Avatar m tn Then, about 2 ½ years ago I had a near-psychotic meltdown, mostly about the devil and evil spirits, and was diagnosed with OCD and prescribed Anafranil and Zyprexa, which helped with the irrational thinking and obsessive thoughts a little. Between now and then, I have been diagnosed with OCD, Social anxiety disorder, GAD, major depressive disorder, ADHD, and most recently, aspergers/high functioning autism.

Avatar n tn I began taking atypical antipsychotics just over a year ago, and stopped just over a month ago. I have been on Risperdal, Abilify, Seroquel, Zyprexa, and Geodon, in that order. Risperdal caused me to have a grand mal seizure. I was only on it for a month or so, and I was taking a fairly low dose (I don't remember precisely how much). Neither Abilify and Seroquel lasted long because of unpleasant side effects (nausea and twitching/akathesia).
Avatar f tn Immediately after a liver transplant surgery some patients may become confused, agitated, and paranoid, with hallucinations and difficulty speaking. This is called delirium or acute brain dysfunction. Treatment of delirium after a liver transplant includes keeping you safe. A nursing aide may sit with you until you think clearly; soft wrist restraints may be used to prevent pulling intravenous catheters and drains.
1353720 tn?1414503124 I felt sick often and found myself throwing up and involuntarily urinating and defecating. My doctor gave me a sample of Abilify but that just didn't work for me either. In addition to all these side effects, I really missed being able to talk to my bear. And also having Jack pop around when I was alone made me feel safe. I'm looking for another alternative. It's been incredibly difficult because I've grown so incredibly attached to my bear and Jack.
789911 tn?1368636783 Withdrawing too soon can lead to symptoms such as insomnia, hallucinations, and delusions. In order to reduce your risk of severe Zyprexa withdrawal symptoms, your healthcare provider may decide to slowly decrease your dosage.

Avatar f tn My son is 20, and has recently been treated with drugs for psychosis and depression (zyprexa and pristiq). He tells me that he has had drugs before but isn't addicted to them, and his psychosis and anxiety had nothing to do with drugs.
709415 tn?1229280953 that people speak of, he has mainly had anxiety, panic attacks concerning his symptoms and depression. He has auditory hallucinations 24/7 in which the voices tell him to harm himself or others. His extreme sadness at times is turned into extreme rage at this point. He has social phobia at this point as well. As far as physical symptoms, he has confusion and trouble concentrating and blurred vision at times.
12268405 tn?1427853361 You actually can have depression and have hallucinations when your depresion is severe enough. That is not unheard of. Hallucinations can happen in other conditions besides schizophrenia. I also had paranoia. It can happen with depression, especially when you aren't sleepig very much. I have had psychotic breaks with the depression cycle of my bipolar disorder. However, I do know people with major depression and situational depression who had episodes of visual hallucination.

616450 tn?1228433627 I've been taking Zyprexa at bedtime for the past few nights, per Endo #3, and I feel a lot better, folks. As a matter of fact, I felt better almost immediately after taking the first dose. It seems to act quick, like Xanax, but stays in the bloodstream longer or something. Dr. Pretorius was concerned that I was getting a little too used to Xanax, so he wants me to try to gradually come off of that and he'll increase the Zyprexa dosage.
Avatar n tn I just posted this on another website - I figure what the heck - the more the merrier! I will copy and paste! (It seems that more people are out and about here_ So, I want to make this a short post but don't know how I will manage that! About 4 or 5 years ago I became very very depressed. There was a lot of things going on - it was horrible.
Avatar m tn Hi I would like to know if after three years of taking low doses of sertraline 25 mg and 2.5 mg of Zyprexa the nausea and dizziness I feel can be due to the discontinuation of the meds. I was prescribed due to a depresion an chronic anxiety conduct. I also experience a bbit of tingling in my hands and feet that goes on and off switching around.
1082697 tn?1260064616 Sounds like that Celexa was pooping out on you and you needed the Zyprexa to jump start it. Same thing has happened to me on more than a few antidepressants. Lithium also makes for a good booster drug, but most people don't try it as an add on because they think it's only for Bi-polar.
Avatar n tn Here is what is going on, let me say right now I have not drunk alcohol for 5 months straight and I have not taken any illegal drugs for 3 months. Just to sum up that, as you'll probably ask that later. I am asking if psychosis exists in bipolar disorder because I have been experiencing episodes that make it difficult to concentrate on anything. I frequently have blackouts, where I honestly cannot remember how I got from point A to point B.
Avatar m tn Is there anyone who got off Zyprexa and with Natural medication getting this Zyprexa and left on Natural medication and then off Natural medication. And felt alot better no symptoms of bipolar or Pschysoaffective?
1848481 tn?1319676852 However what you are describing is unusual and potentially of concern so it would be worthwhile to speak to your psychiatrist and they can see whether the Zyprexa is just not treating what it was prescribed for yet as it was just started or if it is worsening things and what the specific cause of the insomnia is as that can be treated as well. Also keep a mood tracker and sleep tracker and see how things are on a daily basis and how they change and print out the results for your psychiatrist.
Avatar f tn It has been 4 weeks since I took my last pill and have not slept very much at all and feel alot of anxiety and feel like I have bugs under my skin and have no appetite. I find it very diffifuclt to make it through the day at work and my mind is mush. I was told to take 5-htp and would make a big difference. I don't know if it is related to withdrawals or the 5-htp but I really couldn't sleep when I took that, which makes no sense since people take it to help insomnia.
Avatar n tn I took Ativan and Zyprexa together along with Lexapro with no problems other than being a zombie and fattening up my body to 116lbs--which is half of my two pregnancy weights. So--I got off the Zyprexa and now take Lexapro and Ativan (2mg) as needed. I really hated Zyprexa--it made me have a Turtle Brain....
1713187 tn?1368462822 I am on 75mg of methadone and i have been put on 15mg of Zyprexa. It is working great for my mental issues but i missed a doctors appt and ran out. I have been off of Zyprexa for 9 days now and was on it for 47 days only. The past 6 days i have been feeling withdraw symptoms. Avatar m tn Recently she has been experiencing panic-type attacks and possible hallucinations. The doc says her Synthroid levels are not too high--that was her first thought--but I wonder. Has anyone else experienced hallucinations due to hormone imbalance?
Avatar f tn Hello, I took zyprexa (antipsychotic) for 4 years and have taken cymbalta (antidepressant) for 5 years. I gained a lot of weight (50lbs), and started to have insulin resistance problems and high glucose levels. I was put on metformin 500mg once a day for a year. I was told that if I lost the weight my numbers would go back to normal. I lost 40lbs, I am exercising and eating healthy. My doctor told me that I could quit metformin.
Avatar m tn There are some considerations when on Zyprexa, you will have to have occasional blood work done, as Zyprexa can cause high blood sugar, increased cholesterol and lipids. If you are at increased risk for heart disease, there may be some risks that you would want to talk to your doctor about.
Avatar f tn I was on Zyprexa and the sister drug Risperdal.... Loved how it took me off the edge...HATED the weight gain.... Abilify was suggested years ago- For me, abilify worked well enough on its own- I am a rapid cycler Biploar II. At one point I was on 14 different medications..... in the end Abilify was my "balance" I was able to experience moods, but not in the extreme measures that I was... Personally, I liked abilify- i had that and PRN of seroqoel.
