I have seasonal allergies and was wondering the best OTC antihistamine would work better. Allegra, Zyrtec or loratadine. I was on 12.5 zoloft for 2 weeks and tapering up to 25 mg (split another 12.5 in half so 3/4 a pill then one whole 25 mg. I have to do this slowly as I am super sensitive to meds. Thanks for any help. Plus I eventually need to taper down my ativan when I level on the zoloft.
I had a massive cold around 7 weeks and dr told me to take Claritin. My cold turned to a cough and they told me I could take robitussin or robitussin dm. Cough turned to bronchitis and bronchospasms and was put on cough medicine with codine for bedtime and an inhaler every 4 to 6 hrs and robitussin dm every 4 hrs during the day. But you should definitely speak with your dr.
If you think it's allergies take zyrtec or robitussin both are ok for pregnant women.. of course unless OB tells you otherwise or you have any issues.
Coughing will not hurt the baby...but depending on how far along you are may make you wee a bit...The worst thing coughing could do is make your ab muscles sore.
Now, if you have a fever you should see your Dr because that could mean an infection (ie: sinus infection)
Just try to relax and increase your fluids.

I went today and was diagnosed with a sinus infection. My doctor told me to take either benedryl, zyrtec, Claritin, or robitussin. He also called me in a zpack. I'm not being miserable the rest of my pregnancy so I'm taking what is allowed.
recently, it has been obvious that she gets contact dermatitis when she comes in contact with my face and recently saliva. mostly on the arms, chest and face. this interaction ranges in severity. from redness and itching to hives.
there has not been any change in diet. laundry soap. place of work. etc.

I was taking plain mucinex for days without much help. And Tylenol. I finally called Ob and they said stay away from mucinex and take plain robitussin (which didn't make much sense to me..its the same active ingredientc(guaf).. But I followed orders) and sudafed(also plain - ewithout psuedo). Another week went by, only got worse. Finally got a z pack and cough syrup prescribed. Another week and I was better. 3 weeks sick altogether. Used humidifier at night and Vicks too. Good luck.

My midwife told me to take robitussin but never specified which one. If you get one for for cold or cough I think you'll be fine.

You may be able to use a once a day antihistamine like claritin or zyrtec which have fewer systemic side effects. Also guifenasin (robitussin or mucinex)which loosens the secrections in throat and chest can be helpful with colds without affecting dry eyes so much. Just some general comments - discuss situation with your doctor to see of claritin and mucinex might be something that you could possibly take without affecting dry eyes too much.
I do know if ur actually getting sick sudafed and normal robitussin and mucinex are safe to take while pregnant. But its still good to talk to ur doc and get their opinion on what to take. I know the first time I got sick durring my pregnancy I went to.the clinic and they told me it was just broncittis but when I told my OB she also did a quick exam and realized I had a sinus infection as well and was feeling much better after she suggested two more things to take with my antibiotic.
