Zoloft for night eating syndrome

Common Questions and Answers about Zoloft for night eating syndrome

zoloft

Avatar n tn I have medication and eating concerns. I've gained 10 pounds in 3 months, eating candy bars and Ben and Jerry's icecream every night. I also have high cholesterol and triglycerides. I was stress eating, because I moved across country to a new state. I'm trying to break the habit and become a vegan. But, I ate a pint of Ben and Jerry's again tonight. My dad, uncle and aunt are now all vegans. They are suggesting this as an option for me. I want to try it.
614508 tn?1265281722 I'm 46 yrs old, 5 ft 6in & weigh 190 lbs. During my teens and 20's, I was involved heavily in dance (jazz, tap, ballet, musical theatre) and developed anorexia. I did not weigh over 100 until I was 25 years old. During my 30's & 40's I started binging & purging...stopping only during my 2 pregnancies. Now I am in the routine of not eating all day (except for coffee & water) and binge at night (10pm onwards) consuming huge amounts of calories.
Avatar f tn thank you for responses. it is so helpful to hear from other people.
214607 tn?1287677559 Hi, i cant believe your Dr doesnt know what you are talking about when you say you have restless leg syndrome. I know exactly what you mean im going on week 39 and i have had restless leg syndrome since around month 5. Thankfully its a not a bad case and it happens when im really tired...so im usually able to fall asleep. i do not think that you can take anything for it though. Try sleeping with a pillow between your legs it helps me a little.
Avatar f tn I was on 100mg of zoloft and 100mg of seroquel for major depression and bipoloar disorder. After only a week on this medication I began to feel extremely weird (which i figured would happen). One night I got a massive ringing in my right ear which made me almost feel like my entire right side was paralized or I was going to have a stroke but it went away. The next day I started to feel extremely dizzy and my heart began to race and I thought I was going to pass out.
Avatar m tn My Psychiatrist has started me on 1 mg. klonipin, twice a day...100 mg. Zoloft once per day...100 mg. trazodone at night to sleep. I'm scared of serotonin syndrome! Dr. is tapering me off the klonipin at my request. Am having nausea and stomach problems. Any advice? Thanks!
Avatar m tn ve been taking Zoloft 100mg for some time now. It started a month ago, but every day I would get a nasty, nervy feeling about two hours after taking my zoloft. The feeling would just be icky all over, as if the body was just "not right" It wasn't a depression, it was a physical thing. Oh yes, and yawning is very frequent and very unpleasant. Recently, It has gotten worse. In less than 30 minutes after taking Zoloft, I get these side effects very profoundly.
Avatar f tn You don't have Serotonin Syndrome. Stay off Google trying to diagnose yourself. It's very uncommon. You probably have withdrawal from abruptly stopping your Zoloft -- you can't do that, you need to taper off of it slowly should you ever decide to stop taking it. Even then you'll probably have some withdrawal, and how severe it will be depends on the person.
Avatar m tn 25 mg for panic attack , i was on zoloft for 1 day !!!!!but my doc stop it because i had a very strange side effects like tachycardia ,become nervous my doc said it was Serotonin syndrome ! so thats why he changed the zoloft to purlex(escitalopram ) , am very scared to take purlex :( and any one heard about deanxit ? can i use it for panic attack ? thank you .
Avatar m tn s no wonder you had the symptoms you did, and while Serotonin Syndrome is much more rare than people think, you very well could have been experiencing that with an abrupt start of such a high dose of Zoloft. These meds need to be introduced GRADUALLY, for the very reason you discussed, to minimize any unpleasant side effects, some of which (SS) could be potentially dangerous. Your second problem is the erratic way in which you are taking your current meds.
Avatar f tn hi, i'm only 20. now i'm having a hyperventilation syndrome and i'm worried because it may get worse. i can't even think too much about small things, well; meaning that i'm not that stressed out, but my heart would beat really fast and feel dizzy. so, what do i do, what is the best treatment for me?
Avatar n tn I now believe that depression for me is a brain chemistry issue and that I will be taking zoloft for ever. It has been a very good drug for me and it will be again, after a few more weeks. I hope this explains better my earlier post. I also hope things are getting better for you. By the way, as my zoloft begins to work, I'm finding myself using less and less xanax. None today. Only .25mg yesterday. All will get better.
Avatar m tn Keep in mind that antidepressants frequently cause night sweats. I get them from Lexapro and Celexa, for example. So medication can cause the same symptoms as anxiety. One thing you might try is dividing the Zoloft dose in two -- sometimes that levels the side effects and keeps a steady amount in your bloodstream.
Avatar n tn If mixed with these, Zoloft can cause serotonin syndrome. This includes fever, sweating, muscle stiffness, trouble thinking clearly, a change in mental functioning, sleepiness, or change in your breathing, heartbeat and blood pressure disorder. If this is the case, you should stop taking Zoloft and speak to your Doctor. I can never emphasise enough, always insist medication comes with a leaflet which states possible side effects.
Avatar n tn Am I still withdrawing from the zoloft or am I having serotonin syndrome? I have been on antidepressants for 13 years and should have weaned much slower. Thanks for your help. This has been going on for weeks now.
Avatar n tn with everything you have said in my opinon zoloft is not the med for you. i would my try something a little lighter like lexapro and cymbolta. i would not keep taking something that was not working or making me worse.
Avatar m tn On Zoloft 25 mg for 3 weeks. Initial terrible insomnia is getting better but still very tired. Sleeping 12-14 ours daily. Is this normal? Will it go away? Taking med in the morning and going back to sleep till 1-2 pm now. Will taking it at night help with the daytime fatigue or will it make insomnia worse? Will the fatigue make depression and anxiety worse if I cannot cope when school starts? Is Zoloft right for me? Should I be patient and wait longer?
Avatar f tn Been on zoloft for 10 years on and off. After I lost my mom suddenly 2 years ago I upped my dose to 100 mg. 2 months ago I had an drug reaction with an antibiotic I was prescribed. The ER doc told me to stop taking my zoloft. I did for 4 days (huge mistake). I started up again back on my 100 mg and of course had all the start up effects which have all gone except tightness uncomfortable feeling in my stomach especially in the mornings. I take my zoloft at night before bed.
Avatar m tn Serotonin syndrome is also known as serotonin sickness, serotonin storm, serotonin poisoning, hyperserotonemia, or serotonergic syndrome if you want to further research this.
