Avatar f tn t find the pattern. I suspect withdrawal, however since I am taking zolpidem, does that rule out temazepam withdrawal? IDK what is happening because I don't crave anything, but I feel awful.
Avatar f tn I previously alternated between temazepam and zolpidem for sleep. I also take gabapentin. Three weeks ago I stopped temazepam and tramadol. I am taking zolpidem every night now and continue gabapentin 3x a day. I don't crave either of the meds I quit, but I have been experiencing inability to concentrate, ringing in my ears, vomiting, blurry vision, sweating, confusion, anxiety and mood swings. The symptoms wax and wane and I can't find a pattern.

Avatar f tn Im addicted to zolpidem How do I get off it with the minimal withdrawal symptoms Ive been on it for 2 years now
Avatar f tn Some conditions may become worse when this drug is suddenly stopped. Also, you may experience withdrawal symptoms such as hallucinations and seizures. To prevent withdrawal reactions, your doctor may reduce your dose gradually. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details, and report any withdrawal reactions immediately. It may take 1 to 2 months or longer to get the full benefit from this medication. Tell your doctor if your condition does not improve or if it worsens.
491910 tn?1209366193 It is easy to become addicted to Zolpidem and physical and mental withdrawal symptoms are the result as the medication wears off. On this page you will learn how to withdraw from Zolpidem after long term use. Using Zolpidem regularly for more than a few weeks often causes addiction with day time withdrawal symptoms and problems discontinuing the drug. The mechanism of action of Zolpidem is similar to that of the benzodiazepines.
Avatar f tn 5mg alprazolam (I have been using for 10 years) and use zolpidem 5mg ? My doctor (psychiatric) never told me to withdraw slowly and I wonder if it might be dangerous to do it this way? This is my secong night and it has been hard however my concern is the method this doctor is using.
Avatar f tn is the safest and will help to reduce the w/d symptoms too. I did the same thing with the Zolpidem; reduced the amount slowly, saving it for last (I've always had sleep issues and was worried about this, but was able to do it - and you can too!). I had the same situation with my husband too; he knew I was taking pills but had no idea how much or that it had become a problem, but I was afraid to tell him. Well I finally ended up spilling it all to him on the second day of my detox.
Avatar m tn Hello and hope you are doing well. Insomnia is a side effect of Amitriptyline. But you may develop tolerance to this effect. However if it persists, discuss your symptoms with your consulting doctor he may change the dose or the medications. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn My dad has been taking Zolpidem for over 3 years and recently I found out Zolpidem is used for treating short term insomnia. I'd like to know if it can be used for long term and if whether there are any medications available which can be used for long term treatment.
Avatar n tn d go straight into a panic so they started me on zolpidem 10 at night. I have been on it for 18 months now and zolpidem does not work, and I don't want to take more, so will try wean off that, but I know what will happen, back to adrenalin rushes...plus Xanax seems to have no effect, but if I don't take it, I know I have'nt, if that makes sense. Am I on too much here?
1581649 tn?1311920056 Things get gradually worse for around 4 days, then suddenly you will feel much, much better. So hang in there, with luck in another day or two you will be over the worst of it. The insomnia and cravings do tend to be the last symptoms to go away in all honesty but the rest are very short term for most people. I kept going as I knew it would soon (mostly) pass and that I had to clean up to get my life back, or even stay alive at all ... but this fight is different for everyone.
Avatar m tn Look at the prescription bottle to see which company manufactured the zolpidem. For many years a pharmacy sent me 90 day supplies of zolpidem from Mylan (manufacturer) which worked well. Then one time I noticed the color of the pills had changed to white and the shape was a little different. Those pills were from Teva (manufacturer) and gave me headaches, dizziness and a general sense of unwellness.
1218873 tn?1300091216 I need to be awake and all systems firing for that day and after a long conversation about whether I could not go, or may be fly instead of coaching it, he gave a prescription for Zolpidem sleeping tablets 5mg. I have a tendency to wake up in the middle of the night and lie in bed with leg and arm pain a bit like flu but with out the fever for several hours. The idea of the sleeping tablet is to give me a full nights sleep, so I am brighter the next day.
18070169 tn?1463175914 At this time I was also taking zolpidem every night. I read some stuff on zolpidem side effects and it appeared that after my surgery some of the rare side effects started cropping up. I attributed my anxiety to that. So I quit the zolpidem ct (which I probably shouldn't have) and did have a miserable few weeks, but a lot of the pains I was feeling went away. Of course new pains showed up like a back ache, which I still have.
1717001 tn?1308982551 I need to find something that will help me sleep so that I can continue to function on my job while coping with serious Tramadol withdrawal. I get tired and fall asleep, but within a half hour wake up and I just know, that was all the sleep I was going to get for tonight. I guess I'm on day 4 now. Does Valerian root work?
Avatar n tn Hydroxyzine was very helpful for me to get off and stay off Alprazolam, which is a benzo the same as Klonopin. You could be having withdrawal still. Those Benzo's do terrible stuff to the CNS and withdrawal can last years, hence the feeling you have of wanting to get back on them. Risperdal has a very good antianxiety affect too, but there are specific reasons why you should take risperdal, such as bipolar or schizo, and not just for anxiety.

Avatar m tn Any of you guys have an opinion on usgae low dose to zolpidem 5mg along with 25/50mg of diphenhydramine.....does one cancel out other or issing together worse on liver or not.....?
Avatar f tn I have taken 10 mg Zolpidem (Ambien) for years as it really helps me sleep. But I think it may be causing my tinnitus. The only way to be sure of this is to stop taking it for a time and see if tinnitus goes away. So far, I have not taken any for 11 nights and tinnitus is still the same. - A pretty much constant low-pitched noise. How long would I have to stay off Zolpidem before knowing whether or not it is the culprit?
Avatar f tn re describing are pretty classic withdrawal symptoms. Chronic pain can cause all kinds of emotional distress. You can't do what you want, it interferes with sleep, and the nerves get very touchy so the pain feels worse. Taking opiates regularly will make the dosage not work so well, so you take more not so much for the pain but to avoid the withdrawal. But what you haven't said is if he feels anxious or not -- if he doesn't, he doesn't have anxiety.
1910757 tn?1348683319 t want to take Venlafaxine, she got pissed and told me I was overreacting and that she had never had any withdrawal symptoms on Venlafaxine. So, apparently my choices are taking Venlafaxine or just weaning off this is stuff, which I'm really considering, since following my treatment with Sertraline seems out of question...
620048 tn?1358018235 • If Ambien is used daily for more than a few weeks, abrupt discontinuation is not recommended or you could have unpleasant withdrawal symptoms. Ask your doctor how to avoid withdrawal symptoms when you stop using the medicine. • Immediate-release Ambien is used to help you fall asleep. The extended-release form, Ambien CR, has a first layer that dissolves quickly to help you fall asleep, and a second layer that dissolves slowly to help you stay asleep.
Avatar m tn To my knowledge, neither klonopin nor seroquel would be first line treatments for insomnia. Seroquel is certainly sedating, but that's a side effect, not its purpose. It can also cause pretty severe weight gain and diabetes, so to take it just for insomnia seems like overkill. As for your withdrawal, are you in withdrawal? You don't state what your symptoms are. Not everyone gets bad withdrawals, in fact most don't.
