zolpidem and liver disease

My wife has been Zolpidem (generic Ambien) for 20+ yrs. She recently took a job in China and has been told the ultrasound show 'fatty infiltration of the liver'. She is 50 yrs old and drinks only occasionally and excercises and eats well/healthy for the most part. Could her long-term use of Zolpidem have contributed to this liver problem?

d go straight into a panic so they started me on zolpidem 10 at night. I have been on it for 18 months now and zolpidem does not work, and I don't want to take more, so will try wean off that, but I know what will happen, back to adrenalin rushes...plus Xanax seems to have no effect, but if I don't take it, I know I have'nt, if that makes sense. I also take gabapentin. Three weeks ago I stopped temazepam and tramadol. I am taking zolpidem every night now and continue gabapentin 3x a day. I don't crave either of the meds I quit, but I have been experiencing inability to concentrate, ringing in my ears, vomiting, blurry vision, sweating, confusion, anxiety and mood swings. The symptoms wax and wane and I can't find a pattern. The seem to occur as a cluster, meaning all symptoms occur together and come on suddenly.

At this time I was also taking zolpidem every night. I read some stuff on zolpidem side effects and it appeared that after my surgery some of the rare side effects started cropping up. I attributed my anxiety to that. So I quit the zolpidem ct (which I probably shouldn't have) and did have a miserable few weeks, but a lot of the pains I was feeling went away. Of course new pains showed up like a back ache, which I still have.

I wonder if anyone knows if it is ok to take valium and/or sleeping pills during treatment?

I did call mu doc and left massage yesterday and following up today. .In the meantime i wi try benadryle..His Way/ is zolpidem and unisom over the counter?

I have suffered from insomnia for about 3 years now and have tried trazadone and zolpidem tartrate. I am currently on zolpidem 10 mg. I do not have trouble maintaining sleep just onset. Usually this occurs 3-4 nights a week and can lay awake for 2-4 hours before falling asleep. This causes me to be extremely tired the next day. I really avoid taking naps and can "power" through the day only to feel wide awake come bed time around 11-12 pm.

I took a few days 10 mg of zolpidem for sleep (from the doctor) and now my head is terrible you think it would go by itself?I have terrible insomnia and i don't know is very unpleasent and makes me very lethargic in motion.

s something you can stop CT or if you need to taper. Best to ask your doctor or pharmacist. I was on it for years, and I did stop CT and used melatonin and Allteril instead. I actually find the Allteril works better for sleep than the Ambien did.

I think my “depression” is controlled but I feel I can’t relax and can’t sleep and irritable and annoyed most od the time. Even when I use zolpidem/zopiclone I get a good nights sleep, but still feel miserable the next day. The reason I wound up on this combo was that when weaning the mirtazapine got depressive symptoms coming back and those were controlled by adding in a bit of sertraline.

Hello and hope you are doing well. Insomnia is a side effect of Amitriptyline. But you may develop tolerance to this effect. However if it persists, discuss your symptoms with your consulting doctor he may change the dose or the medications. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

I had been on klonopil and celextra for 4 years, after a bad pannic attack, every time i wanted to came off the pills the symptoms where back, so my gp kept prescribing it, i was for about 2 years on a dose of 2.0 then lowered to 1.50 the last 18 months, i begun to notice that i was loosing my short memory, so i decided to stop it lowering again the dose to a 1.0, it made me slepp so well, the problems begun when i was taking 0.

I am really trying to see if my sister's condition has anything to do with her being given this shot. Last time she was given it was April 2013, she is currently in the hospital fighting for her life!! So with all the warnings about if you have a liver disease you shouldn't be taking this shot and the doctors are advising her liver isn't functioning and for it to be as far gone as it is, if she had come to hospital a year ago they wouldn't have been able to do anything!!

I was going thru a bottle of vodka every 2 to 3 days. I started having discomfort in the liver area with nausea fatigue and dry mouth. Had an lft done all normal. Still felt sick and went to the hospital lft normal except elevated bilirubin ultrasound normal. Had another lft couple of weeks after bilrubin down to 1.3. And another normal ultrasound. My daughter has been diagnosed with liver disease. She had hep c but that is now under control. She has developed varies in the aesophagus and these are banded every three months. She now has frequent nose bleeds and would like to know the significance of this. She had a drug problem and she also continues to drink alcohol in large amounts. What is the likely outcome of this as she does not listen to what I have to say regarding not drinking.
