zyprexa

874521 tn?1424116797 Now i am under stablon a French AD non-existent in Canada i am afraid but fantastic for anxiety and mild. There is the welbutrin they say doesn't bring mania. But your pdoc has to find something for his anxiety. You remember gabapentin (neurontin) an MS weak but excellent for anxiety. I remember your 1st letter seeking an anxiolytic but not benzo because addictive.
520191 tn?1355635402 Simple question can you take two anti-pyschotic medications at once? And if you can is it better than an a anti-depressant for a mixed mood? - this is because i am on seroquel for anxiety and sleep and i don't want to come off it but i have the choice of going on venlfaxine or zyprexa so if i chose zyprexa would i have to come off the seroquel. I am being treated for bipolar at the moment mixed state.
919239 tn?1269394658 I was hoping that this medication may be helpful for depression alone. Anyone who takes Seroquel that can give me some insight will be much appreciated.
Avatar m tn What do you recommend I do to ask my doctor to increase dosages on neurontin and effexor xr for anxiety? Do you recommend to take Seroquel XR and other recommend medications to me sleep at night and to help ith severe anxiety attacks? I need something to knock me out.
874521 tn?1424116797 From what I remember Depakoate and Zyprexa both were extremely sedating for me and Depakoate in general works better on mania than depression. But its better to wait to speak to his psychiatrist before making any changes. Abilify is an antipsychotic that is the least sedating and Lamictal is less sedating than Depakoate and works better on depression. You could ask his psychiatrist about that.
Avatar m tn I cannot remain on anything that makes me as tired as zyprexa or seroquel anymore, it’s not helping with the major depression.
Avatar m tn Then, about 2 ½ years ago I had a near-psychotic meltdown, mostly about the devil and evil spirits, and was diagnosed with OCD and prescribed Anafranil and Zyprexa, which helped with the irrational thinking and obsessive thoughts a little. Between now and then, I have been diagnosed with OCD, Social anxiety disorder, GAD, major depressive disorder, ADHD, and most recently, aspergers/high functioning autism.

874521 tn?1424116797 m bipolar with anxiety and i take cymbalta for depression, anxiety, and pain. i also take abilify for mania and xanax occasionally for panic attacks. the cymbalta is supposed to help with anxiety, i've only been on it a week plus a little so i couldn't tell you if it does but it's supposed to. buspar someone mentioned may work too. your son is on a lot of meds, he needs prescribed less but of the right meds.
698408 tn?1256958348 Seroquel is only approved for use here for 6 months and then it is no longer subsidised by the government which means the price doubles. So its thought of as a short term fix for BP. It is, however, approved for use in schizophrenia. That means that after being on it for 6 months I will have to find what they call a maintenance drug i.e. one tat can be used ongoing. I must say I agree with you re the Seroquel as I can take as much or as little as I need.
Avatar f tn I did take Depakoate (Epilim is another name for it) for a while and although it worked on mania it did not work on depression but that's common and probably why you were prescribed venlafaxine (another name for Effexor) which is an anti-depressent. As for paranoia, Seroquel is a very effective antipsychotic (for many people although each person reacts differently to each medication) with mood stabilization properties and while I could tolerate it I found it quite helpful.
628714 tn?1268238196 Does zyprexa or Zopiclone cause excessive yawying. I have been on both for a while and I have been yawning alot. I do have anxiety. Do these drugs cause excessive yawying?
Avatar f tn Anyhow, onto my question... In addition to depression, I struggle with anxiety and take 1 mg Ativan as needed, up to 3x/day. The Ativan helps with the anxiety but I've noticed if I have to take it for a few days in a row it really seems to affect my mood, in that I often feel even more depressed than I did before taking it.
574118 tn?1305135284 And mixed states, mania and depression at the same time, are the highest risk for suicide. Pure depression can leave people without the energy to actually go through with suicide, but adding in the manic energy can create the perfect storm. Wellbutrin on average is LESS likely to make people manic, but there are always exceptions. Abilify is mood stabilizing, and is not an AD (many people think it is due to marketing)--it's an atypical antipsychotic.
2080404 tn?1643113754 s the last medication i was taking until recently when my PCP put me on Trazodone for anxiety and insomnia. is there any meds that work to stabilize moods so they won't swing from one extreme to the other within a 24 hour period? i've also tried Lexapro, Paxil, Seroquel, and Zoloft. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated so i have an idea of what to talk about with my psychiatrist.
447130 tn?1225470866 Afetr being on 100mg of Seroquel at night for about a month now, my sleep is back to normal and the seroquel is making me feel better, keeping depression at bay. I've been through a rough 2 weeks with some personal things and I came through like a champ. I don't need Restoril or Ambien anymore and I have adjusted to Seroquel so my doc wants me on it for a bit longer. He explained sleep is crucial to bipolar disorder and ordered my on the Seroquel until otherwise notified.
574118 tn?1305135284 My information is that all are given to prevent mania and reduce dopamine responsible for psychosis. Yet seroquel especially is given for depression too this is why it works as a mood stabilizer. Some say all atypical are the same but seroquel seems to be different from readings and at least it works for me. My combo is 75 seroquel + 1 risperidone + 1 stelazin (typical AP). It's weird and crazy usually one AP is enough.
420308 tn?1203041262 I was diagnosed with depression and generalized anxiety disorder about 10 years ago. During those 10 years I was prescribed a number of different combinations of medications like Risperdal, Trazadone, Paxil, Trileptal, Klonopin, Geodon, to name a few. Some of those combinations had horrible side effects and never really relieved my anxiety or depression. Now I'm on 112.5mg of Effexor ER, 200mg of Lamictal, 60 mg of Buspar, 1200 mg of Neurontin, 600mg of Seroquel and .
Avatar n tn I take meclizine for the nausea, valium for the brain shocks, and now Seroquel for insomnia. Valium I can quit cold turkey(long half-life). Its seroquel that has me concerned because it antagonizes many parts of the brain that Remeron does creating a sedative effect possibly making it addictive. Am I robbing Peter To pay Paul???? Has anyone had experiences with Remeron(mirtazapine) or Seroquel (quetiapine). Particularly withdrawal Experiences.
1714202 tn?1352672419 True abilify is an AP but activating and can cause anxiety for some. On the contrary seroquel or zyprexa do not, but zyprexa is heavy.
Avatar f tn Because wellbutrin is the most stimulating antidepressant out there and is not recommended for those for whom anxiety is a problem. Doctors usually only combine an ssri with wellbutrin if you're having sexual dysfunction or weight gain if anxiety is a problem. Here's what probably happened: you had either a common reaction to antibiotics, or the antibiotics have killed off your beneficial organisms.
Avatar f tn For me along with an anti depressant, taking a low dose anti psychotic, seroquel or zyprexa gets me to sleep, I prefer Seroquel, because i can stay awake in the day) and i didnt need to stay on this for ever, but it got me through a rough patch and then i just needed an anti depressant.
1623698 tn?1299161234 ve been changed from Zyprexa to Seroquel because my depression came back. Within days I was extremely dizzy and nauseous and I concluded that it was withdrawal from Zyprexa so the Psychiatrist said to go back on it. Two months later, when I was feeling better, we tried it again but the same thing happened. By this time I was being told that I had an inner ear problem or it was caused by the new med. I was then given Saphris and continued to be dizzy and nauseous.
Avatar f tn I was taking 50mg at bedtime and occasionally another 25 mg during the day for anxiety. I was given this medication to try to boost the effect of my antidepressants. I had seen the effects of Zyprexa (olazapine) on other people. They had gained huge amounts of weight in a very short period of time. I specifically asked my doctor if Seroquel would cause weight gain and he said no. I was always thin. Never had problems with my weight. I started at 125 lbs, 5’7”.
