m suppose to be taking zyprexa and I scared to because I have Xanax in my system and have never tried zyprexa.

I have been on Zyprexa for over 8 months started weaning off a few months ago and stopped it a week ago ever since then the treamors i was having have gotten worse and my stomach has been upset ive lost 7 pounds in a week and my sleep has been really bad my doctor told me to take rozerem helps a little and been a little more anxious then i was on it. I'm also taking 40 mgs of Paxil and .5 mgs of klonopin have been for a few yrs.

However, after using this combo for a month, my panic attacks have worsened, and I actually have to use Clonazepam SOS for severe attacks. My psychiatrist has now asked me to start on Zyprexa 2.5mg and Sertraline 50mg. My questions are: 1. Although I do not have schizophrenia, why am I constantly being prescribed antipsychotics as off-label anxiolytics? 2. Is it true that zyprexa and risperidone can induce schizophrenia if a non-schizophrenic person uses them? 3.

thanks so much. i have never been on anythng like zyprexa, i took it last night. it di dnot knock me out at all. but it made me sleepy. i woke up with less anxiety. i guess it takes a while to get into your system. i went on a site aabout zyprexa. a lot of people had awful side affects. like gaining weight. well, i i only low cal food. lots of veggies and fruit. doctor told me i will not gain weight if i watch wht i eat. plus i go the gym every chance i get.

Well I can say for myself that I'd be concerned taking more than one anti-psychotic at a time. That's how I developed severe tardive dyskinesia to begin with which the rate of developing it as my psychopharmocologist stated "with typicals 5% per person per year and atypical antipsychotics 2.5% per person per year". Every antipsychotic you are one are atypical antipsychotics but I would see no reason you should be on more than one.

I am not anxious, paranoid or depressed now but I cannot sleep without taking gabapentin (I am never tired or sleepy, there are other people describing a situation similar to mine after stop taking Zyprexa). I am worry, because the same way Zyprexa can make people have diabetes, it can permanently disrupt other psychological process in the brain an produce this chronic insomnia. I am incline to think that the damage is at the hypothalamus, I am never hungry or thirsty.

Im taking Suboxone which Ive been on but I havr bi-polar n there changing my meds around so is it really bad if My doc put me on Prestiq Suboxone n I start Zyprexa Fri. I do take some Klonopin (non rx) n want to start phentermeane to loose weight. AM i GONNA DYE iM SCARED N KKNOW THAT AL LOT OF MEDS BUT WHATS TOO MUCH? N will I feel very different on the Zyprexa? My brother takes it w/his Zoloft, Klonopin, Zyprexa and Remron. He swears this is his feel good pill, takes it at 4pm and feels great! Not sure if it is because of the combo or the remron alone?

Well this is day 9 going into day 10 shortly here, but It seems like the sweats, are co idmeing back for some strange reason. They were gone. I currently take 30 mg. of zyprexa,. 1500 mg. depakote, 2 mg. benztropine, 50 mg. of risperdone, and 50 mg. testim . I have gained 70 pounds of fat. When I'm not in a mania I sleep from the zyprexa for 12 hours a night. My anxiety is so high and from all of the side affects, just to name a few I have had diarrhea for the last three years, retrograde ejaculation, weight gain, restless legs syndrome.

My son is experiencing 7.5 mg zyprexa withdrawel I believe. He has been in bed on and off for 4 days with headache and very sick to stomach. How long with this go on????? What can help the stomach???? He has only been on this med for 3 months. I would hate to see what someone on this for years would go through!

I take ten mg of Lexapro and 1 mg of Klonopin every night. I am sometimes still tired throughtout the day, but fighting the fatigue is worth it for me. I am older and married so taking my meds by ten or so and going to bed by 11:00 isn't really a problem. I have tried Wellbutrin with this mix because the Klonopin wasn't working as well. I have been taking Klonopin for 3 or 4 years. I couldn't form a sentence in my mind after two weeks on Wellbutrin.

I have had a hard time finding the right medication for me as well for the last 7 years due to my sensitivity to side effects. Finally I was tried on 225 mg of effexor and my symptoms disappeared. I have also had luck with zyprexa , loxipine, paxil and cymbalta. Geodon was truly the best though but the side effects of heart related symptoms were just too intense for me physically.

Last night was the first time I slept through the night without any problems. One night, because I took a Klonopin before I went to sleep, I didn't have an attack, but my shirt was covered in sweat. I'm just wondering if all these side effects are worth it. If I know that things will be better I'm willing to endure. Should I keep at it for a couple weeks and see?

I was zyprexa for 13 years. Doc try gradual lower it but was so fear of the withdrawal that they put me on various other meds at the same time. Is that the cause of unsuccess? The problem is I am suffering and would like to try repeat the same treatment of lowing the dosage. I would like to know is it that the longer I am on the harder to wean it off? Please help!!! Hope can I control myself from bad withdrawal so that doc will not be afraid to lower it?

A few years back when I had chronic insomnia and got very anxious and depressed due to the sleep loss, a psychiatrist prescribed me Remeron and Zyprexa. Zyprexa to get the sleep going until Remeron kicks in. I fortunately saw my doctor who got very angry with the psychiatrist for giving me Zyprexa as I was not psychotic and secondly there are very bad side effects from it.

I agree; make sure you taper off of the Klonopin, and if you need it, get back on it. Anti-depressants, in my experience, do work for panic and anxeity, but for me (I am on Zoloft), it actually increases my anxeity for the first month or so then seems to work. When I had panic last time I was also on Zoloft and on Klonopin. I was able to stop taking the Klonopin, but I came off of it over a period of a couple of months from a low dose to start with.

reason i say that is because she is also an addict and finally convinced her dr to give her xanax...which turned into klonopin, which she has taken before at a much higher dose than she is on now. my question is...she is only taking .5 mg, twice a day, but she is basically tore up from the floor up. her speech is slurred and her movements are very robotic and slow. there is a child involved here...almost 3...and i'm worried sick about her safety.

So you're saying you got klonopin without the knowledge of your primary doctor. You're self-medicating on your own and thats never a good idea. I also cannot believe your primary doctor would put you on 40 mg of ambien since thats a huge dose well beyond the maximum recommended. My gut says you're abusing Rx's and that is dangerous. You need to get back on track with your primary doctor and work on a plan together...NOW!

Well, the heavy-duty attack is Seroquel or Zyprexa, 7 days max, but if you can get Klonopin or Valium for 10 days, that's the ticket, unless you have a big tolerance to benzos ... The sleep thing is probably the worst w/d thing -- melatonin is beneficial (go to 6-9mg as necessary -- it's OTC) ... depends on whether you've abused benzos in the past. If not, they can really help, but hold it to 10 days max. Have you tried hypnotizing your cat with a Filet 'O Fish on 20-lb.
