zyprexa tired

Even after getting back on the zyprexa after stopping it cold turkey, i dont feel tired at all! Could something have happened to me during the 4 day lapse that caused some kind of imbalance in my brain that stopped me from feeling tired alltogether? As when i got back on the zyprexa it didn't help things but i was sleeping but still no feeling of getting tired whatsoever. I'm thinking of seeing a sleep specialist and going back to see my psychiatrist this week.

How long after stopping zyprexa will I experience withdrawal symptoms.

I did not sleep for 3 days, then I slept like for three days. I do not feel tired anymore, I do not get that sleepy tired feeling. I have tried many meds to help me to sleep (trazodone, klonopin, Geodon..) nothing help. Now I am sleeping 2-3 hours a night with the help of gabapentin, but I do not feel tired, I DO NOT GET SLEEPY. Please help, I have been in this situation for almost a year. Can the damage done by the drug be permanent? Should I see a neurologist?

I’m prescribed Effexor 225 er. Zyprexa (15) makes me too tired though, amitryptiline 150 for sleep mirtazipine 15for sleep. Gabapentin400 mg 4 times a day for anxiety. I have trouble getting out of bed when my daughter isn’t here with me. That’s the only good thing about me is I’m a great father with 50/50 custody. I also am a former addict . For some reason when my doctor asks me if I’m depressed and I tell her no, I’m just now realizing that this whole time I have been depressed.

Is the insomnia caused by Zyprexa withdraw reversible? Please help, I am truly desperate, I have read numerous reports of people going through the same hell after quitting Zyprexa. I am never tired, never sleepy, never hungry. I am sleeping just 2-3 hours a day after taking gabapentin. My brain is like with a switch that go on-off. I have been in this situation for more than a year. I do not see any improvement. I keep a good sleep hygiene. I am not anxious or stressed.

I started 5 Mgs of zyprexa about 5 days ago for psychosis, mostly "ideas of reference" the zyprexa is now added to my seroquel since I weaned off invega. So far, I am having less ideas of reference but not totally gone. Didn't expect a miracle in taking it less than a week. Can anyone please let me know their experience with zyprexa. How long it took to work and how it helped you. I would appreciate any advice and information on it.

i pray constantly to my God Jesus Christ, and for a while things seemed to be getting better. im so tired too. tired of all the hurt i have been through and what other good people endure. i know the devil hates me. and im ok with it. i know i wasn't ment to get sick by those that love me. i gave up fighting once and that is why had to get on my thyroid med. i belive. i hope and pray you are doing well. india is one of my favorite countries.

I am so sorry that a Dr. would prescribe this class of drug for insomnia. Were you diagnosed as psychotic, bipolar, or something else? This class of drugs are called antipsychotics. When we need quality sleep, there are plenty of sleep aids available that are quite effective - Ambien, Sonata, etc., to name a few. Who is rx'ing this drug to you? If you want to get off of this, I suggest you find another physician, hopefully a well qualified psychiatrist, who will help you in the withdrawal.

I know for a fact that the zyprexa causes drowsiness. I have been on 10mg for over a year and it makes me sleep well through the night and into the morning. I'm not sure about the other drug, but the one thing I am sure of is don't let him just get off the zyprexa "cold turkey"!!! Read on here under zyprexa withdrawls about what most of us feel when we are coming off of this drug. You will be surprised on what it does to someone's well being....

I have been on 10mg's of zyprexa and it seems to me that this drug is still very strong in the morning and I am very anxious. Later on in the day I feel better. Is this a side effect?

thanks so much. i have never been on anythng like zyprexa, i took it last night. it di dnot knock me out at all. but it made me sleepy. i woke up with less anxiety. i guess it takes a while to get into your system. i went on a site aabout zyprexa. a lot of people had awful side affects. like gaining weight. well, i i only low cal food. lots of veggies and fruit. doctor told me i will not gain weight if i watch wht i eat. plus i go the gym every chance i get.

My leggs are still messing up, my right one in particular. Im getting sooooooo tired of battling this. And yes, my crazy mind is really talking to me strong now, it is trying to convince me to go find just one pill, and try it, just to take the edge off. The thoughts are so strong, its craaaaazy! Im not going to act on it, but is sure is bothersome. I be soooooo glad when it stops talking to me so strongly tho. As far as my mood, its not stable yet.

I started taking Zyprexa about 2 weeks ago and since then I have askasthia, which is the worst possible effect I have ever had. I can't sit still, I pace a lot, I am so tired and my eyes want to shut but the rest of my body cannot sit still. I have confronted the pshychiatrist 2 and both times he left me with it and first he gave me a drug that is supposed to help with askasthia, cogentin. Still didn't work.

Yes Zyprexa was extremely sedating for me. I slept 10 hours a day on it. Out of all the antipsychotics Abilify, Fanapt and Saphris are generally the least sedating but each person responds differently to each medication.

My psychiatrist has just added Zyprexa to take with Prozac as the Prozac is not working like it used to work.I'm worried about the weight gain with Zyprexa, is there something else that could be used with the Prozac instead? Also until now I've also been taking 1 mg. Ativan in the morning and 1 mg Ativan before bed. Is it safe to use Ativan with the Zyprexa?

Hi, I am experiencing burning feet,skin sensitivity and pains in my hands and feet during Zyprexa withdrawal,I`ve been on Zyprexa for 6 years and off it for about 5 months now.Please let me know if the burning feet and all other symptoms will go away with time? I have been on BP meds for several years. About a year ago I was diagnosed as diabetic. I've heard that the zyprexa and others like it can cause high blood sugar. Diabetes also runs on both sides of my family. Are there any mood stabilizers out there that don't cause Diabetes? I like the Zyprexa because it works really well for me. I guess I am just wondering if there is anyone else out there like me?

Knocks you out. But I have never had any bad side effects from it. Others I know on it said they felt tired all day. So best time to take it is at night. Get a good nights sleep.

They diagnosed me with temporal lobe epilepsy and bipolar and gave me Lamictil and Zyprexa. The Zyprexa gave me a sugar problem...one of the rare side-feffects. I started eating glucose enrgy bars like mad!...it got worse than alcoholism and even put me on a high. Before that I could never eat much sugar, then I get all sick. Then suddenly one morning I woke up with this terrible sweet taste in my mouth.

I'm bp, been on Zyprexa for 5 yrs off and on, gained weight of course, and know that it has tons of other side effects. But I know Depakote is not without side effects either -- like constipation, liver damager etc. What's worse? Plus, I know it causes weight gain also. What do you guys think? Thanks!

Now, I'm on zyprexa 5mg then increase to 10 mg. Zyprexa instead of Syroquil. Also, monitoring my WBCs to avoid it's down again. The goal is to prevent high mood first then manage and control low mood. My mood include high, low, and mixed moods. Thank you for your time, answer, and help.

I was wondering if anyone on this website is taking zyprexa for racing thoughts and irritability. I started taking it in December for these symptoms but I have put on weight taking this drug. I am not sure if it is the drug itself or if my appetite has increased. In anycase, I am really depressed about this and am thinking of switching medications or just getting off the zyprexa itself. I am also taking 20 mg. of lexapro and this has not caused a past weight gain. Please help!

I took Zyprexa 5mg for 3 nights only to help with sleep, but have not taken it for 2 nights. Had really difficulty getting to sleep and my sleep was really broken up. Is this normal for this med.

I've been dealing with bipolar disorder since 2012 and I've gone through 4 hospitalizations due to the manic/psychotic breaks. I've also suffered a few milder hypomanias during last 6 years but I feel exhausted ALL the time I'm not in a mania. I could sleep for hours and still feel extremely tired. It's gone as far as I am calling sick from time to time because I literally am not capable of getting out of bed.

I believe Symbyax is a combo of prozac and zyprexa. Zyprexa is a BIG WEIGHT gainer. Is Adipex a diet med, and did your mental health provider prescribe it/know you're taking it? Diet meds can be like "uppers" and really throw your mood off, maybe into a manic state. Your psychiatrist should know EVERYTHING you take, incl. diet meds, herbs, "natural" meds, etc. In order to keep your mood stable, you must follow your doctor's advice.
