t take Lyrica but take Gaba, flexeril and Clonazepam. The Zolpidem puts me out very well, but I still wake up with pain throughout the night like you mention. I take the 10 mg with 1mg of Clonazapam. Can you ask him for a anti-anxiety medication to take with the sleeper? Maybe ativan which has a shorter half life (I think---I'm not a doctor)?

I was fine for the first 6 weeks and then after I would have occasional panic attacks, but not consistent. I had bladder pain and a pretty intense side pain so went in to be checked. No UTI, no infections in any of the organs and no stones or anything in the kidney or gallbladder. At this time I was also taking zolpidem every night. I read some stuff on zolpidem side effects and it appeared that after my surgery some of the rare side effects started cropping up.

I get 3 nights of very little sleep then my body goes back to normal. It is nothing like coming off of pain meds. You just have resign yourself that sleep will not be good for a few nights, but it will kick back in. Hope this helps. You may want to ask your Dr. about weaning. I have suffered from insomnia for about 3 years now and have tried trazadone and zolpidem tartrate. I am currently on zolpidem 10 mg. I do not have trouble maintaining sleep just onset. Usually this occurs 3-4 nights a week and can lay awake for 2-4 hours before falling asleep. This causes me to be extremely tired the next day. I really avoid taking naps and can "power" through the day only to feel wide awake come bed time around 11-12 pm.

Hello and hope you are doing well. Insomnia is a side effect of Amitriptyline. But you may develop tolerance to this effect. However if it persists, discuss your symptoms with your consulting doctor he may change the dose or the medications. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

Any of you guys have an opinion on usgae low dose to zolpidem 5mg along with 25/50mg of diphenhydramine.....does one cancel out other or issing together worse on liver or not.....?

I previously alternated between temazepam and zolpidem for sleep. I also take gabapentin. Three weeks ago I stopped temazepam and tramadol. I am taking zolpidem every night now and continue gabapentin 3x a day. I don't crave either of the meds I quit, but I have been experiencing inability to concentrate, ringing in my ears, vomiting, blurry vision, sweating, confusion, anxiety and mood swings. The symptoms wax and wane and I can't find a pattern.

Hi! I think that quitting one drug would definitely be a step in the right direction. Are you abusing the norcos? Are you looking to get off of everything? It will probably be too hard to quit all of that at once. You should definitely check with your doctor to set up a taper plan, or decide whether you are healthy enough to quit cold turkey. Ok I come to my medhelp experts for help. I have several pain injury issues. My pain management Dr just added this. I haven't taken any yet. I have nerve compression in neck nerve entrapment in low back besides several other nerve issues. I take 2 50mg of trazodone nightly for all nerve spasms. After 5 months the nerve jerks r keeping me awake again. So dr prescribed baclofen to help with this. I'm so afraid to take after all I've read on here on any type of benzos.

My dad has been taking Zolpidem for over 3 years and recently I found out Zolpidem is used for treating short term insomnia. I'd like to know if it can be used for long term and if whether there are any medications available which can be used for long term treatment.

Pain is more centered and higher. But, when I can sleep I toss in a zolpidem which I guess makes me ambien-dexterous.

s generic form zolpidem. it has always work up until two months ago when apparently the pharmacy changed suppliers. i took the little round purle pill up until then and now i take a white oval one. It affects my life, I fall asleep in the morning hours and sleep well into the afternoon. I currently take 200-300 mg trazodone, 1.5-2 mg clonazepam, and 10-20 mg zolpidem. My bladder is pretty good and so is my eye, but still waiting for the lower back pain to go. My side (by the gall bladder) is better but still sore. My panic attacks and my face flushing is gone now, but I do wake up a little nauseated, but that dissipates during the day. My appetite is not great, but I force myself to eat, even though it feels like I am eating sawdust, because after I feel so much better. By evening, I am feeling much better and each day is better.

That is something you wont realize until you get off. I have not experienced lower back pain like I did while on it. Bowels more consistent. The BAD: I feel like I could punch somebody's face out if they looked at me wrong. In other words, I have been extremely irritable and not fun to live with. Of course the nights of not sleeping well fall into this category. I will follow up with the next two weeks as they come. I'm anticipating a positive transition within these two weeks.
