Common Questions and Answers about Zoloft weight loss percentage

zoloft

1457506 tn?1293548442 I have a GREAT suggestion for the weight tracker, to put along with the %time complete, %goal complete, to put your percentage of weight loss! (Just like on the biggest loser). I'm always wondering this number and it would be sooo motivating to see! Thank you!!!
Avatar m tn Yes, weight loss can be a side effect of Zoloft. Stop eating all the junk food, you're setting yourself up for future health problems. Also, you may have lost some muscle mass due to no longer lifting weights. If you continue to lose weight, contact your doctor about it. Take care.
Avatar f tn If you're doing a lot of weight-training, then you've obviously put on muscle. It weighs a whole lot more than fat, so even though you're working out and LOSING FAT, you're not losing the WEIGHT because you've upped your muscle percentage. This is healthy, and muscle burns calories even at rest, so you've increased your metabolic rate (which is good!).
Avatar n tn I went from 127 to 123 after taking Zoloft. Some people gain weight, some lose weight, and others dont experience a change in weight at all. Are you getting plenty to drink? Losing 7 Ibs over about a week is more likely water loss than fat/muscle loss.
Avatar f tn ve done a LOT of research on anti-depressants/anti-anxiety drugs and weight gain/weight loss. To answer your question, it can be both. Weight gain only happens in about 25% of people taking antidepressant meds. This can be due to feeling better/enjoying food more and/or from changes in metabolism/appetite as a side effect of the meds.
Avatar f tn I run competitively and have been on Zoloft. I am not sure if the weight loss is due to the drug. I would suspect it could be from depression, pressure, etc, but that weight is definitely not healthy. Most people here on this forum will actually talk about weight gain while on these types of medications. Is your daughter talking with a counselor? If not, it may time to do this, especially with the weight loss...please keep us posted!
Avatar f tn All I know is, I NEVER had weight problems or difficulties dropping weight before I went on Zoloft. Please, can someone give me some hope and tell me my metabolism will eventually right itself?
Avatar f tn Most people switch to Wellbutrin but another very good choice is ask your doctor about prozac..it works well and there is no weight gain or sexual interest loss.
Avatar n tn Absolutely. I lost 12 pounds in 3 weeks. Have you had off the hook anxiety for the last 6 to 8 months? For me everything tasted like cardboard and I had no desire to eat. If that is the case for you, it isn't healthy to be in this state of anxiety so you may want to consider talking to your doctor again.
Avatar f tn Most weight loss aids, won't help you lose a lot of weight; or if they do, chances are that you will gain it all back again once you stop using the product. You would be much better off to implement some small lifestyle changes, such as drinking water instead of soda, eliminate sugary foods, as well as those made from white flour; switch to whole grains, brown rice, low/no fat dairy or other small changes. They don't all have to be made at once.
459279 tn?1206997145 The weird thing is about this medication is that it can also cause weight loss. I find that a regular exercise routine is great; it is also a natural way to deal with anxiety and depression and not to mention the fact, lowers blood pressure. I have been on it for a couple of months now and have stayed at the same weight with exercise. I have never taken buspar...good luck!
Avatar m tn She was surprised when I reported the weight loss at our 4 week check up so I am presuming that weight loss is not normally a symptom of Zoloft.. Do you think the Liothyronine was the reason for the weight loss? If so, can I replace my Thyroxine drug (T4) with the Liothyronine? Is Liothyronine a T3 drug? Thanks....
Avatar n tn hi, working out an hour/day is great, no need to cut your food intake down because you are already working out, you need only to drink more water (especially warm) it will melt your extra fat off and and you will get your desired weight, if you still wanna try something, you must go for beyond weight management tea,a very good thing for weight management.
Avatar n tn First I took Lexapro then Cymbalta and now Zoloft. My doctor keeps changing my meds because of the weight gain and every change only makes it worse. This latest change has caused me to gain about a pound a day. Since Thursday I have gained three more pounds and have been eating next to nothing. I finally convinced my doctor that I am not pigging out all day and she ha ordered a thyroid test. I'm so scared that I'm going to die from this, it's uncontrollable.
Avatar n tn s been this other issue, but it has help greatly with my anxiety. Did you have weight loss?
