Common Questions and Answers about Zyprexa heart attack

zyprexa

Avatar f tn you might find yourself involuntarily committed for a friggin panic attack. ER's aren't equipped to deal with panic attacks (heart attacks, gun shots yes...panic attacks nope) and they'll ship you off to psych....just a heads up.
616450 tn?1228437227 I've been taking Zyprexa at bedtime for the past few nights, per Endo #3, and I feel a lot better, folks. As a matter of fact, I felt better almost immediately after taking the first dose. It seems to act quick, like Xanax, but stays in the bloodstream longer or something. Dr. Pretorius was concerned that I was getting a little too used to Xanax, so he wants me to try to gradually come off of that and he'll increase the Zyprexa dosage.
Avatar m tn I have wanted my son off zyprexa for awhile. Everytime he comes off an amount by the 3rd day he gets sucidal. how do I wean him off safely? How do you wean off this medication slowly and safely. It has never helped his depression, he has started lithium and seems okay, he was extremely senitivie to all medications, like zoloft prozac, all very bad.
Avatar f tn That I was having anxiety attack or something. They checked my heart everything came back fine except one of my valves regurds blood. anyway, ever since then, I feel like my heart gets strained if I do too much, If I run, cartwheel, do ab exercises, workout racing my heart.
633284 tn?1271718018 I get heart arrythmias daily some small some big. I have had 4-5 ECGs and and ultra sound of my heart and a holter monitor for a month and also 2 x-rays...everything came back nornal as well as all blood work. I started suffering from panic attacks b/c of my heart in the first place....I felt the need to pass out I never do but it feels like it. I breath slowly and I either lay back with my legs up or put my head between my legs and usually I am okay.
Avatar m tn ive never done that before, any health risks of skipping a dose of zyprexa for 36-48 hours?
Avatar f tn They also suggested putting me on Zyprexa short term. I don't know what to do about the Alprax because the anxiety is stopping me from functioning in everyday life.
Avatar n tn My symptons were racing anxious thoughts such as; ( I am going to die, I am going to have a heart attack, and OCD thoughts that are repulsive in nature). I also suffer from a wide variety of physical symptoms such as chest pain, a feeling of pressure in the head, tremendous headaches, exagerrated reflexes, and muscle twitching. MY major concern is with the med Zyprexa because it is used to treat illnesses such as schizophrenia.
Avatar n tn Once again back to adding the .25mg Zyprexa but now with 50mg Topamax to control appetite and weight gain. Panic attack symptoms relieved once again but still have weight gain/hunger and lethargy.
Avatar m tn Usually my attacks consist of fast breathing and my muscles tighten and then it sends me into the attack but i can usually calm myself within a few minutes. Lately it has been feeling like my heart is going to pound out of my chest, not fast, but just really hard. I live in a place that it gets over 100° so the ac is always on and any cold sends me into an attack.
616450 tn?1228437227 I'm finding that I can tolerate Zyprexa but that the MAO inhibitors and the serotonin reuptake inhibitors make me go "manic" after a few days. They also seem to cause my heart to speed up.
Avatar m tn 5 was just wondering.......because I feel so mentally down, some depression, crazy thoughts, mind racing over things that worry me. I cant seem to control my thoughts from going there. I feel sad alot. At this point I just dont know. Well anyhow about 2-3 wks ago,in the midst of withdrawal, I did go see my doc, I did not tell him I was in withdrawal this time, I did tell him once last year, that was when I got clean for just about a year.
Avatar m tn I was on Geodon and I was buzzed out of my skull, I had heart palpatations and thought I was going to have a heart attack. I actually made myself throw up to get whatever was left in my stomach out. I cant take something that is activating, or so activating so my Dr put me on Abilify 20mg per day and Seroquel 600mg per day, and the only side effect I have had is some fatique but a substantial amount of weight gain.
Avatar f tn Also had the palpitations and fluttering like my heart was skipping and sometimes slowed almost to a stop. When having a panic attack it would race for the most part. I went to the ER and i told them about a gurgling/swishing feeling and they looked at me like i was nuts, ran tests, and everything came back normal. All i know is i had started taking lower mgs of my zyrexa over time till i was hardly on any and i havent had it happen since.
Avatar f tn I read in the parkinson syptoms about how thay beleiave low dopamine to be responciable for why people with parkinson have trouble walking and I was on zyprexa which one of the more serious effect can be on you brains abilty to produce dopamine or something and the leg problem started with zyprexa but was getting better over time till now since coming off zyprexa.
800453 tn?1297894165 Hi everyone. Well over a month ago i suffered my first panic attack (very scary) however since than i have not been right. Been to my doctor and he believes i am suffering from anxiety. Everyday i suffer from some sort of symptom, mainly it is feeling sick, dizzy, faint, eye sight feels strange (hard to explian) and feel as though i am going to die!!!
616450 tn?1228437227 Further up the road, about twenty minutes later, this monster attack...that felt like a heart attack or REALLY bad anxiety, came on all of a sudden. My question is: Can eating a lot of salt (iodine) shortly after RAI (this experience was twelve days after the treatment) cause such an attack? It was really horrible, folks. I just KNEW I was dying. It makes sense.
1580318 tn?1550258081 Beyond this, more than a dozen studies have shown that taking statins for primary prevention does little, if anything, to prevent heart attack or stroke, which means the drug class is medically useless for the millions of otherwise healthy people who are prescribed it. 3) Antibiotics. The leading cause of antibiotic-resistant “superbugs,” antibiotics are another class of drugs that can cause long-term health problems without providing much, if any, benefit.
Avatar f tn I suffer from Anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, and I been having lots of trouble with high heart(tachicardia) with no aparent serious heart problem. I been having issues with not sweating much till recently when I started drinking sports drink with patassium and sodium, today my heart rate was more normal 109 instead of 145 in the heat sitting this time I was dripping with sweat.
Avatar n tn I had my first panic attack and went to the hospital thinking I was having a heart attck but everything was normal and they told me I was having an anxiety attack. The ER doc gave me the xanax and I had no idea what it was or I never would have taken it. A week later I went to an internal medicine doctor and she told me to stop taking the xanax and start taking the Paxil. So I did. Little did I know that I would feel like I was going crazy.
Avatar n tn l, but YES they are so very frightening.. they can make you feel like you are having a heart attack and going to die .... BUT YOU WONT!!! the worst the will do to you is you could faint... and you will come to! face them head on let them know you will not give it control! TRY something similar to what chery says... I place a rubberband on my wrist and continue to snap it until the attack fades.. it deverts the adrealene and stops the fear...
Avatar n tn Severe dizziness can be a sign of anxiety. Anxiety can cause an increased heart rate which can in turn cause dizziness. A lot of people with unexplained cardiac problems such as increased HR and dizziness get labeled with anxiety. The best thing to do is talk to your doctor about it to rule out other possibilities.

Avatar n tn I took it for three weeks without noticing any change. This was in 1/07. He increased it to 40 mg. Four days later, I had a massive panic attack while driving. Initially my heart was racing, couldn't breathe, my arms were shaking, and there were noises all around. Everything went white- I couldn't see. Somehow, I managed to get off the interstate and pull into a parking lot. It stopped after nearly twenty minutes.
Avatar m tn In all these episodes of i think i might pass out or die or have a heart attack or whatever...has it ever happened? The only way to control it...is to accept it and that it doesn't go away...just breath through the episodes. I have mild episodes sometimes, but since I know what they are...it just kind of goes away. It's been 7+ years since I've smoked, and I often wonder if I can "handle it now". Some people have a predisposition to anxiety and panic. I think weed just helps it along.

Avatar n tn I have tried maoi inhibiters, zyprexa, and a hundred different meds to stop this constant panic attack im in. Finally they put me on klonopin 1 mg. 3x daily, 20mg. of lexapro, and 50mg. of lamictal. Well that was great for some time but im now in the stage where im getting ready to start nursing school and the out of body feelings are still there off and on.
342793 tn?1196403864 I called my sister in law to come for me and take my to the hospital, called a cardiologist just to make sure this was not a heart attack. When I explained to the doctor what meds I was on and how I changed to Cymbalta… he was furious to know that I was not weaned of the meds correctly.
