Common Questions and Answers about Acne cream that works

acne

Avatar f tn Anyone having issues with acne during pregnancy? I already had acne but now it has tripled. I get pimples out of no where. I ready benzoyl peroxide isn't good to use but that's what I'm using. What products are ladies using?
Avatar m tn I have been given Acuatim cream to use twice a day, and have been told that I should take oral antibiotics if the cream doesn`t work. Every acne antibiotic I review on the neet suggests that they can cause coltis (pseudomembranous?), so I am concernd as to what oral medication I can take? Any other colitis sufferers out there taking oral acne treatment? If so, what works for you? Many thx and remission wishes for all.
1155893 tn?1263018015 Hello, Tretinoin or Retin A is the acidic form of vitamin A. it is used for acne as well as post inflammatory hyperpigmentation caused by acne scars after acne. You can use it as advised by your dermatologist. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn I haven't had any acne at all, but try Clean & Clear foaming face wash. It has an antibacterial ingredient (not salicylic acid) that gets rid of bacteria. Also, Dr. Lin's Hydrating Gel is good to use instead of fame cream, and might soothe painful acne. I'm not sure, since I haven't had any breakouts, these are products I've just always used daily that might be helpful.
Avatar f tn The dermatologist prescribed first a clindamycin phosphate topical cream, that did not work. Then he prescribed clidamycin/peroxide cream and a face wash, that only dry my skin and did not help at all. A second dermatologist prescribed some safe antibiotics (keflex 500 mg twice daily) and azaleic acid cream. I start taking this and it finally help with my terrible acne. I have acne in my back, face and chest. Some its really deep and leave marks everywhere.
Avatar f tn Benzoyl peroxide is an acne medication that oxidizes the pore so it really cleans out dirt...it works for those closed comedones (the whiteheads, chicken skin bumps etc.) that we sometimes get on our arms as well. The thing is that you have to use it with an alpha-hydroxy cream (neutrogena makes one, and I'm sure other brands do too..) because this removes the dead skin so there is nothing blocking the acne medication in the benzoyl peroxide from getting into the pore.
Avatar f tn My doctor prescribed me an acne cream/gel and it works wonders! I also use this expensive face wash I got as a grift that's amazing too.
Avatar m tn Recently i heard that toothpaste works as a great acne cream. All excited i rushed to put some on the few pimples that I had and had decided to use it as a facial mask on the areas around my nose. I made a horrible mistake and had left it on overnight. My skin feels amd looks like I have really bad sunburn and have just came back from a trip to mexico. It's very dry around my nose and is starting to peel, i believe. What should i do, and will any scarring be involved.?
Avatar m tn First of all, I am a 60 year old man. For about a year now I have this nasty condition on my head from the top down the back and on the sides. It acts just like acne. I've always had acne and still do but never this condition. As I said, this particular condition just started about a year ago. I went to the doctor and he gave me antibiotics and that solved the problem. Unfortunately, one can't take antibiotics indefinately. This condition is painful and embarresing.
Avatar n tn For starters, get back to the doctor and try a different antibiotic and/or cream. There a many many products that could work for you. Also be sure to cleanse the areas daily with a gentle acne wash so you wont further irritate the skin. Over scrubbing can make it much worse. (Remove make up at night.!) I like Neutrogena products...Theres one called Neutrogena Clear Pore Mask/Cleanser. Works well without irritating. About $6 at walmart. Pro Active worked well for my teenagers.
Avatar f tn Mine finally started to clear up around 20-24 weeks? Still get the scattered few but much smaller. Since its hormonal there's not a whole lot to be done other than regular face washing to try and keep your pores as clean as possible. And even though it becomes more tempting try and avoid foundation and makeup as it will just compound the problem.
Avatar f tn I shall certainly take your advice, starting with the benzoyl peroxide cream, and very much hope that it finally does the trick.
Avatar n tn I suggest you apply some aloe vera to your acne to soothe it. I also suggest that you stay away from physical scrubs as they can make acne worse by spreading bacteria as well as further irritating the affected skin. There is a cream out there called, Effaclar Duo, it works very well, without drying the skin out.
Avatar f tn Yeah I have never had a problem with acne til I was about 6 weeks pregnant and I still get some acne but since I've started washing my face in the morning and at night and not wearing make up it has gotten a lot better. I still get a blemish once in a while but not as bad as it was.
Avatar f tn I kept stripping away all the oils and my face would freak out and over produce...and the moisturizer helped to prevent that. Find something that works for you and your skin type.
9787569 tn?1416485172 If you find something that works, let me know!!! Kind of restricted as my skincare specialist has said no vitamin A, E, any acids (gycolic, citric, saylicilic) basically anything active in most acne products due to risk.
Avatar m tn and rainlover had somebody used the cucumber and had hiv and put it in their anus still no risk? and it wasnt acne cream it was a tube of acne cream which i had put in my anus sorry im not very educated about hiv what is my risk 0? both of u agree?
384896 tn?1335294331 Well, does it look like tiny zits? red ones? Cause it could be baby acne which goes away on it's own and don't pop them... Her pours are working on their own, this happens to all kids at some point before their 1. If it was exzema it's be patches of dry and flakey stuff. I believe you probably know what it lookd like though, but really sounds like acne. You can put some Eucerin Cream/Lotion on it.
Avatar m tn To avoid scars, remember not to pop the pimples and cysts. Use a hot compress to help bring them to a head so that they pop naturally, or so that the swelling will go down.
Avatar n tn thank you so much for responding. i was given this monocyline Hcl 100mg with cream which has this oleanolic acid formula.is this cream for acne scars or acne?or for both?i have been using both tablet and cream for 20 days.i didn't see much of the change in fadeness of scars or maybe it takes time.please let me know what is this cream exactly for.
Avatar f tn The day after I stopped using the hydrocortisone cream, the rash reappeared with the same tiny puss filled postules that resembled acne vulgaris, but worse and now itchy and painful. I had started using a new shampoo and facewash recently within the last 2 months which both contained sodium lauryl sulphate which many websites have claimed may be the cause of perioral dermatitis.
Avatar n tn Eight years ago I had a rash around my lip that I treated with a steroid cream, which then caused Perioral Dermatitis. My dermatologist gave my minocyline for 1 month and metro cream which completely cleared it up. Three months ago the dermatitis came back, I was not using any steriod cream at the time, but I believe it flared because of a new concealer I was using to cover a little redness around my nose.
549876 tn?1219952270 I was told the only thing you can use is a product with benzoyle peroxide...clearasil vanishing cream has that as the active ingredient. It is what I have been using. The acne is driving me crazy too!
