Avatar f tn The Paxil is 25mg and the Zolpidem is 5 mg. I have on them since March of this year. The doctor told me to take the Paxil every other day for 2 weeks then quit. The Zolpidiem to take as needed. I have only taken one in the last 2 weeks. My last Paxil was last Weds. night, almost a week ago. The nausea and dizziness are not getting any better yet. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Avatar f tn I see my psychiatrist in two months, what are some alternatives that I can discuss with my doc? Has anyone ever had a doc. say it is ok to take 20mg zolpidem? I have been on this drug for the shortest amount of time (2 months, going on 3) but I feel that tolerance is already an issue with ambien, but apart from another benzo or non-beno z-drug what else is there? If 10mg zolpidem won't put me out would it be of any use to try ambien CR? 6.25 mg. is not going to put me out...
1201433 tn?1328997637 Exposure to zolpidem was decreased when co-administered with telaprevir. Clinical monitoring and dose titration of zolpidem is recommended to achieve the desired clinical response." I also take Zolpidem for my drug induced insomnia. The standard version is either 5mg or 10mg. The CR version is 12.5mg. I tried both the standard and the CR versions. I didn't notice much difference so I am now taking the standard (10mg) version (mostly because it costs less).
4149717 tn?1389503561 Zolpidem Zolpidem should normally be taken for short periods of time. If you take zolpidem for 2 weeks or longer, zolpidem may not help you sleep as well as it did when you first began to take the medication. If you take zolpidem for a long time, you also may develop dependence ('addiction,' a need to continue taking the medication) on zolpidem. Talk to your doctor about the risks of taking zolpidem for 2 weeks or longer.
Avatar m tn Hi, I'm a chemical dependency counselor who also happened to have a strong addiction to xanax for 8 years. I have been off it for 10 years now, but it was hell getting off. Xanax is highly addictive and takes time to get off of. I found I had to go down very, very slowly. In the end, I was just taking a few grains several times a day. I had a few panic attacks going off. It's upsetting that no one told you it was addictive (I wasn't told either).
1218873 tn?1300091216 t take Lyrica but take Gaba, flexeril and Clonazepam. The Zolpidem puts me out very well, but I still wake up with pain throughout the night like you mention. I take the 10 mg with 1mg of Clonazapam. Can you ask him for a anti-anxiety medication to take with the sleeper? Maybe ativan which has a shorter half life (I think---I'm not a doctor)?
Avatar m tn Look at the prescription bottle to see which company manufactured the zolpidem. For many years a pharmacy sent me 90 day supplies of zolpidem from Mylan (manufacturer) which worked well. Then one time I noticed the color of the pills had changed to white and the shape was a little different. Those pills were from Teva (manufacturer) and gave me headaches, dizziness and a general sense of unwellness.
Avatar n tn re worried about withdrawal from ) - I know xanax valium and klonopin all can work in place of ambien so can benadryl (better off with benadryl if you can but having a backup plan doesn't hurt) If I were you I would stop taking ambien as often as possible if you're still on it , do not consider rehab if you cannot afford it you'll survive I can say this I had some odd problems but I didn't even realize it was withdrawal until I thought about it ( like loss of appetite for
Avatar m tn Hello and hope you are doing well. Insomnia is a side effect of Amitriptyline. But you may develop tolerance to this effect. However if it persists, discuss your symptoms with your consulting doctor he may change the dose or the medications. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
723660 tn?1247163511 I've been struggling with this for a long time. I can sleep 6, 7, even 8 or more hours, and still feel tired and drained in the morning. If I try and sleep too long (more than 7 hours), I feel hung over as well as tired, and develop a headache. I don't wake up in the night, don't snore, don't dream, and have only mild insomnia falling asleep at night. My last doctor prescribed zolpidem (ambien), which didn't help at all, and may have only made it worse.
1580703 tn?1651904887 Hi! I am still suffering from hypopneas and central apnea with O2 of 75% and have been sick for 4 weIeks. I've been using O2 at 5 liters/min and it makes me feel better. I found these drugs that could possibly help. I use zolpidem and it seems to help and am trying to get restoril. This disease is destroying my career and life. Thanks very much!
Avatar m tn s late to start one for its primary effect, as they usually take 6 weeks to start helping with depression, but some types of anti-depressants are also sedating, and are often prescribed to help with sleep problems. It would be a good idea to discuss the whole thing with your doctor again. The last 6 weeks are really hard, but keep looking at how far you've already come and they will come to an end eventually.
Avatar f tn I previously alternated between temazepam and zolpidem for sleep. I also take gabapentin. Three weeks ago I stopped temazepam and tramadol. I am taking zolpidem every night now and continue gabapentin 3x a day. I don't crave either of the meds I quit, but I have been experiencing inability to concentrate, ringing in my ears, vomiting, blurry vision, sweating, confusion, anxiety and mood swings. The symptoms wax and wane and I can't find a pattern.
Avatar n tn d go straight into a panic so they started me on zolpidem 10 at night. I have been on it for 18 months now and zolpidem does not work, and I don't want to take more, so will try wean off that, but I know what will happen, back to adrenalin rushes...plus Xanax seems to have no effect, but if I don't take it, I know I have'nt, if that makes sense. Am I on too much here?
18070169 tn?1463175914 At this time I was also taking zolpidem every night. I read some stuff on zolpidem side effects and it appeared that after my surgery some of the rare side effects started cropping up. I attributed my anxiety to that. So I quit the zolpidem ct (which I probably shouldn't have) and did have a miserable few weeks, but a lot of the pains I was feeling went away. Of course new pains showed up like a back ache, which I still have.
Avatar f tn s generic form zolpidem. it has always work up until two months ago when apparently the pharmacy changed suppliers. i took the little round purle pill up until then and now i take a white oval one. This one does not seem to be working as well and the side effect just seem wierd Does anyone think that the new manufacturer product is inferior and has anyone experienced this?
Avatar f tn Mine suggested taking 2 Benadryl tablets at bedtime - they help with itching and also make one more drowsy, at least for a month or so until your body gets acclimated to it. Mine also told me it was probably okay to take melatonin for sleep (but I worried and waited until after the Incivek phase was over). Many have reported being advised to take the second dose of Ribavirin in the afternoon rather than the evening, and some have been given prescription sleeping meds.
1564517 tn?1314346323 I recently had to switch my med doctor because of my age. I have really bad insomnia and have all my life. I'm usually okay once asleep but I cant fall asleep on my own. I was put on 100mg on seroquel but it was reduced overtime because it was causing me to sleep too much, uncontrollably. I now take 25mg at night. But it still takes around 3 hours after I take it before I fall asleep. Well the other day my new doctor put me on 10mg of Zolpidem to take at night with the seroquel....
Avatar n tn hello!
Avatar f tn Many people have problems with insomnia on HCV treatment. Try to get even light exercise during the day, avoid daytime naps, no caffeine after noon, and if none of that helps, maybe you could ask your doctor for something like Ambien of Lunesta maybe; I assume they are available in Canada, although possibly under a different brand name. The generic name for Ambien is ‘Zolpidem’, if that helps.
Avatar m tn I am prescribed 12.5mg. of zolpidem but my insurance will only cover RX for 10mg. Is this safe to switch?
Avatar f tn but it can be abused and there are people who have an addiction to nyquil and benadryl too...be careful with any drug you use..even OTC drugs...
Avatar f tn There is lot of mixed reaction from the users of Zolpidem to help sleep, it has done wonders in few people while few are not satisfied with its use or the side effects of the drug and its dependence. Ambien is meant for short-term use and not for years. I would like to suggest you to consult a sleep doctor and discuss the other options for alternate drugs. Take care and share your thoughts.
