Zyrtec with vicodin

Common Questions and Answers about Zyrtec with vicodin

zyrtec

Avatar n tn These types of questions are always best answered by a docotor or pharmacist. However, phenylephedrin is a decongestant, benadryl is an antihistamine and vicodin is a narcotic pain reliever. The concern would be that both bendryl and the vicodin would cause drowziness on their own. They would magnify that effect when taken together. You might want to take Zyrtec instead of the benadryl as Zyrtec doesn't cause the drowziness that benadryl does.
Avatar f tn Hi again. Thank you for your advice and suggestions and answers, you've been very helpful to me.I'm sorry to admit that I am 25yrs old even though I don't seem like it talking about asking my parents if I can and what not. But I live with them and they help pay for my medical expenses bc I cannot work(I have several pain disorders) that make it impossible for me to work and plus I cannot take care of myself so I live with them and they take care of me.
Avatar m tn Next day I started taking Zyrtec. Itch stopped but rash still continued to appear and disappear especially on my neck, arms, and hands. It appears mostly when I finish my shower even though I don't use hot water in shower. I did blood test days ago, I have ALT = 51 which is over the limit (46). Months ago my ALT was 26. I stopped using Zyrtec, and my doctor told me to use Atarax. However, its been a week and the rash is still the same. I am very worried about it. What shall I do?
Avatar n tn He has done quite well with Allegra for seasonal allergies, and even better with Zyrtec. Zyrtec is OTC but allegra is not. Both are well tolerated with Risperdal. Benaadryl is not good with Risperdal. My son, age 17, is zonked out when he takes both. He basically is out like a light and doesn't wake up in the morning (until about 12 hours later) the few times he has taken it. Not good at all. Claritin does not work for him either, nor anyone in my family.
Avatar n tn has zyrtec been banned,i cant find it anywhere,if it has been banned then wot was the reason?
Avatar f tn I also take my Zyrtec at that time. I just started the probiotics and was taking them with breakfast but have read that they should be on an empty stomach. That's my only real empty stomach time because of all my other stuff so now I'm concerned about them interacting with my thyroid meds. Anyone?
Avatar f tn I got 4 trigger point injections with Marcaine done 3 weeks ago for the first time ever for Fibromyalgia. That was on a Friday. The next day-Saturday (about 27hrs later), I discovered that I had several red blotchy rashes all over most of my upper body(chest, breasts, stomach, whole back, shoulders and upper arms, and face. It lasted a few minutes and then disappeared just on its own.
7945295 tn?1397658820 My doc okayed zyrtec with my last pregnancy and with my current pregnancy
Avatar f tn I got the ok on zyrtec during pregnancy from my allergist, OB, and pharmacist. I am positive that zyrtec is ok.
Avatar f tn I'm on day five of being free from vicodin. I wasn't on it real long, about two months for a bad back, then for a little bit after surgery. I wanted to come off of it to see where my pain level was without it, so I went from about 6 10/325 pills a day, down to 1 just at night. I felt the worst of the withdrawals with that decrease on days 3-5, and on day 3 of that I stopped it altogether. I started with the cold sweats and insomnia real bad, now I'm just constantly freezing.
Avatar m tn I took zyrtec around 8:00 PM and my allergies are really bad so i wanted to know if it is safe to take Allegra now
Avatar f tn I was told to take zyrtec. Now I have a rash on my upper thighs. Is it the generic zyrtec? Would the regular Zyrtec do the same? Have you ever heard of Diamox being prescribed for Meneire's disease? I find nothing in the literature about it and am hesitant to take it as it makes me very tired. I need to sleep about 3 hours a day when I take it. I don't want to experience vertigo again.
460830 tn?1347219306 ), but I never have had any problem with taking a normal dose of Zyrtec...if I go ahead and take a Zyrtec, and it turns out that I did already take one, would it do any harm?
Avatar f tn Just wanted to let you know that you are NOT alone. I tried taking him off Zyrtec and that just made him miserable with his allergies. If you have any new news, please let me know!
11928313 tn?1437358907 My doctor said zyrtec and claritin is safe but if worried call your doctor or a pharmacist they can tell you what is safe
3539331 tn?1347554407 While my experience with food allergies in dogs is related to skin itch, the reaction can also surface in other ways I believe. Now if your dog just has allergies during spring it could be seasonal, not food..
Avatar f tn i have googled zyrtec itch tonight and found sites full of people with the same problem (whos doctors dont believe them). supposedly the itch goes away in around two weeks. this may not be documented by healthcare professionals but there seem to be lots of people with the same problem. too many to write off as dry skin or masked allergies. this is the number 1 allergy medication and they probably dont want people to know discontinuing it can cause itching.
Avatar n tn Hi, welcome to the forums, Zyrtec is not usually associated with sleep disturbances. It may cause CNS depression, which may impair physical or mental abilities. your symptoms are suggestive of insomnia. It is seen in less than 2 % of adults who are on such medication. It is important to categorize the type of insomnia, which can be done after noting detailed history.
Avatar n tn ashamed of myself and my habit..associating with people i would never be asssociating with to get pills..it was a downhill spiral...but i got off the merry go round and started living again How do u want to do this? quitting I mean? u can try a taper..many addicts have a hard time with tapering..i did..i finally flushed and went CT...or u could CT...have u thought about picking a QUIT day? Being prepared is important..i wasnt..i had no idea about the fatigue and mental part that followed...
Avatar m tn Both Allegra and Zyrtec are 24 hour medications in my area. I have known several people who took 3 Zyrtec in one day, and my allergist says that you can't really OD on antihistimines. You should be sure to drink PLENTY of water and watch for signs of constipation and dehydration. You should make sure that your dr is well aware of how much of these meds you are taking to make sure that they are ok with any other medications you maybe taking.
Avatar n tn I was also advised to take Zyrtec and wondered if Zyrtec had any more benefit for skin reactions thank Claritin. Claritin didn't help at all. Two dermatologists suggested Zyrtec over Claritin . I hesitate to try the Zyrtec as I took it once a few years ago and promptly feel into a deep sleep. If it is better for the skin than Claritin can it be taken at night and do any good? Your help is greatly appreciated. This discussion is related to <a href='http://www.medhelp.
Avatar f tn My 12 year old daughter was just diagnosed today with this. I read the other posts relating thyroid problems with autoimmune urticaria. Since I have hypothyroidism, I'm guessing that she should be tested for this at her regular doctor's office? Right now all I can afford is the double dose of Zyrtec, but with everything else she's allergic to (7 types of trees, 3 molds, ragweed, cat, feathers, dust mites & roaches of course) the allergy shots would be better for her, right?
Avatar f tn For ladies with Allergies what are you taking or doing. Claritin just doesn't seem to be doing the job. I am a stuffy, sneezey mess with watery eyes half the time. And I need to function so Benadryl is not an option unless I am able to sleep all day.
503607 tn?1275671579 Definitely! Aerius (desloratadin) works excellent for me. Zyrtec is, in my opinion, crap and causes a lot of tachycardias. I also get annoying tremors when I suddely awake the moment I fall asleep (also caused by Zyrtec).
Avatar f tn Has anyone experienced severe itching problems when they stop taking Zyrtec?
Avatar f tn I've never had allergies of any kind. Then I noticed my nose was runny sometimes. Sneezing some. Nothing alarming. Then I woke up and was having trouble swallowing - felt like something was stuck in my throat. Doc said there was tons of drainage - the diagnosis: allergies. I started zyrtec and flonase, and got a HEPA air purifier. I've had that for about 2 weeks. Annnd now I've developed ear infections in BOTH ears due to the allergies, even taking all that and with the filter.
