Zyprexa and kidney disease

Common Questions and Answers about Zyprexa and kidney disease

Avatar n tn I have digenerative disc disease and my neirologist just prescribed topamax, he said it would help with the pain and tingling but could result in weight loss. I am wondering if prescribing topamax for ddd is common among neurologists? I can't seem to find any other information related to topamax as a pain med, only information I have is that it's a powerful drug with lots of side effects, most not so good. The weight loss aspect is the only plus...
Avatar n tn Like i said i have been on 5 years and get blood work twice a year and my liver kidney and other organs are perfect! My blood pressure and cholesterol are perfect too, im very healthy and i work out too. Opiates if taken RESPONSIBLY which 90% of people cant do and dont have the self control to do, but if you have strong will power and take them responsibly instead of just getting ****** up out of your mind all day, then they are MUCH better for you than xanax and other benzos.
Avatar m tn I am 39, will be 40 in a few months. My main concern was that I either had Lyme disease or MS. Both have very similar symptoms. It turns out that I was diagnosed as having BCFS, or Benign Cramp Fasciculation Syndrome. I wish MedHelp would add BCFS as a category, since it is kind of hard to find out a whole lot about it on the internet. Here are a few links that I have found useful about it: http://www.nextination.com/aboutbfs/faqgeneral.htm http://www.ionchannels.org/showabstract.php?
Avatar f tn I get bad agitation, shake to the point I had one person assume I had Parkinson's disease, and have lost a considerable amount of weight to the point I am down to a size four when I should be closer to a size six. Needless to say I really want to get off the Geodone. I also have Chronic Kidney Disease so taking more meds would be a bad idea. I am wondering about Abilify instead of Geodone. What is your experience with this drug? Does it work as well as the atypicals?
202665 tn?1248810333 I found Seroquel to be a helpful antipsychotic and it had mood stabilization effects as well. It was somewhat sedating for me and I had to take it twice a day. For myself 300 mg. was the lowest effective dose and I believe that's true in general but you could ask your psychiatrist as perhaps they intend to raise it.
544292 tn?1268886268 Good Morning Tramadol Warriors! Welcome! So happy to see all of you, and welcome new friends. This is a good place to be if you want to get off Tramadol ... You can do it!
Avatar n tn They were all anxiety driven. It may help you to get on an anti-anxiety medicine. I took Zyprexa and Paxil and together they changed my life. (for the positive !
Avatar n tn ), antiinflammatory drugs are also helpful (indocin, ibprofen, toradol). Some headaches require a different approach and Zyprexa and Seroquel are often helpful in refractory cases. There are also a number migraine preventative medications such as Elavil, topamax, nadolol, etc. that are taken daily. Patients with daily migraine headaches often reuire some IV infusions to break their headache cycle before they can get control again.
Avatar f tn I take zyprexa and I did gain weight at first but I have since lost the extra I gained through 6 small meals a day and walkingfor at least 30 minutes a day. You can keep the weight off wiwth zyprexa. It just takes a little more effort but It is sooooo worth.
Avatar m tn If I'm going to have chemotherapy or be put on a life long drug treatment plan then I want a test to prove it especially when neuro-pharmacology for mental illness causes liver, kidney damage and other problems. I therefore ask the question. Is psychiatry fraud?
Avatar m tn Have you been to a RA doctor to be checked for Lyme Disease, Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia, MS and whatever the doctor can think of. You really need to be seen by a Ruemotoligist for these things because they deal with autoimmune illness' and like illness'. Also have your eyes checked by an eye doctor just to rule out eye problems(they can also tell if you have diabetes and other problems by looking into your eyes) You may also want to see an ENT for your sinus and or an alergist.
611999 tn?1298761891 Hi I have been having these symptoms since June racing heart palps, tremors, nervousness, severe anxiety sweaty hands and feet , dirreah and weakness and lost weight 20lbs epigastric pain . I have had a thyroid ultrasound saying this BELOW on 8/7/08. My first endo doc and GP are saying I should not have these hyper symptoms so bad with my tsh at only .50 t3 and t4 are normal. A few weeks ago I found out I have a 1cm adrenal adenoma .
539694 tn?1434569547 Im still recovering from it over 15 years on, I damaged my liver and my kidney function is impaired and some of my other health problems look to be related - I have to watch my drinking now as well and control it carefully, too easy to slip back into it - I have a healthy relationship with alcohol now but its taken me a long time to get it.
Avatar n tn My uncle is a nurse and said that the pain sounds like it could be my gallbladder, so I had a ultrasound on my gallbladder, pancreas and right kidney 2 days ago and they said everything is normal there too. I was convinced that I had gallstones because the symptoms matched perfectly and the pain comes on after eating greasy or fatty foods. I did a liver cleanse and ordered a gold coin grass tincture to soften up any stones in there, and have been drinking gallons of organic apple juice.
Avatar f tn Isn't it frustrating ? The symptoms of CFS & Fibro are almost identical to lyme disease and the lyme disease tests are often false negatives !
20003388 tn?1515169640 I've come off Lamotrigine, Gabapentin, Zyprexa and Seroquel cold Turkey as well (not by choice) and Paxil was, by far, the worse withdrawal. I appreciate all the input from both of you. It's good that you guys are giving me suggestions of things to do or have checked in case there was something I hadn't considered. As far as the vitamin D3, my levels actually fall within normal range with the supplementation that I take. That probably means without supplementing I would probably be low.
Avatar n tn I am wondering if anyone has any advice, I am so scared to go the doctor and be diagnosed with copd or some irreversible lung disease. I am trying despretely to quit smoking, and have succeeded in cutting back to just 3 ciggerettes a day. But does anyone have any suggestions of what this could be if I were lucky enough for this not being related to my smoking? Why are ciggerettes not banned? I will never understand why the most deadly and addictive drug there is is stiil legal.
Avatar n tn But the best part is that Lexapro makes me feel so much better, and I can address my depression in a calmer way and learn techniques to overcome this disease. The change to Effexor was a mistake, but everyone responds differently to these medications, it's a matter of finding the right one for you.
