Were you in college then? Sometimes, the college doctors since they can't do the normal surveys of teachers, go more on the need of the patient and maybe don't follow the actual guidelines.
So I am thinking of giving him a 1/4 of a 20mg adderall to start off with and see how that works does anyone else take adderall for head trauma? Just wanting to know if it has helped them. Thank you for responses, and I know the law of giving un prescribed drugs out, but the drugs he should be taking no one will prescribed them until he has a neurologist, but we cannot afford one with the state not helping us. All we have is each other and I have done everything I can do, alone.
My eyesight is also getting worse and worse monthly. I am so tired despite the fact that I take 80mg adderall er and 60 regular adderal.My mood has also changed, I once was the life of the party, until I got the flu about 6 years ago and ever since I am going downhill, I am so negative and sad all the time. I suspect that is from the pain. I have seen 8 doctors and no answers.
Why is my 'shrink' trying to treat my Adult ADD with Bubropion HCL SR (100mg tab 2X a day)? Is this the right med for me? Good grief...it didn't even cut out my smoking. Both of my adult children are on Adderall and are doing fine. My doc keeps telling me that Concerta & Adderall are 'too addictive' ... what the heck ... I am not looking to get high or anything ... I just want to be able to have a med to make my ADD manageable.
ve taken both Provigil and Adderall to help with the bad fatigue I get. I like Provigil a lot more than Adderall. It seems to have less severe side-effects for me. The only problem is that it causes my Irritable Bowel Syndrome to get out of control. So frustrating! Other than that, I would really recommend it. Best of luck to you, I hate the fatigue of this illness.
A friend of mine that I've known for 15 years now has been acting a little strange lately. On Tuesday 5/20 she called me late & told me she was on her way to my house b/c she was leaving her husband of 8 years. She said she needed a place to stay til Friday. She did not tell her sister parents what she was doing. Her husband told them on Thurs. 5/22. The next day, Friday, her family tried to sit her down & talk to her about what she was doing. She punched her sister in the face.
I have been prescribed Concerta 27.5 mgCR which is like adderall for ADHD. My doctor also prescribed Phenteramine 37.5 mg for weight loss. I take both together in the morning. I do go to him every month and have a check up so he can check my blood pressure...it is always low anyways. But he does keep a close eye on me. Also, if I have something stressfull happen in my life, I drop the phenterimine for a couple of days to prevent an anxidy attack.
I hope you know that adderall has caused death in some people ,they found that some people get high blood pressure and also some have had strokes after taken adderall and some have had heart problems .
to me it wouldn't be worth getting good grades.
also you should never take someone else drugs.
my son has been on adderall and then concerta ,until I found out he was having Seizures witch can also be a side effect from these drugs.
I have been on Vyvanse for a while now. And was worried when they doctor said it was very similar to Adderall XR. But he promised me that the issues I was having with feeling ill, insomnia, and no appitite would lessen on Vyvanse. And that the nasty, gross stimulant feeling I got from Adderall would go away.
And he was right about everything and then some. And believe me if there is a side effect to have I will have it.
i had a complet e hystrectomy in 1996 was put on hormones and took for years till proberly 2001,the years have been hard and i suffer with depresson and anxiety...i feel i still need hormones,,i stopped then because i ran out of insurance.....went to a dr todfay and i have to get a mamogram before she will think about prescibig them and then i have high colestaral so i dont know if she will give them to me or not.........
I want any advice or information from experienced members, who have succeeded in quitting w/long-term Adderall addiction. I'd been prescribed Adderall for the first time in 2000. My Doctor has steadily increased my dosages (up to 120mg daily) over the years. She has also experimented with various other alternatives (Ritalin, Dexedrine, Vyvance, etc) with mixed results. I don't feel that long term health effects; are justified by short term benefits (that I might not get).
we have battled this for 5 years...he has me in so much debt cause he would go write checks for adderall or extra methadone and i would have to go get small loans to cover the bank. I became addicted to oxycodone 15mg in 2012 after my first back surgery, obviously I was on them while I was in the hospital for 7days after surgery then took them for about 4 days once I got home. I tried to stop and became sick and realized I was addicted. I go to a pain clinic for my chronic pain. Since then I had surgery on my elbow and just 2 weeks ago I had another back surgery. My oxycodone has never been upped in dosage so of course it doesn't help with the pain.
