Abilify can seriously effect your blood sugar even make you diabetic.

I ws on a high dose of Abilify and it put my liver panel out of whack. He took me off of it for a couple of weeks when the panel went back to normal values, then slowly put me back on Abilify still checkng labs againt the dose. I ended up getting it discontnued by weaning off and taking on another psych med, because it gave me motion problems. I don't take that many meds now. I am only on 2 psych meds for now. .

This led to me getting scared and confused about irrational things. I was taken to a hospital and put on a psychotropic drug called Abilify. I was on the drug for 4 months and then tapered off of it under doctors direction. I've been off of it now for almost two months. I was on only a low dose for the final 2 months (5 mg) Unfortunately I'm still having symptoms of muscle ridgidity and lightheadedness, which I first remember having while on the drug.

Perhaps Hector or someone can comment on Abilify and it's effects on the liver. A search of " Abilify Liver Damage" produces, to this unqualified eye, alarming results. This drug is devastating to the liver and it alone may account for many of his worse symptoms, perhaps even the progression from stage 2 to stage 4 in the relatively short time of less than 8 years.

Therefore, I want to have her take the maintenance dose of abilify like the psychiatrist wants. Can she also take the sam e along with abilify? It appears that sam e has been used safely with SSRI's. I am also hoping that her blood tests will be OK when taking both together.

Recently, I was give Lamictal, and had terrible side effects. Then he tried Abilify, with the same results. Now he is talking about (He=doctor) depakote. I am afraid to take this med because I also have hep c, and read where it is exceptionally hard on the liver. What else do they recommend for bi-polar disorder? My 7 yr old son was prescribed Abilify 5 mg to be taken once a day. He started the medicine on Thursday and Saturday afternoon we were in the emergency room because he was urinating blood. There is no reason you can't take Abilify with Zoloft. I take Abilify with several other medications. It started working within 2 weeks and my depression decreased dramatically. One common side effect of Abilify is akathisia, a restless need to move. I have that but added propranolol and it stopped it completely with no other side effects.

Lightheadedness and uncontrollable shaking are side effects of Abilify. Some other ones are weight gain, nausea and dizziness. I tried Abilify with my antidepressant. After a few months on Abilify, my anxiety was actually worse. I noticed that the Abilify caused me to be agitated and restless (like I couldn't get confortable or sit still, kind of jittery) Abilify is really ment more to aid in the treatment of depression than it is anxiety. It's designed to be used as an antidepressant add on drug to give a bit more antidepressant punch rather than an anti-anxiety punch. Bad idea I think.

Have you had these symptoms checked out by your GP? Abilify does cause shaking and tremors, and just because your psychiatrist hasn't seen these side effects doesn't mean they aren't being caused by the Abilify. I doubt the Abilify is doing much to help you, it's rare to get this many years out of one medication as our bodies build up a tolerance to these types of medications.

I dont think Abilify works for depression alone. I ran out of my effexor xr (antidepressant) and only took my abilify and was a real mess for a week.. It was as if i werent taking anything. The abilify doesnt work alone in my case. Its only a booster pill, so to speak. I was tearful and restless without my antidepressant. However that could have been withdrawal or something.

I mix seroquel and abilify without issued only the Abilify has finally gotten my appetite under control and im losing weight Seroquel causes weight gain but nothing like the weight gain with Zyprexa.
