zoloft

Avatar f tn Im currently taking 100mg of zoloft for the past 3 weeks, started at 50 mg first week. I weigh115lbs. Ive read the following "correct dosages vary from drug to drug, based on your weight and severity of symptoms". Does anyone know this info for Zoloft? Im thinking about increasing the dose because im not feeling any difference yet? Comments are much appreciated..
Avatar m tn Hi, I've been taking Zoloft 100mg for OCD for the last 4 weeks, my dr increased me to 150mg. Is it normal to have nervousness and increased sweating and headache when increasing dosage? I was feeling good on 100 mg and side effects were subsiding. How long will it take to adjust to 150? I also was just put on 10mg of lisiniprol for high blood pressure. And I'm taking gabapentin for insomnia from the Zoloft. I really appreciated any advice!

3159640 tn?1430907300 Hello, anyone try Inositol for OCD and if so is there a recommended brand to purchase online?
Avatar f tn I was on Zoloft a couple of years ago for panic, ocd which in turn led to anxiety and depression. I was on a 100mg for about a year and together with counseling it worked very well. I acutally just started taking it again for anxiety issues a couple of weeks ago. I am going up to 100mg next week. Your body will get used to it after everything stables in your blood levels. The docs told me that each increase takes a week or so to reach that.
Avatar m tn s been on Effexor for a couple of years which has been tremendously successful but she had to stop taking it recently, (due to it causing high blood pressure), and we discovered the dark, ugly side of this medication. She tapered down the dosage for the first month and has suffered for over two months with debilitating withdrawal symptoms - extreme and constant naseau, lethargy, diziness etc.
Avatar f tn I posted this in the Anxiety forum, but hoped I'd get some help from here. I have been on Zoloft for years (on and off). I had to go back on it in January after a 6 month break. My anxiety got so bad I was having severe panic attacks. This time when I went on the Zoloft it had the opposite effect....it was more stimulating that calming for me and I'm not sure why. Neither is my doctor. I also have OCD and it increased my OCD by 10x almost immediately.
Avatar f tn The only medications I have tried for OCD is Paxil and Zoloft. I had to go off Paxil because it made me gain a lot of weight. The Zoloft works, but only at a really high dose, 300mg. If you also combine it with a benzo, like Kolonopin, I find it works fairly well. There are 6 or 7 SSRI medications that treat OCD. Most of these have to be on high dosages to help with OCD specificially. I'm sorry that none of those medications worked for you.
614508 tn?1265281722 Has anyone had any interactions/reactions with the drug Topamax when prescribed for BPII & OCD. My understanding from the drug handout is that it is normally prescribed for migraines, seizures and weight loss. My doc has just increased my dosage to 100mg 3x per day. I have experienced some deterioration in my eyesight however I'm not sure if that's attributed to age (hadn't had my eyes examined in 2 years) or the Topamax which I've been on a lower doze for 6 weeks.
Avatar f tn s losing its effectiveness, I think. I felt fine for a week on the new dosage, thought I was improving, only to feel horrible again... I'm going to wait another week (6 weeks in total) but I doubt much difference will be made in that time. What medication would people recommend for someone who suffers from constant intrusive thoughts and anxiety?
286686 tn?1416012340 I was curious to know if anyone here is resistant to medication for OCD. He is on 300mg of Anafranil since December and started Luvox at the end of December and doctor has been increasing the luvox, so he is now on 300mg of luvox as of two days ago. This is the strange part.....
9266905 tn?1402808881 Hi! I hope you are feeling better! I have so many questions myself and just started a small dose of Zoloft Being on it before I do know it took like two weeks to start really working. I also know that when you increase, it should be in smaller increments. I'm not a doctor but why would he have you double your dose? Yikes? Some of the side effects can cause you more worry! Believe me..... I think I have every deadly thing going on in my body right now.
Avatar f tn What are the best medications for OCD, and has anyone had success with prozac for OCD?
Avatar f tn i am on zoloft 75mg and have been breaking out in a rash since i started taking it in april but am just now realizing it could be the zoloft. does anyone have any experiance with this or can recommend another medicine that may work for my ocd and anxiety. my ocd is the scary thoughts and it was all caused after a major surgery i went through. it is getting better but i still have some issues.
Avatar n tn Let me ask you a question, what is your son being treated for? My son has been on zoloft for anixety for 10 years and he takes 50 mg and does real good. I suppose it depends what he his being treated for but to me that is a high dose. I would probably ask the doctor about taking a different med. Good Luck.
Avatar f tn I know it increased my anxiety when I started Zoloft and it took about a month or so for me to notice the benefits of it. Whenever I start, stop, or adjust the dosage of Zoloft I notice some increased anxiety. Medications like Zoloft affect us all differently and sometimes finding the right SSRI like it can take some time. I would go discuss any concerns that you have with your prescribing doctor. Keep us posted!
Avatar f tn I take Klonopin for dystonic spasms. I have taken it for 10 years. I haven't really had a problem with it. A person just has to take it responsibly as prescribed. As for Zoloft I haven't taken anti-depressents for use for ocd and can't because I have the bipolar aspect of schizoaffective but I have some remaining obsessive symptoms that might respond to them. If you want to know about the SSRI anti-depressents like Zoloft "Depression Central" is a good site.
Avatar f tn t think that it is prescribed as much for OCD as the SSRIs but it does seem to work for me. I have not gained a bunch of weight and it doesn't kill a person's sex drive like the others do. Maybe worth a discussion with your prescribing doctor.
Avatar m tn My OCD is centered around irrational thinking and it took Wellbutrin about 4 weeks before it really started to kick in for me so I'm guessing that Zoloft will be the same.
Avatar m tn I have minor OCD with some anxiety. I take Cymbalta and a little klonipin for it and the combination has worked great. I found the klonipin works well for anxiety. When I first started it I had to keep upping the dosage then I stayed at the same dose for a while and then without really paying attention to what I was doing I've lowered the dose I'm taking to a low maintenance dose....and that I can always up if I feel more anxious. It's worked well for me. Just a thought.
5561272 tn?1369997680 I have been on 50mg of generic Zofolt a day for awhile now for OCD, and anxiety issues. It was working pretty good for me then all the sudden just seemed to stop. My Dr. upped the dosage to 100mg a day and it has helped some but I am still suffering from the itching. I get bad cases of itching on the back of my neck and on my forearms. I don't breakout or have any kind of rash. I will just start to itch and will scratch until it bleeds sometimes.
Avatar n tn Once I get something in my head I obsess over it and literally feel helpless to stop it. The zoloft works for me..
