Zyrtec with vicodin

Common Questions and Answers about Zyrtec with vicodin

Avatar n tn This is a very helpful forum but most of the posts I'm reading are a few years old. I wanted to share my experience about vicodin. I started taking them about 5 years ago and since I knew well the effects of too much tylenol, I quickly started using 10/500 or 10/325 tablets. At my worst, I took 8-10 per day of these pills. In the beginning, it was for euphoria. 20 minutes after taking a pill, I got a woosh and could stand up after work and work for 4 hours more at home.
Avatar f tn I'm on day five of being free from vicodin. I wasn't on it real long, about two months for a bad back, then for a little bit after surgery. I wanted to come off of it to see where my pain level was without it, so I went from about 6 10/325 pills a day, down to 1 just at night. I felt the worst of the withdrawals with that decrease on days 3-5, and on day 3 of that I stopped it altogether. I started with the cold sweats and insomnia real bad, now I'm just constantly freezing.
Avatar n tn To come to body's defense vicodin withrawl is not life threatening like benzo's and other drugs, dangerous is a sticky word but to set the record straight unless you are a sick person to begin with, vicodin withdrawl is not dangerous and not life threatening, people detox cold turkey every day and live to tell about it. yea it sucks but will not kill you.
Avatar n tn However, phenylephedrin is a decongestant, benadryl is an antihistamine and vicodin is a narcotic pain reliever. The concern would be that both bendryl and the vicodin would cause drowziness on their own. They would magnify that effect when taken together. You might want to take Zyrtec instead of the benadryl as Zyrtec doesn't cause the drowziness that benadryl does. Other than that, they are safe to take together, but don't drive and limit other activities. Take care.
Avatar n tn When and if I find something that helps, I will post. Meanwhile, my thoughts are with all of us who have these crazy symptoms with no answers. Hang in there.
Avatar f tn And lastly I will tell him how my GP wanted to treat it with Zyrtec and ask if he thinks that's how I should treat it or if he thinks I should treat it some other way with something else instead or along with the Zyrtec. But then I'll be confused about which treatment(med)to take if he disagrees with my GP. Can you all of a sudden become allergic to a drug you've been taking for months? My dr doesn't seem to think you can but can you?
Avatar f tn After I got out, The allergist put me on singulair, zyrtec, allegra, and tagamet. Two weeks later I ended up in the ER again with facial swelling, hives, and abdominal pain. Since I had the abdominal pain, they did a CT scan and found an ovarian cyst, gave me some pain meds, pumped me full of benadryl and steroids, prescribed me more anti-histamines, and let me go home.
Avatar n tn I have also been suffering with migraines and my OB said I could take Acetamenophin/Hydrocodone. I'm just so worried I'm hurting the baby! I'm 6 wks along. Has anyone else had experience with these medications? HELP!
Avatar f tn Now if he were to substitute the Vicodin for another pain med then I would be okay with that. But I'm afraid he won't since he's trying to see if this was an allergic reaction to the Vicodin, he may fear that I'll have an allergic reaction to any other pain med as well if it were indeed from the Vicodin.
255075 tn?1208136424 Someone is BS'ing you, no amount of amphetamine is going to stop opiate WD. It will help with some of the aches and pains because it is a non-narcotic painkiller but it is the OXY that is physically addictive that is giving you the WD symptoms.
Avatar n tn He is taking Pamelor 20 mg for headaches, Vicodin for pain, Veramyst spray for allergies, Zyrtec for allergies. Previously, he was on a round of Augmentin before surgery, Levaquin after surgery, and tried various other pain relievers such as Darvocet, Fioricet, an Imitrex without success. People tell me to take him to a University or a specialty clinic. I have made some calls, but they want to know what specific doctor to see. I don't know what kind of doctor he needs.
Avatar f tn If it is an allergic reaction to say a medicine I'm taking, it may not go away just by treating the symptoms if I never stop taking the med that's causing it, right?Would you just take the Zyrtec and not change or stop taking any medicine-especially the Vicodin and wait a few months like he said to see if it goes away on that? Or would you instead try to go to an allergist and pos. a dermatologist to figure out if it is an allergic reaction and if so to what?
620048 tn?1358021835 And I did not want to take my methodone but I gave in and took 2 of them today. I can't stand it nor can i work with it. I have been trying to fill out forms for Soc. Avatar f tn and just now after 7 yrs and 2 biopsies- one on my face and one on my calf and I was finally diagnosed with small fiber neuropathy. As you see, I have small fiber neuropathy all over my entire body including my face. As a matter of fact it started in my face and progressed downward instead of starting in the feet and progressing upward. My doctor said I have a very, very rare type of small fiber neuropathy.

Avatar n tn None of the OTC cough meds or anti-allergy meds make a dent. I don't know if this is at all associated with WD, but I know the great people here will enlighten me about it one way or another. Thanks.
784382 tn?1376934640 thank you all.......please god let everything go well with this surgery.
Avatar n tn In addition, I have a very bad back and am in pain 99% of the time and going to PT twice a week for that. I am taking vicodin for this which helps with the pain but the doc only gave me a 2 week supply also for fear that I will become addicted. I am sick of living in pain, depression and anxiety. I wish there was a magical cure for all of this.
566544 tn?1219441277 I mustve taken too much benadryl, visteril, xanax, zyrtec and you name it as I had a lot of shortness of breath all night. (I was seriously scratching til I bled, and when I slept I dreamnt bugs were biting me everywhere.) The prednison is now kicking in, but I'm terrified it will get bad bad bad again in a few days when I'm through the dosepack. I am just so tired. And I wish someone had told me about how hard methadone was to stop before prescribing it to me for pain.
Avatar f tn I am a married woman with 4 children and I have been ill for the past four months. I have been to 4 doctors now, First incident was a sudden onset, i was sitting here fine and all of a sudden extreme pain on my left side, so i assumed oh.. probably just another UTI, so i grabbed a couple jugs of cranberry juice and started drinking that non-stop for the past 2 days, and that didn't help and the pain got worse...by day 3 i was very i'll had a fever of 103.
544292 tn?1268886268 LOL Welcome and I hope you will make yourself at home. Snuggle down, get comfy. There's a lot of information and experience here with getting off Tramadol. It's not impossible, lots of peeps here now living Tram Free Lives! Love & Healing!
Avatar n tn I am taking ambien for sleep, zofran and/or phenergan for nausea, zyrtec for the itching, tylenol for discomfort and vicodin for extreme pain occasionaly.
Avatar f tn In the afternoon she saw that some of the rashes were coming back and we decided to try an antihistamine as well. We went with Zyrtec. She's on day three since trying the salt baths/Zyrtec and the rashes and flare ups are significantly less frequent and less irritating then before. She could sleep through the night without any rashes or itchininess and woke up with no symptoms. we're on day four right now and hopefully it goes away soon. Good luck to everyone.
1684282 tn?1505701570 I am becoming somewhat frustrated with the way a lot of my colleagues practice medicine. Disenchanted, angry would be the other words that could be used. We all get ostensibly that same training and all of us are supposedly in it to help our patients. So, how come have I been getting so many letters lately on my addiction forum from desperate people unable to quit taking the tramadol pills that their own kind doctors have so freely prescribed for them?
Avatar f tn It is an older drug and will make you drowsy for the first couple weeks, but that goes away completely with time. Zyrtec, Zantac, Prednisone, allegra, etc.........all garbage. Take Elavil and Be Free Again!!!!! -Best of Luck to all, I feel for all of you.
Avatar m tn I’m a 28 year old male with acute sinusitis and a deviated septum and my sinus cavities are packed with polyps. When I was younger I had an allergy test done, and I was allergic to a few things, 20 years later, same test I was so allergic to everything they put on me that they had to stop because I swelled up so much. I don’t understand how that could happen that I could be so allergic to so many things in a few years.
Avatar m tn I just wanted to share with you what happened to me yesterday. I was hit with cravings out of the blue that totally knocked me on my a$$! I was also dealing with a lot of emotional stuff. I IMMEDIATELY reached out. It took a dear friend of mine holding my hand all day to get me through. Thank goodness I reached out. Otherwise who knows what might have happened. I might have thrown almost 3 months down the drain. Prepare. Have a plan in place. Reach out when you need to. Like I said before.
Avatar n tn I'm sick of just dealing with the growing amount of itchy hives. My doctor told me with aquagenic the hives stay on the torso and rarely go anywhere else. After 2 yrs they have spread and go anywhere depending on the amount of time I'm showering/working out/ or even just standing in the sun or wearing my winter coat, and lately i just always have them. I've dealt with this all alone long enough and I was wondering if there was anyone else who has it?
Avatar f tn A crappy divorce that left me feeling like I was used and thrown out. Followed by a relationship with a man that lied and cheated. Multiple times. I remember being in so much emotional pain, that I just started popping pills and at the time, it seemed like a good way out, a much needed relief from the pain. They took the pain away allright and they were great for maybe 6 months.
