After two weeks of taking Zyprexa, she came out of the psychosis, and has had no psychotic symptoms since. Her thyroid level is now normal, and due to weight gain, and the desire of not wanting to take medication that potentially is not needed, we have decided to stop taking Zyprexa. After taking 20mg for almost one year, we have decreased to 10 mg. She has been on 10 mg now for about one month, with no signs of withdraw, or other psychotic feelings.

I have read of a lot of people being on anti-depressants and thyroid meds and not having problems. They work on two different areas of the body.

Try 6 small meals a day with a protien and carb in small portions. I take ayprexa and I have lost 46 pounds and I am not diabetic I love my zyprexa and I am not going to give it up. I did gain weight at first on it but I have since lost the weight. It is possible to keep the weight off on zyprexa.

as they have taken me off of my zyprexa and valum as they wernt working, and have refered me to see a syciotrest, as i'm having Aggressive Behavior, Appetite Changes, Chronic Pain, Depression, Difficulty Concentrating, Mood Swings, Poor Judgment, and wanting to sleep 24/7 and if i had my way wouldnt get outta bed or even wake up but in the last 3 days i'm that agressive and have so much anger built up i just want to go for a walk down the street and bash some one to release some of i

I've been taking Zyprexa at bedtime for the past few nights, per Endo #3, and I feel a lot better, folks. As a matter of fact, I felt better almost immediately after taking the first dose. It seems to act quick, like Xanax, but stays in the bloodstream longer or something. Dr. Pretorius was concerned that I was getting a little too used to Xanax, so he wants me to try to gradually come off of that and he'll increase the Zyprexa dosage.

I am currently 26 and just about impotent, i can still get it up but it takes quite a bit of coaxing, i feel blessed that i can get it up at all after years of risperdal depakote seroquel and now im currently on zyprexa, i think shrinks are the biggest quacks and think you should check out this site http://www.stopshrinks.

I have been on 10mg's of zyprexa and it seems to me that this drug is still very strong in the morning and I am very anxious. Later on in the day I feel better. Is this a side effect?

oh--and be sure to have your thyroid levels and your thyroid antibody levels checked. It can cause your condition.

Hi I would like to know if after three years of taking low doses of sertraline 25 mg and 2.5 mg of Zyprexa the nausea and dizziness I feel can be due to the discontinuation of the meds. I was prescribed due to a depresion an chronic anxiety conduct. I also experience a bbit of tingling in my hands and feet that goes on and off switching around.

Sounds like that Celexa was pooping out on you and you needed the Zyprexa to jump start it. Same thing has happened to me on more than a few antidepressants. Lithium also makes for a good booster drug, but most people don't try it as an add on because they think it's only for Bi-polar.

However what you are describing is unusual and potentially of concern so it would be worthwhile to speak to your psychiatrist and they can see whether the Zyprexa is just not treating what it was prescribed for yet as it was just started or if it is worsening things and what the specific cause of the insomnia is as that can be treated as well. Also keep a mood tracker and sleep tracker and see how things are on a daily basis and how they change and print out the results for your psychiatrist.

It has been 4 weeks since I took my last pill and have not slept very much at all and feel alot of anxiety and feel like I have bugs under my skin and have no appetite. I find it very diffifuclt to make it through the day at work and my mind is mush. I was told to take 5-htp and would make a big difference. I don't know if it is related to withdrawals or the 5-htp but I really couldn't sleep when I took that, which makes no sense since people take it to help insomnia.

I took Ativan and Zyprexa together along with Lexapro with no problems other than being a zombie and fattening up my body to 116lbs--which is half of my two pregnancy weights. So--I got off the Zyprexa and now take Lexapro and Ativan (2mg) as needed. I really hated Zyprexa--it made me have a Turtle Brain....

My head doc upped my zyprexa from 5 mg to 10 mg. I am feeling much better today. I am pretty sure my stress level,all the overtime and my regular cycle of manic during the summer brought on the panic attacks. I think my thyroid med is ok. I am still nervy but I am not melting down every 5 seconds. In fact I feel quite calm and serene.

I am on 75mg of methadone and i have been put on 15mg of Zyprexa. It is working great for my mental issues but i missed a doctors appt and ran out. I have been off of Zyprexa for 9 days now and was on it for 47 days only. The past 6 days i have been feeling withdraw symptoms. Shacks, stomach cramps, cold chills, muscle tightness, teeth clinching almost like it put me into methadone withdraws! I am sure thats not it, but i am worried.

the other 3 I cant remember but it made me feel so doped up I switched docs and and she put me on 2 celexa and zyprexa and they have worked wonderful for me. No dopey drugged feeling. Just nice stable everyday normal living. Its seems to me that alot of docs tend to overprescribe when all is need for bi polar is a good mood stabilizer and a good anti depressant I could be wrong since I am not a doc . I am just a bi polar (in remission lol)who has been on alot of meds.

Hello, I took zyprexa (antipsychotic) for 4 years and have taken cymbalta (antidepressant) for 5 years. I gained a lot of weight (50lbs), and started to have insulin resistance problems and high glucose levels. I was put on metformin 500mg once a day for a year. I was told that if I lost the weight my numbers would go back to normal. I lost 40lbs, I am exercising and eating healthy. My doctor told me that I could quit metformin.

There are some considerations when on Zyprexa, you will have to have occasional blood work done, as Zyprexa can cause high blood sugar, increased cholesterol and lipids. If you are at increased risk for heart disease, there may be some risks that you would want to talk to your doctor about.

Hi, I am experiencing burning feet,skin sensitivity and pains in my hands and feet during Zyprexa withdrawal,I`ve been on Zyprexa for 6 years and off it for about 5 months now.Please let me know if the burning feet and all other symptoms will go away with time? placed me on Abilify and my heart palpitation was so severe that I had to go back on Zyprexa. I am taking 1.5 mg of kolonopin for anxiety and 2.5 mg of zyprexa now.Tried to cut out the medication completely but my simptoms returned so I can't do without any medication. Are there any other medication in the market that is similar to Zyprexa that would not effect my liver enzyme? Used Efexor but had heart palpitation.

I started taking Zyprexa about 2 weeks ago and since then I have askasthia, which is the worst possible effect I have ever had. I can't sit still, I pace a lot, I am so tired and my eyes want to shut but the rest of my body cannot sit still. I have confronted the pshychiatrist 2 and both times he left me with it and first he gave me a drug that is supposed to help with askasthia, cogentin. Still didn't work.

I'm bp, been on Zyprexa for 5 yrs off and on, gained weight of course, and know that it has tons of other side effects. But I know Depakote is not without side effects either -- like constipation, liver damager etc. What's worse? Plus, I know it causes weight gain also. What do you guys think? Thanks!
