Avatar n tn i have been struggling with allergies for about ten years. its gotten alot worse over the last three..have been tested i am severely allergic to all tree pollens grass and ragweed pollen mold and dogs..i have tried everything ( including the drops under your tongue) nothing reaaly helps i am tired of feeling like this all time..
Avatar f tn I was told to take zyrtec. Now I have a rash on my upper thighs. Is it the generic zyrtec? Would the regular Zyrtec do the same? Have you ever heard of Diamox being prescribed for Meneire's disease? I find nothing in the literature about it and am hesitant to take it as it makes me very tired. I need to sleep about 3 hours a day when I take it. I don't want to experience vertigo again.
Avatar n tn I've had a tickling sensation in my throat for over 4 weeks now, since May 4th. I usually do not cough as to not make it worse. It is always a dry cough. No sounds in my chest. Some days are better than others. Right when my eyes open in the morning, I feel completely fine. Shortly after, I gradually start to feel the tickle come back. I do have seasonal allergies, however pollen has been in the "low" for the past 3 days and today I feel the tickle as bad as day 1.
Avatar n tn Allergies maybe. Take some Zyrtec or Benydryll, or Nyquil before you go to bed. If it is allergies, it will get better within two days.
Avatar f tn have your dr test you for black mold disease, i know of someone who had it for about a year. had a chronic cough hardly any other symptoms. he was tested for nearly everything you can possible imagine and just recently was tested for black mold and he tested posative. hes been on meds now for about 3 months and his caugh has gone away.
Avatar n tn Has he actually been tested for food allergies, so you know what to stay away from? Do you have him on any kind of antihistamine? Since his episodes come and go he should also be tested for weed, tree, and grass pollens. It wouldn't hurt to have him see a dermatologist to rule out any other underlying skin problem.
Avatar m tn Have you tried claritin? I started using that to combat my allergies with perfume, but found that zyrtec worked better. I'm not sure about other allergy meds though, have you tried nasal sprays? Benadryl knocks me out in seconds so I understand not wanting to take it all the time- have you tried using the tablets and cutting them in half? I found a 1/4 of the adult dosage works well enough on reactions my Zyrtec isn't good enough for without causing excessive drowsiness.
Avatar f tn Zyrtec and benadryl. Zyrtec doesn't work for me, and benadryl makes me so tired. So my Dr gave me flonase and said to take the benadryl at night.
Avatar f tn For ladies with Allergies what are you taking or doing. Claritin just doesn't seem to be doing the job. I am a stuffy, sneezey mess with watery eyes half the time. And I need to function so Benadryl is not an option unless I am able to sleep all day.
Avatar m tn Best of luck - I know how it is with cat allergies - mine are HORRIBLE! I can only manage to be in a house that has a cat for about 5-10 minutes before I start itching and having an asthma attack - even if I'm not anywhere near the cat itself!
850029 tn?1238857820 I struggle with a variety of allergies. I've been to an allergist and he's been treating it with antihistamines (Zyrtec) and a nasal spray. I do nasal rinses and have try to eliminate as many allergens as possible. I have no fragrance in my house, clean often etc........ I live in Minnesota and we have yet to get to the "spring time" allergies. Luckily I'm not allergic to mold so the wet ground after the snow melting doesn't bother me.
Avatar f tn What do you all do for allergies my nose is stuffy then runny and really itchy..So are my eyes!!!
Avatar f tn Nothing works for me, but Benadryl. My doctor said Claritan and Zyrtec are safe, they just don't work for me. I started taking either half of a regular Benadryl during the day (so I won't get sleepy, haha) or children's Benadryl (it's about the same as half of a regular one). That seems to make my allergies tolerable throughout the day.
1055603 tn?1254235958 I didn't develop allergies until I hit my 20's. Now that I am in my 20's I have a lot of allergies. I take Zyrtec every day now just so I can take a shower without breaking out in hives. And that's even after filtering the water. It's entirely possible that you are getting allergies now that you never had before. Don't scratch your hives and put Caladryl with Cortizone over it on it. It's the best home remedy I found.
Avatar f tn I can (a) get a mold specialist out to test the apartment for the presence of mold. It is 60e for a test alone, so Im guessing it will be much more expensive to then follow up with solution. The other option (b) is to visit a doctor and try see if he can properly diagnose my problems.
Avatar f tn I don't know anything about GERD/acid reflux and it might be that, but I just wanted to add: I have Hashimoto's, and I have year long seasonal allergies, which I take zyrtec for. I no longer have a thyroid and would imagine my antithyroid antibodies are basement low now, but I still have seasonal allergies which produce a lot of mucus and can "breakthrough" my allergy medication.
1232362 tn?1333135406 I figure if people can build up resistance to antihistamines that it would be reasonable to assume that the same thing can happen to the cat. I generally give her the Zyrtec when the allergies are bothering her the most so that I don't give her too much.
Avatar f tn The reason I know is because my doc gave me a list . For allergies take either claritin or benadryl thosecare safe for you and your baby. I hope this helps :) if u need any more help on Meds that are safe to take just ask . By the way congrats on your pregnancy.
Avatar f tn I am a major allergy sufferer! Clarifying and Zyrtec are safe to take. However! Do not get the ones with the "D" added onto them (claritin d) because that is either not studied enough yet or not recommended. I take claritin as needed. "They" say it might be bad for allergies this spring with the late start. Exercise indoors. Take care and hopeb this is helpful. We are also allowed Benadryl but that you would need to call about. ...
11803947 tn?1430842645 I have really severe allergies and benadryl is not doing it for me. Today I woke up with a bloody nose. My eyes are so itchy and watery. My throat hurts a lot and etc ... I dont like taking anything while pregnant but I can't handle this anymore. Any natural remedies ?
689528 tn?1364135841 10mg every day for the first five days and then every other day for the next five, in addition he gets a generic Zyrtec everyday. Now he just gets a zyrtec every day, and if his allergies act up beyond the zyrtec's control, like this time of year ,he gets a prednisone per day for 3 or 4 days and then every other day for two or until things calm down. Zyrtec can be expensive, but we actually found a generic brand at the dollar store! $1. for 14 pills, so we clear their shelves!
Avatar n tn Where do I begin with my allergies... For the past 5 years or so, I've had seasonal allergies but maintained with zyrtec. During the last two years of college, I noticed that my skin was getting so dry and painful that I would have to lotion my ENTIRE body immediately after showering or else I couldn't move without being in pain. I was also sweating a lot more during that time (I'm assuming due to allergies). Because of the combination of the two, my anxiety was getting to me.
