Abscess tooth fix

Common Questions and Answers about Abscess tooth fix

abscess

by the time i got to the er the doctor told me that my abscess was 1 inch by 3/8 of an inch big. that is pretty large for an abscess. with something like this the longer you put it off the worst it will get. hope you feel better soon.
see both then make a choice endo and a surgeon thats what I did and made the choice for the tooth to be removed and an implant put in. I made the right choice in my case the tooth could not be saved and the implant is amazing better than my real tooth. I chose the later after hearing there was no garantee another root canal would take and if it did maybe for a year or two and I did not want to go to one then have the other a few years later.
My husband has had problems with a tooth for about 9 months. Just recently some pus drained from the tooth. He has also had a low grade fever. I am wondering if a side effect from a long term abscessed tooth can be blood in his semen. A doctor put him on Amoxicillin 1500mg every 8 hours for 6 doses then 500mg every 8 hours for 14 days. Is this proper treatment?
I would recommend an ice pack to help with the swelling but I would strongly urge you to see a dentist to fix the source of the abscess before it becomes more widespread and serious.
then after that for 2 or 3 days i was in terrible terrible shape the pain was unbearable !!! so im pretty sure i had an Abscess tooth.. i was in soooo much pain after eating for hours at a time and happened a few times a day.. i couldnt take it!! i couldnt sleep and had to keep an ice pack on my head to help numb the pain.. So i went to the dentist and he got the "bad root" out and i got antibiotics i took for a week.. its been about 2 weeks or so now and i feel some what normal..
How ever I have had a Dentist in the past 7 months to fix another tooth that was very severe so the Dentist took care of that one first, and said I would have to go to Oral Surgeon to have these cut out. I don't have any pain around the teeth for there are only pieces left but I am having headaches, soreness to the touch, and a little facial pain I'm on Biaxin in case this is abscess and have been on it for five days with another weak to go!
Seeing a dentist to get rid of abscess is advised.
It looks like there's a gingival abscess on there possibly. Does cleaning the area help at all? You should go back to see the dentist immediately to make sure it isn't anything serious.
So the sooner you can get the infection under control, the sooner your dentist will be able to fix your tooth so hopefully this won't happen again. I can empathisize with how you're feeling - I've had tooth abscesses in the past and they are VERY painful! mary above is correct, too, that some of the side effects you might be experiencing from the oxycodone may disappear as your body gets used to it.
The other RC was done a couple of years ago because of sensitivity and some indication of minor root decay due to old trauma (probably when I broke the other front tooth.) I still have a pressure feeling in the newer RC tooth. I also have intermittent recession of the gums on both teeth. In recent weeks I have had stinging in gums around both front teeth, particularly where the crown meets the roof of my mouth in the back. I have some noticeable recession of the gums and redness.
Death of pulp tissue can lead to serious tooth infection and abscess. Dental implants preserve bone since they function like tooth roots. The implants should be completely embedded in the bone. The bones must bond to the implants; this whole process takes place between 3 to 9 months on an average. The overall time required depends on number of factors involved like patient’s dental health, which teeth are to be replaced etc.Clarify your concerns with your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
I have an abscessed tooth and its in my gums on bottom, been on antibiotics, painkiller for five days, swollen and big lump on jaw. Dentist wont lance it because it still hasn't come up to a head yet. Should I go to ER, or just give it more time?
I thought it was an abscess forming so I called my dentist and got an emergency appointment. My gum had swollen between two teeth, not considerably but enough to see something wasn't right. My dentist flossed, took an x ray and then did a scale and polish. He said more than likely some food got trapped down there and caused inflammation and the pain will subside.
I went to the dentist about a year ago and they did pull a wisdom tooth on the same side on top. The dentist said the other tooth was too bad to fix. I had chiped it and it just kept getting worse and getting a bad cavity in it. He tried to pull it but it hurt too bad. He kept giving me shot after shot and it would not relieve the pain or numb me to get it out. He said I might have an infection so prescribed me amoxicillin and told me to return it ten days.
I am in the midst of phase I of a reconstruction of my teeth due to bruxism and/or TMJ. After the 4 hr. appt to prepare my upper teeth for the impressions, my dentist decided to fix a problematic tooth not specified in the phase I project. He found I needed a root canal, which he did. During the procedure, he said my "devital" tooth had abscessed and he worked on that.
I went to the dentist yesterday and she said the tooth which i had root canal done around 10 years ago has got reinfected and caused abscess. I also need another root canal on another tooth along with 2 fillings. I can either get the 2 teeth that require root canal extracted or get root canal on them. I am beginning to think the absessed tooth at the top has been the cause of my throat problem all along. Could i be right in thinking this????
That it is NORMAL that when a tooth is opened (for RT) that bacteria could get in there. DUH. But to me, it is NOT NORMAL that a Dentist would leave my teeth exposed for such a long time. He said that it had nothing to do with this. To him, it is all normal. I am worried to death that I will have to have my teeth pulled. I actually have 4 teeth that are bothering me after the work he has done. He says he will repair them for free. Of course he better! But that is not the point.
Tylenol 3 was on the list but I ended up not needing it. As for the dentist I would blow there phone up. The abscess is full of infection so it needs to be taken care of ASAP. Regardless of how far pregnant along you are they can atleast drain it.
Tooth numbness can be caused due to a number of reasons like apical abscess, pulpitis, impacted tooth, dental abscess, dental cavities. It would be better if you consult a good dentist for the purpose at the earliest.
How long does it take for a cavity to develop a periapical abscess? When is the tooth too far gone to save it? Hope to hear from an expert.
My grandmother had an abscess tooth, it was treated with a root canal and currently it's been three weeks after the treatment, and she's still feeling extreme pain and numbess in her lower jaw-half of her chin and lip. Her lymph glands are very swollen. She's taking an antibiotic but needs to know if there's any type of emergency fix because her next appointment isn't until next Thursday and she wants to know if there is any alternative, faster treatment for this.
i also got root canal treatment for the tooth above which i got this gum problem.is there any problem because of the tooth ? the swollen gums are not exactly near the tooth. it is near the bones on the upper side.can anyone help me to know what is the problem and do i need to visit the dentist urgently?
It'll probably worsen over time and may potentially abscess. In some cases, the pain may stop because the nerve will die inside the tooth. But that indicates that the infection has spread deep into the tooth and it can continue to spread into the jaw bone, rest of the head, down the neck, etc.
I went 2 the drntist he said root canal when I went 2 the enodontic she said no root canal I went 2 several dentist's and enodontis $ 5000 later one dentist said u may have a cracked tooth so the best way 2 go is 2 case after the crack fix it & put a crown... So I did that procedure he was happy as he felt he did not have 2 drill 2 deep & he caught the crack ...3mts later it hurt again went back & forth... Finally a root Canal was done & a crown was placed on my muller..
Hi, I had a dental abscess in February last year on one of my front bottom teeth which was treated with a root canal and antbiotics. It seemed ok but about 2 months ago a small hole appeared on the gum in front of this teeth which sporadically leaks pus and the tooth feels sore now and then (with varying intesity of pain). My dentist has prescribed 2 courses of amoxicillin now but this has not fixed the problem. Any advice on what I should do now?
I had the first part of a root canal done (on the last tooth on the upper left side of my mouth) 2wks ago&after that procedure there was almost no pain.I went back for the 2nd part of the root canal 10 days later&the dentist said the tooth was still infected&was bleeding during the procedure.I have been on really strong antibiotics (Clindamycin 500mg 3x/day;Clarithromycin 500 mg 2x/day;Amoxicillin 500mg 2x/day)for 2wks now.I am also taking 600mg of Ibuprofen 2x/day for 2 wks.
So a few years ago tooth #10 had to have a root canal (the one between the front tooth and the canine) and after i had it done, an abscess formed on the gum above the tooth and I had to go back in (don't know if they redid the root canal; do they do that to fix an abscess?) in any case, it hurt a lot for a long time after the root canal, but eventually it calmed down. A few months ago, the tooth started hurting again.
It is unlikely the emergency clinic has these capabilities, so you shouldn't need to go there. Antibiotics do not fix the problem alone. It is known that one problem tooth can get an abscess and it spreads to other teeth under the gumline and you can't see it. Get the problem tooth (teeth) remove before others are affected. It is much better off without a tooth rather than have a painful tooth. Xrays are the only way to know which are affected.
