Avatar f tn My 24 year old daughter has been on Zoloft for the last two years for generalized anxiety disorder and panic attacks but has battled this since she was a teenager (she actually started Zoloft when she was 18 and took herself off of it when she was 20) - and has taken up to 150 mg/day of the Zoloft - but because of intolerance to this level due to side effects - she was lowered back to 50 mg/day -the level she is able to tolerate - after the first year and managed on this level for almost a year
1353720 tn?1414506724 Hello everyone! I was on Zyprexa for about six months, and found that it helped treat a bunch of my symptoms. I'm happy that I don't have to deal with all the faces and the voices. However, I miss some of my friends. I have two recurring buddies" as I call them. Jack Nicholson happens to be one of them. He comes and goes, rarely ever speaks, and if he does it's only a few words. Usually just has amazing facial expressions.
739988 tn?1386676569 Hi everyone. I am on Cymbalta and Zyprexa for my bipolar. I also have Generalized Anxiety Disorder. I take Ativan as needed and Xanax as needed, my body is adjusting to them and they are not working as well. I was wondering, is there a med to take all the time for anxiety? I mean like I take a med for depression, a med for mania, is there one for anxiety? Thank you for your help.
480448 tn?1426952138 ONE important thing to remember that I learned, and have never forgotten is that these two effects CANNOT exist without anxiety.....but that anxiety can exist without these sensations. Derealization is basically a change, an alteration in the PERCEPTION or experience of the external world....in other words...everything LOOKS very strange, very "unreal" (movie like, in my experiences). Depersonalization is a subjective experience of unreality of one's self. So the difference is...
Avatar n tn I hope knowing that someone else with long standing generalized anxiety has the same symptom is of comfort to you. I hope you feel better soon!!
Avatar n tn Hello all, I have been diagnosed with Generalized anxiety disorder and bipolar disorder, but I have been struggling for months with appetite problems, rapid weight loss, decreased vision, muscle spasms and twitching, headaches, and just about every other symptom of hyperthyroidism, but when I went to the doctor last (a few months ago when it all began) they took a blood sample to check and said that my levels of whatever they check for were normal.
420308 tn?1203044862 I was diagnosed with depression and generalized anxiety disorder about 10 years ago. During those 10 years I was prescribed a number of different combinations of medications like Risperdal, Trazadone, Paxil, Trileptal, Klonopin, Geodon, to name a few. Some of those combinations had horrible side effects and never really relieved my anxiety or depression. Now I'm on 112.5mg of Effexor ER, 200mg of Lamictal, 60 mg of Buspar, 1200 mg of Neurontin, 600mg of Seroquel and .
Avatar f tn Well, I was previously diagnosed with depression and generalized anxiety disorder and panic attacks. My new doc says that I am bipolar. I dont' think I am. she said that the anxiety that I have been having is a part of the mania. I am no effexor and have previously been on prozac, paxil and lexapro. I thought you werent supossed to be on antidepressants if you are bipolar? Now Im on lamictal 200mg (mood stabilizer), 37.
Avatar m tn I don't know if I've mentioned this to you before, but I've been on almost every antidepressant and off label medication known to man (and woman). My main diagnosis is generalized anxiety disorder, with depression being secondary. Generally, my depression is low level, like yours (Dysthymia), but there have been times in my life when I've experienced a major depressive episode. Anyway, I HAVE tried Abilify with Effexor XR. I had to stop taking it because it gave me restless leg syndrome.
1108262 tn?1273182866 At first Trileptal worked, but the effect lessened over time as I built up tolerance and we (doc and I) kept tweaking it until I was on 1800 mg a day and it still wasn't really working. I also have generalized anxiety disorder, so she added Xanax into the mix. The Trileptal also began causing a lowering of my blood sodium levels (hyponatremia), a rare side effect for the medication, but I used salt pills to offset this and had to- guess what?- go for regular blood tests.
Avatar n tn I was wondering if this is normal, and if it is more likely contributed to my generalized anxiety disorder and me psyching out about changing my meds or if 0.25mg can make this big a change in my physiological makeup. I don't want to be on meds forever, but I need them, I need them, but I hear terrible things about Klonopin. Please let me know regarding this. Thanks ahead of time. Also, my wife and I wish to start trying on a child this fall.
Avatar m tn Thanks for your response Skydnsr. My "flavor" of AD/HD has been ADD or no hyperactivity and only tired. Hmm... My money is now on paroxetin, therefore I/we change that and I do no not want to change to medications at the same time. I am not shure about tapering down amphetamine. The doctor that I used to trust basically said that one can quit cold turkey.
Avatar f tn I also suffer from anxiety and GAD (generalized Anxiety Disorder). Unlike you and Jennykins, I have not taken any medications for my condition. Feelings caused by anxiety can be very strong. I get terrible tension headaches due to so much worrying and stressing. I get strange tingles in my back, face (around the temples and chin), and I twitch a lot (like my eye or lip twitches at least 5 times a day). Us worriers have very strong nervous systems.
1221258 tn?1267546029 Valium has a 12 - 15 hour half life while Klonopin has a 30 - 50 hour half life. It is the longest lasting benzo.
Avatar f tn i dont have any other problems other then it causing me tons of anxiety. (ive had panic attacks/generalized anxiety my whole life.) ive listened to my heart with a stethescope and it sounds like gurgling almost like stomach sounds when its occuring, i dont hear any difference in my actual beat. i do have a very minor murmur but nothing to worry about i was told. im just glad to hear other people have this too. ive been consumed with worry over it.
1323357 tn?1274826939 When manifesting as part of another disorder such as anxiety, depression etc, the symptom may never occur again after the person recovers from the primary disorder. People that have experienced DP as a result of a bad drug trip or experience have NOT caused long term damage the mechanism is exactly the same, your brain is protecting itself, hiding away to get the rest it needs whether this be from the fear a bad experience causes or from the long term drain the drug use has on your body.
Avatar f tn Reading all this info about an immune response and Micrscopic colitis has me worried. I was dignosed with generalized anxiety disorder, the lexapro is helping with the anxiety, but at what cost? I think the side effect out weighs the benefit! I do not want to be a slave to the bathroom the rest of my life, I think I will tapper down and stop all together. Any thoughts?
Avatar n tn I get that in some shape or form. When I try to go to sleep, I kind of feel like like just about as I am going to drift to sleep, I feel really panicky, almost as if I was floating out of my own body. Like I was leaving myself, and so I would wake up gasping for air. And recently... I have been having a new feeling. While I am sleeping... It's almost as if I can see myself sleeping, and I know that I am, and I can feel what it feels like quivers in my heart, or several pvc's in a row...
Avatar n tn I see lots of threads on here with the same topic, but they all have to do with taking medications, being overweight, being a current/past smoker, being depressed/having anxiety, etc. Please help - I'm tired of living like this. I'm worried that I could be living with something undiagnosed that could rear it's ugly head one day.
Avatar n tn My question is, are there are any medications available to help treat severe depression, social anxiety disorder, and PMDD that DO NOT have these side effects? I don't want to get to the point of gaining 40+ pounds before I do anything about this because I'm one of those people that will get a lot more depressed/out of control if I feel fat and horrible.
Avatar n tn It all started 6 months ago with depression, crying and anxiety attacks. I lost 12 pounds, lots of hair and had a racing pulse and ravenous hunger. In the past 2 months I have hardly slept due to strange sensations in my arms and feel like I'm going crazy. I was put in a psychiatric hospital for 10 days and placed on antipsychotics and tranquillisers, which I'm still on. I have had thryroid tests and all labs are in range, except that I have elevated TPO antibodies.
