Avatar f tn I have been seeing a regular neurologist to see if she can treat my migraines and am currently on 150 mg. of Zonisamide every night to try to help that, but I am also working with Dr. Gardner at UPMC, who is a Chiari specialist. He believes it is best to eliminate all other possibilities before actually resorting to surgery to treat the Chiari, which I respect. I go back for a 6 month follow-up MRI and consult with Dr. Gardner next week.
15422595 tn?1440452745 She was initially put on Zonisamide but after 2 weeks, she had a couple more seizures. At that point the docs added Phenobarbital. We've had her blood tested and the PB is at the proper levels in her system. The good news is she's not had any seizures since then... the not so good news is that she's still not adapted well to the meds after 7 weeks.
Avatar m tn Last month, my first month on the patch, I was using the Mylan brand and I was switched to every 48 hours. But after reading the archives here, some people were not very happy with the brand. (not all, some) Im just wondering if that brand is why they faded so bad at 60 hours. I just opened one of the Aveva's to see what kind apatch it is. it looks like the same rubber type as the Mylan was. I dont see any gel. I cant open it all the way as I am not due a change till tomorow.
Avatar f tn I have recently started the patch and have found a difference between effectiveness of the two brands TEVA and MYLAN. First I had Teva 12mcg/72hrs (twice) then 2X 12mcg/72 (twice) and then went to 50mcg patches on the 72hr interval, so far twice. The 25mcg patches are Mylan brand and I noticed, pretty quickly, a decrease in effectiveness. Has anyone else? My pharmacy says I can specify... otherwise the script will be filled with Mylan.
Avatar m tn t ask for any particular generic brand. But what I got was Mylan. I have taken Teva and other brands before, but the mylan seems to do next to nothing. if I were to take one mg of Teva my anxiety woud be relieved for the morning. I cant tell that mylan is doing anything. Can I take my bottle back and demand another brand. They can throw the mylan away and give me something that works or Ill find another pharmacy.
374225 tn?1269899262 I was getting the Patch by Sandoz which was working great and then the Pharmacy decided that Sandoz was too expensive and restocked the shelves with the Mylan Patch. After refilling my scrip with the Mylan I had noticed over the next day that I had increased pain and felt fluish. I brushed it off and chocked it up to me just not feeling good. After putting the next patch on I had noticed the samething going on and reaized that the patch was not preforming like the Sandoz.
Avatar n tn I have taken been taking Alprazolam .5 mg Mylan brand for years. My drugstore recently switched to Sandoz brand which gave me heartburn. The drugstore switched again to Dava brand which brought on anxiety and nervousness. One last try with the pharmacy and they gave me Greenstone which is causing sleep problems, mainly insomnia. Is the Mylan brand no longer available? And are the side affects above possible since they are supposed to all have the same active ingredients. Is it the filler?
667078 tn?1316000935 Mylan a big maker of generics like Teva has teamed up with Natco an Indian Pharmaceutical, who makes a generic of Copaxone. They have been fighting with Teva in U.S. Courts over patent infringement for years. PITTSBURGH, Sept. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Mylan Inc. (NASDAQ: MYL) today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has accepted for filing Mylan Pharmaceutical Inc.
Avatar n tn If you take off a Mylan Brand patch and you stick it to something, Can you reuse that same patch days later? Someone has advised me to use two old ones at the same time to equal one new one, but this definitely didn't sound right? If anyone can help I would be most grateful. I am on vacation and our trip has been delayed I cant get home for a week! I am scared to death and there is absolutely no way for me to get a new script here!
Avatar f tn Hi There. I know what you are going through. My dog (12 year old Beagle) started having seizures in Jun 2014. My dog went through about the same thing your dog is going through. Apparently, my dog is very sensitive to PB. Have tried several dosages on her & she does ok with a very, very low dose but the seizures come back in 2-3 wks. Right now she is taking 1/2 tab in a.m., 1/2 tab in p.m and every other evening she takes 1 full tab (this is 16.2 mg).
Avatar f tn Watson. Ugh! I had the same problem with that brand and it never lasted the full 3 days. The only non-gel generic patch I know if is Mylan. I've used it for a couple years now and it's been great for me. It stays stuck better than the others and actually lasts 3 days. It looks like a piece of clear tape and is about half the size of the gel patches. Have you tried placing your patches on your ribcage?
Avatar n tn I have a 1 year 4 month old German Shepherd named Melo who's been having seizures since he was 1. I just wanted to share my experience because I know its comforting to hear stories of other people that are going through what you're going through, makes you feel less hopeless. Melo had 4 seizures in the span of 2 hours, he's taking 300mg of Zonisamide every 12 hours but before take refill arrived he had ran out and that's when the seizures happened.
Avatar m tn t find a workable dosage of phenobartibal, you might want to ask your vet about either Dilantin, Valium, potassium bromide, felbamate, or a different type of anti-seizure medicine that can be used in conjunction with potassium bromide and/or phenobarbital together called Zonisamide. Zonisamide is totally unrelated to any of the other anticonvulsants, but, like Keppra, the full extent of its side effects is not yet known so to some vets, it is somewhat controversial to prescribe it.
979826 tn?1389036358 has anyone heard of Zonisamide? i will go on this drug once i come off topamax I've been on topamax forever!
Avatar m tn The vet did bloodwork and put her on zonisamide 100mg twice a day. She continued having them so vet doubled her dosage to 200 mg twice daily. She continued having them but they were much shorter in duration. So the vet added phenobarbital 1g twice daily in addition to her zonisamide 200mg twice daily. My question is about the side effects. It has been a week since the pheno was added and she is still very clumsy and can't even walk up stairs.
Avatar f tn I just.
Avatar n tn I have been on the Mylan Brand patch now for 7 years, just recently changed to the Johnson&johnson brand due to having no insurance, because the Mylan were $270 per month and the J&J are at no cost to me. I'm having a hard time finding this brand in any drug store in my area. I live in Southern Maine, South Berwick, Maine to be exact. Do you know what pharmacies in my area have this brand of Fentalyn Tr. P 75 mcg? Thank you, M.
Avatar m tn I think Mallinkropt is not producing for some reason maybe in protest at lawsuits. By the way Alvogen costs the pharmacy $150 more for 15 patches than mylan. Mylan is manufactured in WV and Alvogen in California. Imho mylan is junk at least for me. I also use hydrocodone for breakthrough pain and one manufacturer of that generic makes me sick to my stomach. We are all different and should be able to get what works best for us.
Avatar f tn I started with 12.5 mcg mylan patches every 72 hours about 1 month ago. While the dose is not yet correct it is obvious this treatment is a vast improvement to anything else ever tried, while still completely disabled I am able to imagine leaving my home for the first time in years! Very encouraging and exciting! So, last week Dr increased to 25 mcg patch every 72 hours.
Avatar f tn Ditto, mylan makes a patch that is just "coated" and not gell filled and those do not work well at all and do not last even close to the 72 hours they are suppose to. Any of the gel filled ones are fine. That being said, the fentanyl patches are 80 times stronger than morphine and where they do provide long term relief, they are one of the hardest drugs to ever come off of, if you ever get to where you need to quit them.
1577473 tn?1296177286 in my area to be seen by a neurologist. I saw the doctor for the first appt and she put me on Zonisamide as a migraine preventative and Maxalt-MLT 10 mg as a rescue medication as well as ordering some labs, an MRI and an MRA. All tests came back normal. The Maxalt worked well when I got the migraines but insurance wasn't too happy with it so we had to switch. She then put me on Relpax which didn't work at all.
Avatar m tn Now, this particular script is Mylan. I actually feel noticeably less fatigued from waking, throughout the day. This is just after a week or two of this script, so hopefully my symptoms keep improving. My question is this, will I be alright on generics as long as I make sure I continue getting the Mylan brand Levothyroxine? I have been searching the internet for opinions and have seen them go both ways. It would be comforting to hear some positive experiences with generics.
1402028 tn?1280858335 s have been performed. The seizure medication I was on was called Zonisamide...and it made all of my symptoms worse. I was taken off of that and put on Amitripylene, which I am currently on. It doesn't seem to be doing a whole lot but the doctor wants me to try it for 3 months and I am on month 2. My sleep pattern is messed up badly now as well; I don't know if it is from the medicines, or just lack of exercise since I'm stuck indoors so much now. Thank you for the help.
Avatar m tn Look at the prescription bottle to see which company manufactured the zolpidem. For many years a pharmacy sent me 90 day supplies of zolpidem from Mylan (manufacturer) which worked well. Then one time I noticed the color of the pills had changed to white and the shape was a little different. Those pills were from Teva (manufacturer) and gave me headaches, dizziness and a general sense of unwellness.
Avatar f tn In addition to Tirosint, I also take a generic T3 med and I will only accept pills from Mylan, because they gave me pills from a different manufacturer and I went downhill within 3 days. The pharmacy has my account flagged. I've done really well on Tirosint, but some others have not. Because it's a gelcap, it's more thoroughly dissolved and absorbed better than pill type medications.
Avatar m tn mylan pharmaceuticals will distribute harvoni and sovaldi in india. should be ready to go by years end. there is quite a bit of info on internet.
